Chicken tostada

The is my GO TO spot for Mexican food. The ladies are always so friendly and greets me with smiles. Tiny little spot with small dine in area. Typically Take Out food. The outside of the building has beautiful artwork. Parking is very limited and hard in & out but for a quick stop, it's worth it.

Low key, decent, neighborhood Mexican eats with the nicest people working there. It's quick and satisfying. Lots of vegetarian options like mushroom quesadilla, veggie burrito, bean and cheese burrito, cheese enchilada for a reasonable price. I got the cheese enchilada. Cheese was nicely melted. Good amount of sauce. Rice was fluffy. Beans seasoned well. The salsas were surprisingly fresh, seasoned well, good amount of cilantro and hit the spot! The inside only has counter seating, about 8? spots I think, four chairs on each side. The outside looks a bit rough with bars on the windows and the building is a bit aged but the inside is clean and old school comforting. There is limited parking in a shared tiny lot right before the building, on the corner of the block. I actually missed it and had to turn around.

Coming to Maui from Cali I was curious to see how the Mexican food was considering we have a taco truck on every corner. I was not disappointed. I ordered a carnitas burrito and it was better than back home. No skimping on the meat here! Only thing I would change is asking for no lettuce on my burrito. Service was nice and food was fast. Inside is small but gets the job done. The chicken nachos were also bomb I might add.

Great fast service. Food excellent!!! Had the tostadas, shrimp burrito and chicken enchiladas. Simple fast food.

Fiesta Time is the hidden GEM we all crave. We have been coming here for a long time. Whenever we happen to be in the area we stop by. The food is made by a woman that looks like one of my Tia"s (aunts). When you order food it is NOT served quickly which is sometimes a good sign that the food is fresh. I had the pork chili Verde (green) burrito ( wet) which means enchilada sauce spread on top like a giant enchilada mmm. All I know is I heard the blender, blending and the green sauce was fresh and tasted amazing!! The beans were beans, the rice was fluffy and well cooked with great taste. The chips in all fairness were stale for the first time I've been there. I will shrug it off as a one time thing. My son and wife had a carne asada burrito (steak) dry. They loved that the ingredients were spread evenly unlike fake Mexican food places like Taco Bell that serves GOBS in different places overpowering the flavor every two bites too much salsa in the first bite then too much sour cream in the next, then too much cheese 2 bites after that ..sigh ( but I digress) the food is made with care. My other son had tacos and enjoyed them . The salsa is home made and wonderfully flavored. And not spicy that my wife even enjoyed it and for a local girl that's saying a lot. The parking is decent as there is reserved parking on the side just for the restaurant. The seating is limited but we rarely eat there anyway. We brought it home for movie night. So if your in the area of downtown Wailuku give it a shot I promise you will enjoy the love and care put into the meal.

I tend to avoid this spot because I know how busy it can get and limited parking but I always forget that aside from the 3 stalls in front, there are actually 4 marked stalls in a private lot right next door. They're located on a corner of a busy street so it can easily get congested but calling in your order ahead is easy. All the workers are really nice. We ordered ahead and the Aunty recommended if you plan to pay separate, to request ahead as they cannot accommodate separating your bill after they print the ticket and you come in to pay. Happy to report they got an upgrade inside with some air conditioning for a more comfortable experience. They also have some chairs inside to eat and a picnic table outside in the shade if you choose. Stoked they haven't jacked up their prices with all the inflation going around. They maintained their affordable prices and delicious food. Stop in for some Mexican grinds, the only one in Wailuku!

Chicken taquitos - without the lettuce, guac and sour cream (picky eater) / super delish fluffy rice

We lived in Arizona for over 20 years, so we know good Mexican food and this is our NEW FAVORITE!! The salsa is a must-have! People come here and just buy the salsa! The chicken taquitos were so yummy and the mushroom quesadilla was to die for! OMG! This place is bomb!

Came here right after hiking Haleakala for 3 days. I found good reviews here and decided to try it. Upon arriving and noticing it was a small hole in the wall, my expectations were heightened and I had a feeling it was gonna be great! And I was not disappointed! The food was awesome! Super moist and tasty traditional Mexican food. I been craving this since Los Angeles. Mexican food on Oahu is pretty bad and I am sooo glad to have come here. Service was great , and food was exceptional! I'll be thinking of this restaurant for years to come- thank you and aloha

