I had double parked behind my houses parking spot so that I could unpack my car after getting back from a trip where I ended up having to put my dog to sleep. I was very upset already and when I told the tow driver he said "Everyone Dies". What a heartless, thoughtless person. Who says something like this in response to another saying that they just had to put their dog to sleep and had only double parked because I was unpacking and there was not parking anywhere closer than a 1/2 mile. I wouldn't call this company if I needed a tow if they were the last company in the city. What a piece of work he was to say that and the only thing that would be worse would be to be such a miserable person myself. I call the AAA because I was stuck in a parking lot. they sent someone from Roy's towing over... his name was David l. I have to say he's one of the nicest guys that has ever helped me. after 44 years with AAA. my charger was dead and I didn't have the receipt for the last battery they put in. he said he knew if he could get a new battery in there it would at least get me home. The alternator was bad. he made a few phone calls and before I knew it he said that yes he can put a new battery in no charge. and yes that did get me home... seeing that I take care of my 86-year-old mom, that was a huge deal. thank you so much. I had an unfortunate accident a few weeks back and Roy's Towing was called in by the police in Simi Valley. Much like a dazed accident victim, I didn't really know where to start the mitigation and insurance process, at the time. After having been treated by the Paramedics, I called the Roy's Towing phone number that was left by the driver to me. It was a little late but I wasn't able to take some important personal items and that'll be critical for my work, so I called the number. Here's the very unfortunate thing that added insult to injury, an older man picked up the phone at about 10 or 11 PM .... very rude and bad-tempered. He lectured me that I called the Roy's Towing number that was only intended for police officers. So I said, I just needed my personal items from my car and explained that I am a first responder too. He began screaming asking me a question, "are you a police officer?" You cannot use or call this number if you aren't a cop, do you understand? Engaged up the phone right away and knead of directing me to the right number, just slammed the phone. NO ONE is impersonating or pretending to be a cop, I will never want that job, with all due respect but isn't the job of a Roy's Towing owner or driver to help those who are I situations where they might not know who to turn to during accidents? As a first responder myself, I always make an effort to ease the tension and anxiety of people under such circumstances. Roy's Towing owner or driver at that time was NOT a good contractor for the SVPD, they are the worst example of public service and customer service. Oh by the way, I was hit by a lady who accepted fault and who cased the accident. There were many witnesses present and the SVPD was on site during the accident! Requested a tow around 11:00 PM to a Toyota auto shop after our car had an over temp light with a coolant issue. They only had 2 guys on call at the time and Juan got to us in about an hour response time. He was very friendly and helped out majorly!
