When I called Jim's towing, Javier recommended I take the spare tire (that was flat) to Castaic because "Benny's Tire" is open until midnight. When I returned with the fixed spare tire, Javier met me at the sight 5 miles east of Fillmore. My trailer was on a slight grade just off the shoulder that made the situation even worse and dangerous for repair... I really thought During the repair the 'tongue jack' collapsed due to the weight, the slope of trailer and a terrible weld job on the trailer jack. And to add to this forgettable evening that I put myself in, Javier showed me that the brakes on the trailer wheel were in pieces when he rotated the wheel before installing the tire. Javier was able to get the trailer back on my truck and I'm now home alive 100 miles north of Fillmore. When I originally asked what the cost would be to do the work, he said it depended on how things went. Javier was on a mission to help me get back on the road and make it as safe as possible for me to get home. He took a bad and dangerous situation and made it the best he could. Here's the very unfortunate thing that added insult to injury, an older man picked up the phone at about 10 or 11 PM .... very rude and bad-tempered. He lectured me that I called the Roy's Towing number that was only intended for police officers. So I said, I just needed my personal items from my car and explained that I am a first responder too. He began screaming asking me a question, "are you a police officer?" You cannot use or call this number if you aren't a cop, do you understand? Engaged up the phone right away and knead of directing me to the right number, just slammed the phone. NO ONE is impersonating or pretending to be a cop, I will never want that job, with all due respect but isn't the job of a Roy's Towing owner or driver to help those who are I situations where they might not know who to turn to during accidents? As a first responder myself, I always make an effort to ease the tension and anxiety of people under such circumstances. Roy's Towing owner or driver at that time was NOT a good contractor for the SVPD, they are the worst example of public service and customer service. Oh by the way, I was hit by a lady who accepted fault and who cased the accident. There were many witnesses present and the SVPD was on site during the accident!
