Hotel Murano - Hotel Murano - Lobby Fireplace Cozy Seating Area

The lobby is very spacious and has a nice lounge area with a small but good bar. There is a Snack lounge on the 25th floor with soda, ice, water, chips and more. The hotel has a glass art theme as do the rooms. We have exotic glass lamps that glow from within. Lamp shades and covers also made from blown glass. This hotel is run well and feels very welcoming.

I'm choosy about hotels and scour reviews before booking, and I did the same with this hotel. The…read morereviews are excellent and the glass art seemed like a plus, so my husband and I booked a few nights here. The pros: The glass art is indeed stunning, and the hotel itself is an ultra-modern work of art. In our first room, we had a gorgeous view of sunrise over the waterway. The linens and towels were clean, and the rooms were mostly clean. The cons: This hotel is horrific if you're sensitive to scent and VOCs, or prone to migraines. The lobby reeked of perfume; the smell was so bad that it instantly gave me a migraine when we first arrived. I've read about some places pumping fragrances in the air to add to the "experience" and this must be one such place. I had hoped that our floor and room would be better. They were not. The floor (21) smelled like plastic. You know the smell of new toys fresh out of the box? It was like that, but amplified. Then our room itself was horrible. It smelled like sour chemicals, especially by the AC vent. We arrived late and exhausted, and I was too tired to deal with the smell. Despite being exhausted, I slept poorly and awoke with one of the worst migraines of my life. My husband, who usually sleeps like a rock and isn't prone to migraines, didn't sleep very well, either. We left for the day and I hoped the smell would go away, but it was worse than ever when we returned that afternoon. We called the front desk and they said they couldn't do anything. My husband asked a housekeeper if we could have an air purifier. She gave us two, and we turned them on high and left for an hour. When we returned, the smell was even worse, and it was even weirding out my husband. He called the desk again, and they sent maintenance. As soon as maintenance arrived, they asked if we had been burning anything (no!) and immediately said they'd get us in a different room. I was so relieved. There was no way we could stay in that room another night. We were moved to a different room down the hall. But guess what? This room also smelled like sour chemicals, especially by the AC vent. Here, the smell was a fraction of what it was in the first room, and the desk had told us that the hotel was completely booked, so I decided to try to tolerate it. I awoke with a migraine for the next two nights, but the room was still an improvement over the first room so I put up with it. Late on our last full day in Tacoma, we noticed someone had opened the hallway windows, so it's clear we weren't alone in being bothered by the hallway smell. I don't think this smell is isolated to the 21st floor, I quickly stepped off the elevator on a random floor and smelled the same thing, there. I'm surprised no other reviews mentioned this, so I'm writing this to warn other sensitive folks.

About a 5 minute drive there and we walked back which took us about 20 minutes. Easy peasy. We had 2 rooms, next to each other. One to get dressed and the other for family as we would explore Tacoma the following day. The rooms were decent size. We had a king bed and a full size pull out couch and a nice view. The room also had a Keurig and a mini fridge. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was breakfast in the morning that was pretty good. I was thrilled about the garage parking as I saw broken car windows of cars parked on the street. The garage was gated and required a key card for entry. I worried for nothing. My car was safe. My only gripes are that the rooms were not connected and there was construction going on. That was not enough to make me unhappy with my stay. Overall, 9/10 I would recommend.

They weren't a 100% cotton and that makes them just a little bit softer. My room was very clean. What can I say? I would come back when I'm driving through Tacoma. The downside.. Around 9:30 a.m. a dog started howling so I contacted the front desk and they said it was a service dog. Time to get up.

Maybe the best bed I've slept on in a hotel and I'm comparing to 5 star and 5 diamond resorts. Simply so comfy from the mattress to the pillows to the bedding. Top notch. The only recommendation I would make is for the staff to use fragrance free detergent. Aside from that, the beds are perfection. The rooms are CLEAN. I am very particular about cleanliness and usually base my hotel choice on who has the best reputation. This place was spotless daily. Love the two little windows that open in the rooms. It is so nice to have fresh air come in to the room. The gym is very nice. New, clean equipment, a nice bathroon, and filtered water available. The downsides- Only valet available. If you're like me and come and go all day, just park in the structure across the street during the day. Valet at night. No room service. This isn't the end of the world. Call the restaurant downstairs to ask for take away. They are sweet and have things ready quickly.

Since we've stayed here before, we were pretty clear on what to expect. Check in was smooth, the valet staff were super nice, and we had a fantastic stay. The jacuzzi room is definitely spendy, but we were dead set on it. My husband and I started a tradition a few years ago where we nixed Christmas presents and decided to book 2-3 day vacations instead. With this being our belated gift to each other, we knew we wanted to splurge. I'm fully convinced there isn't a room here that has a bad view. We had sweeping views of the water and once the fog lifted in the morning, it was gorgeous! The jacuzzi tub is a little finicky to get the temperature correct, but once we had that figured out it was great. It takes a bit to fill up (about 20 minutes) so just be ready. Silver Cloud at Ruston definitely is a little on the pricier side, but it's entirely worth it in my opinion!

