Chicken Adobo

The food was really good. The restaurant is located in the back portion of the supermarket. We got chicken adobo which was really good and flavorful. The service was great. I will definitely return to try other items.

I'll be honest, I haven't tried a ton of Filipino food before, but I went with a Filipino friend and he said it was pretty authentic. Filipino Express is tucked inside Oriental Store, so the setup is more of a casual, food court style. You order at the counter, grab your food when it's ready, and then find a seat. The ambiance is simple and laid-back. I noticed more customers get takeout. The aunties working behind the counter are super efficient, and the food not only looks good but tastes great.

Combo meal: pork menudo, pinakbet and steamed rice

Filipino food for blinner (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for travel day The combo is $12 - plenty of food for that amount. You can choose what you want from what's available (this is turo-turo style, literally means point-point as you point which dish you want with your rice) my pick was pork menudo and a vegetable dish called pinakbet). They certainly have a home-cooked feel to it. The smiles of people around you were just a plus - total Filipino vibe. Their halo-halo is the best I've had in the US so far Why I didn't give 5 stars: 1) No one seems to be wiping tables. It's up to the customers to clean them. 2) There were some annoying flies which was a turnoff.

Food is delicious. The service is ok, sometimes there is a language barrier. Some of the staff is friendly than others. The language barrier and occasional attitudes have never deterred my husband and I from going. Wait times can be long and seating can fill quickly during weekend lunch hours. I highly recommend the pancit, fresh lumpia, fried lumpia (sometimes it's a little over cooked), and mix and match different meat plate with rice!

I come here often as it is the only Filipino place in the area. It is located inside of an Asian market so a little tricky to find. Some tables are available to sit and eat. There is always a line. I've called ahead several times and they are always friendly and my food is ready. The lumpia is delicious and perfectly rolled. The pancit is so flavorful! The serving is very big. I also got the lechon which was crispy and hot! They serve it with a dip that was so good!! The prices are very good too! And there's always enough for leftovers!

Let's start by saying, if you haven't you SHOULD! Chicken adobo - Was delicious meat falling off the bone! 10/10 Chicken Curry - was good can be better with my spicy and flavor. I give it a 7/10 Lumpia- delicious fresh, hot, fresh and addictive! 8/10 Pork Belly- 10/10 delicious, crispy and just YUMMY! So good if you are craving filipino food!!!! Customers service was wonderful, they had an amazing staff with helpful insight of what to get or recommend! The space was good for a hole in the wall, it's not your typical restaurant or cafe but more like a home like atmosphere! Go go go and get you some!!!! Tell Liv sent you Raleigh you didn't disappoint this time!

Oh my damn finally found some Filipino food in the area and reminds me of the stores back in the DC area . Tucked away in a grocery store is Filipino Express which serves some authentic food.. No real menu besides the pic above the counter... There is more food to offer than wahts on the wall of pics. I ended ordering the Lumpia, Pork Singang, Chicken Adobo, Pancit, and lechon kawali and man oh man it did not disappoint. The lumpia were decent sized and crispy and delicious. The Pork Singang has the right amount of sour and savory and was yummy. Chicken adobo was flavorful but a lil bit dry but flavor was there . Pancit is Pancit.. cant mess that up really . The lechon was crispy and good... fat to meat ratio was a bit more on the fatty side but overall good . I will definitely be back to try the other items especially the Kare Kare

food here has never tasted the same esp. the pinakbet, squid and dinuguan. It's bland., needs flavor., pinakbet is just soggy vegetables.

My bride and I decided that stopping somewhere after church would be the best way to find the remaining ingredients. I tried one Asian market a bit further down the street and could not find any fresh produce there. Stopped here and hit the jackpot! Exactly the produce I needed to finish my recipe. The gal at the checkout counter was very friendly and wanted to be sure we had found everything we needed (or wanted). I now have some tasty home made Beef Pho, and while I have not perfected the recipe, it is certainly a good start, especially now knowing I have a place that is not miles out of the way to shop for my ingredients.

We were absolutely, positively ignored by all the staff behind the counter as they waited on customers around us. Not sure what the issue was. I have eaten at MANY ethnic restaurants where language is a barrier and have not had a problem getting great food and service. I overheard some of ladies speaking English so that was not even the issue. So I took my family AND my money down the street to Pho Cali House where money is green, food is excellent and service is wonderful. I would not recommend the grocery/restaurant to anyone.

As far as I know, this is the only Southeast Asian supermarket in the area, and for anyone serious about Thai cooking, it's a goldmine. The shelves are packed with essentials -- curries, sauces, noodles, herbs both fresh and frozen, and even harder-to-find ingredients like that I honestly never expected to find locally. I was especially impressed by the variety of rice options including sticky rice and riceberry rice, plus frozen fermented crabs, meatballs, snacks, and drinks that brought back memories of browsing markets overseas. The only thing I couldn't find was Nam Pla Wan, so I still had to swing by H Mart afterward, but honestly that's a very minor complaint considering how specialized and well-stocked this place is. Also, Dora, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Western Raleigh/Cary really needed a spot like this.

We've been able to find pantry staples like different sauce mixes, curry pastes, coconut milk, rice, ramen, and even Thai Lays potato chips with all the fun flavors from home. Their frozen selection is small, but has some quality products like frozen BBQ pork buns, acasia leaves, and sweet sticky rice with banana or taro. The owner of the store is super friendly and nice. We always have the best time shopping here and discovering new things to buy. Go check them out!

Five-Star Food Review - Kusinera Filipino Cuisine…read more If you are looking for authentic flavor, generous portions, and food that truly feels made with care, Kusinera Filipino Cuisine delivers an outstanding dining experience. From the first bite, it was clear this was going to be special. The Kusinera fried pork ribs were absolutely incredible. They were cooked to perfection with a crispy, flavorful outer layer and tender, juicy meat inside. Each bite was rich, savory, and deeply satisfying. The seasoning was balanced and bold without being overwhelming. This is comfort food at its finest and easily some of the best pork ribs I have ever had. The lumpia were just as impressive. They were light, crisp, and packed with delicious filling. The texture was spot on, with a golden crunch on the outside and warm, well-seasoned ingredients on the inside. Paired with the dipping sauce, they created the perfect combination of flavor and freshness. It was hard to stop at just one. The Kusinera platter was a true highlight and a great way to experience a variety of traditional Filipino dishes. Every item on the platter was prepared with attention to detail and care. The flavors were vibrant and authentic, offering a wonderful mix of savory, hearty, and comforting tastes. The portion size was generous, making it ideal for sharing or for those with a big appetite. Beyond the food, the overall experience stood out. The quality, consistency, and presentation showed pride in the kitchen. You can tell this is a place where tradition and passion come together. It is the kind of restaurant you look forward to returning to and recommending to friends and family. Simply put, this was absolutely some of the best food I have ever enjoyed. Kusinera Filipino Cuisine earns a strong five-star rating for flavor, quality, and an unforgettable dining experience. The service was good and honest. I May return if they can manage their online ordering.
