I started with BJJ, but soon added Krav Maga and Muay Thai. Every now and then I'll do MMA for fun. This gym feels like a second home and it honestly keeps getting better. On top of having an even balance of gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, no gi, and striking classes, they've recently added judo and fitness classes. The overall environment is very chill and welcoming to everyone. It's definitely not a roided out tap out bro gym. Also, unlike some gyms I've attended, there's no prejudice against other BJJ lineages. Cross training with other BJJ gyms is welcomed and encouraged, as are visiting BJJ practitioners from anywhere. Since signing up three years ago, I've never had any billing or payment issues. I'm suspicious of reviewers who say they have. I've attended and paid for a number of martial arts and fitness type gyms and the policies at Soulcraft are the same ones you'll find at most other well run gyms. In my experience, they've actually been very reasonable. When an injury forced me to stop training for a month, I explained my situation and was not charged for a month. My main reason for writing this review was to share updated photos of the gym facilities. The photos on yelp were pretty old and the gym has changed a lot since then.

I can't comment on how the classes are because it never made it that far. When I called, I asked…read morefor pricing information and the lady on the phone sidestepped my question and asked "When can you come down?". As a sales manager, I was actually impressed but I asked again and she said she would "email me all the information". I relented. That email was just a video of the gym. That's called a lie. I went down there while they had a class going and it was extremely loud but I said I would come to take a class in later that day. Before I left, the lady asked if I wanted to buy the wraps now (skin in the game tactic) and I said no. When I arrived for the "free class" the man behind the counter said, "1st class will be $25 and wraps are included". I asked what the monthly charge is and he said "We go over that after class" I said I am not going to buy wraps if I don't know what the monthly charge is. He looked at me with disdain but quickly went back to the cheerful salesman. Another person started going over the prices with me and it reminded me of a follow-the-ball under-the-cup game. She kept flipping the paper over to show their "amazing schedule" which I admit was pretty good. I couldn't afford it but even if I could I don't think I would have signed up. Just be transparent and don't waste my time.

They will not give you back another copy of your contract because it is "archived" and will give you the run around when you want more information. DO NOT GO HERE. Their monthly fees are expensive and when your contract is over they will swap you over to monthly which is more expensive without telling you. Also the staff are con artists and when I agreed to go through my whole contract they tried to trick me into paying an extra month and finishing my contract a month early to make me feel better. Its generic strip center home flanked by McDonalds and Dairy Queen notwithstanding, I was expecting a gimmicky variation on the Curves theme -- exercise by exposure. Boy was I wrong! 9Round the 30 minute kickboxing gym kicked my relatively fit (not to be confused with shapely) butt! Here's how it works: There are 9 stations set up around the gym which you rotate through for 3 minutes (you can do anything for 3 minutes) each. My trainer, aka Megan "The Machine" Beavis quickly and efficiently told each person exactly what to do, the bell rings and we were off. The exercises are specific to every "boxer" and change every day. It's truly remarkable. Not only was I able to take out my frustrations by hand and by foot on several different-shaped bags (heavy, speed and eliptical), I was able to drop in on my own schedule and burn somewhere between 300-500 calories almost as fast as I could say Muhammed Ali. All the trainers are certified and the owners, husband and wife Shaun Berner and Tina Valaouras are both professional Kickboxers. Classes: Kickboxing all day, every day Schedule: Very flexible. Opens at 6:30 3 days a week and until 8 Mon-Thursday. Atmosphere: New, clean equipment, efficient use of space. Everything you'd expect in a boxing gym but the ropes. Price: $49 a month for unlimited classes Extras: When you enroll you get your very own pair of gloves and hand wraps. Cherry on top: you can choose your own boxer name. Also access to a proprietary nutrition guide

Nick and his instructors are top notch professionals who make it a point to connect with every student. They make sure new students are given a comfortable place to practice and learn while still giving the experienced athletes the space they need to work and sweat. FAA-CT is MMA-focused so very little time is spent on the structure and rituals you may have experienced in traditional martial arts. The gym is kept clean and the atmosphere is loosed and fun while still maintaining high levels of focus and safety for all. They are also very affordable compared to comparable MMA gyms in the area. The best endorsement I can give comes from my kids. My 9yo daughter checks the class schedule a few times a day and won't stop asking what class is next and how many days away it is. My 15yo has found a new extended family. She leaves every workout glowing not because she's learning how to fight, but because every adult in the gym has taken the time to learn her name and gives her the "good work" fist bump after every class.

The room is large and well air conditioned, which is good as we all get our sweat on. The instructor (Tammy) was very welcoming, explained how Zumba works for first timers, and encouraged us to focus on the footwork if we were getting lost doing the moves. I enjoyed the friendliness of the participants, the encouragement of the instructor, and the volume level of the music. My one complaint is it is not always easy to see the instructor, if she was on a raised stage that would be better. If you are expecting a gym environment, that is not the case. There are no locker rooms and limited restrooms. Overall, this was a very positive experience, and I may return.