I had a run in with a gal one fine morning, her name is Edith. She was rude, curt and well a few other words I won't use here. I came down for coffee. 5:45 ish I approached the Bistro counter to ask where I could get coffee. "We don't open until 6:30!" Oh I see do t you have house coffee set up out here? "What do you want just like regular drip coffee?" Um yes. "Well I don't have a till yet so you can pay at the host desk and then come back here." You don't just have any out here like complimentary? "Well you can just drink the coffee in your room!" Ok! So I walked away from what was about to get explosive!!! Sat nearby to wait . At 6:15 she started to serve others, no "hey I'm ready now" or " I can help you now" When I finally ordered my $6.07 coffee I paid in cash. I could tell by the "humph" that this annoyed her. I don't believe I have stayed at a Marriot Courtyard that did not have house coffee in the lobby! I know I have never been verbally accosted like this. Look you are in the hospitality business m, I myself have been for 45 plus years, that ain't how you do it! She should maybe pursue a different career! This doesn't fit the Marriot guidelines I am used to! I will also say they during my stay I interacted with two other employees at said Bistro , Jasmine and Hellen and they both were extremely pleasant

Since the Pub was the only place open at the time of day we were there, only one stamp was to be had... but the delicious breakfast made up for it! I had a half order of the Fungi Benedict which was made with half a toasted English muffin & one scrambled egg, covered with herbed wild mushrooms, sautéed spinach and Hollandaise sauce. Several choices are available for sides and I chose the fresh fruit (fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and more). It was very tasty and perfectly done. We sat by a window inside, since the outside seating areas were still closed, but the beautiful sunny day made for a perfect venue for breakfast. Our server was attentive, quick to refill water, and made sure to check back in with us regularly. I enjoyed this McMenamins location a lot. I think I'll have to go back to get the rest of my Passport stamps and to sit in one of those outside seating areas that overlook the harbor. I feel another road trip coming on.

I documented the room's condition with photos, although I am not including the toilet photos due to their graphic nature. At 4:12 a.m. on July 8, while getting ready for the airport, I discovered there was no running water. Although the front desk brought me bottled water, guests were never informed about the plumbing issue. Because of the poor room condition, lack of communication, and no water on the morning of my departure, I requested a price reduction/refund. I have not received any response from the hotel staff or manager, despite sending an email. When I checked out, there was no one at the front desk available to speak with. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location. I also stayed here in December and experienced similar issues. I chose to give the hotel another chance, but I encountered the same problems with the condition of the room. It is very disappointing to have had the same experience twice. Areas for Improvement: The biggest opportunities for improvement are communication, room readiness, and quality control. * Guest communication: If there are known facility issues, such as plumbing problems or loss of water service, guests should be notified as soon as possible. Clear communication allows guests to make arrangements and avoid unexpected disruptions. * Room cleanliness and preparation: Rooms should be fully inspected before guests arrive to ensure they are clean and ready. This includes checking bathrooms, dishes, floors, surfaces, and all areas of the room. Guests should not have to clean upon arrival. * Quality checks and accountability: A final room inspection process would help identify issues before check-in and ensure housekeeping standards are being met. * Front desk availability and follow-up: Having staff available during checkout and responding promptly to guest concerns would greatly improve the overall experience

We needed to get off that Canadian island and get back in the USA as soon as possible in case she needed additional medical care. I was thinking Seattle had some good hotels and hospitals. But, I also knew we had been to the Marriott Tacoma in the past with my wife liking this hotel very much. We took a chance and made reservations at the Marriott Tacoma. I called the hotel and spoke to "Evie" (Ivana) and explained our situation. I asked her for an upgrade to a corner "wraparound" room that we had stayed in previously. She was able to upgrade me over the phone. Check in was quick and easy. Evie upgraded us to a wonderful wraparound room on a higher floor. The room was perfect with a great view of the city, harbor, and even Mt. Rainer. We had a huge room with a king bed and a sofa bed for our daughter. The M Club lounge was nice. They got rid of the espresso machine that they had during our first visit. They had plenty of bottled water and soda. They had lots of snacks throughout the day. Breakfast is served in the morning and evening appetizers are available in the evening. We were exhausted from the day before where my wife spent the night at the hospital. We went to sleep early and woke up late. They were the perfect hotel for us after our medical scare. Fortunately, my wife is okay and did not need further care until we got back home. We were given a late checkout the next day to continue our road trip to Portland. I cannot thank Evie enough. My wife keeps commenting that this is now one of her favorite Marriott properties.