Amigo's is my go to if I want some yummy Mexican Food and they've been serving the Maui community…read morefor years. They have an all day Breakfast Menu and probably still the only Mexican restaurant that offers Complimentary Chips and Salsa which is a plus. They have a Kihei location near my home but this Kahului location is where I usually frequent after work and they offer great daily specials throughout the week. I usually will get myself a refreshing glass of Horchata. This Cinnamon Rice Drink goes perfect with any Mexican dish to relieve that spice. I will most likely stick to a top 5- Ala Carte Taco (if you visit on Mondays, Tacos are $3.95!), Chicken Tortilla Soup, Caldo De Res (not pictured- Mexican Beef Soup with Potatoes and Carrots), Chicken Quesadilla with sour cream and guacamole on the side and Chorizo Con Huevos (Mexican Pork Sausage with Eggs). I have friends that are Regulars here and they usually get their Birria Tacos or Burritos and they love it! Unfortunately I got Chorizo Con Huevos on this last meal and the Chorizo & Eggs was very over done. (I should've said something but I was hungry). But the plate does come with your choice of Flour or Corn Tortillas and the most fluffiest Rice and Creamy Beans. I rated a 4 because mostly everything else I've ordered has been great and the service is always good even when they're pretty busy. The chips and salsa satisfy and help the busy waiting period go faster and you can always ask for a salsa refill.

It wasn't until later that I realized the mistake. Both times I was told the manager would call me back. No call. I eat here often, so it's definitely disappointing. But just make sure you check your itemized bill before paying! Lesson learned. **I finally got a call back from a private number an hour after posting this review. It was the manager who left me a Voicemail saying that she would refund the item that was mistakenly charged to our bill.**

We ordered a burrito with everything, cut in half, and when I checked it, there was barely any meat inside. I went back to the register to politely ask whether any carne asada had been included. Instead of answering my question professionally, the employee told me, "Don't ask stupid questions because we weigh our meat." I was shocked by her disrespectful attitude. I told her that customer service is about treating customers with respect and speaking to them politely. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to resolve the issue, she continued arguing with me and said she didn't believe me. She insisted there were only two pieces of meat and that they weigh their portions. Even if you weigh your meat, that is no excuse to speak to a paying customer in such a rude and disrespectful manner. Customers should never be insulted for asking a reasonable question about the food they paid for. The attitude was terrible, and the burrito itself was extremely disappointing because there was hardly any meat inside. Poor food quality combined with even worse customer service is a recipe for losing customers. I would never expect to be treated this way at a restaurant. Management seriously needs to address how employees speak to customers. You can have policies about portion sizes, but basic respect and professionalism should always be required. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects decent food and respectful service.

This is not a sit down, all seating is outside and limited, but the food is totally worth the small inconvenience. The salsa and guacamole were very very good. Their regular salsa was smooth and seasoned well. Their medium salsa was great as well and had a little kick. The guac was just perfectly chunky and didn't have huge chunks of raw onion or tomato which we loved. The Anaconda Burrito had all the fix-ins and we added sour cream. We shared between 4 people, but it could easily be shared by 6. Some of us also don't usually like beans, lettuce, or onions, but we had no problem eating the burrito as is, it mixed together well. We also had the Tres Leches which was fresh and moist. Very light and well done. Overall, we will definitely recommend Acevedo's to friends and go back next time we are in Maui!

No worries; it's worth waiting for. She gave me a pager, and we watched the chickens while we waited for our 4 soft birria tacos. As always, it was worth the wait. Let's start by saying, they pulled into the pole position of my most delectable Mexican food bite and place in Hawaii (albeit only had on Oahu and Maii, lol). My order: Chorizo Burrito Bowl and maaayynnn Thai thing was loaded. Starts with a layer of rice, beans, chorizo, green and red cabbage, pico de gallo, avacado, topped with chipotle aioli. Then on the side is a lime, pickled carrots, jalapeño, radish, and I chose spicy salsa. The bowl is huge,, and i stuffed my face and finished every bite haha; it goes to say hot great it was. The rice and beans are a perfect layer of goodness, the crunch from the fresh veggies, that smoky and spicy (light) of the chorizo, richness of that avacado, and finished off with that nice creamy aioli. Then I hit it with the kick or the lime and extra spice of the salsa. I'm in heaven. Oh then add side tart, tangy, and crunchy bites of the pickled veg. Waaaaawhoooo was my tummy happy. I'd like to say, I want to come back and all their other options such as their soft and questo tacos or biria. However as I am not in Maui much, probably going back for my home run. Hopefully next time someone else is with me so I can try their choices haha. The staff were friendly and food came out in good time. They are located on the back side of the food truck area, so don't pass them by if you just jump into the main area. Definitely recommend them for all who havent.
