I grew up in southern California and being out in Jersey I am constantly craving authentic delicious Mexican food. I have tried many places out here, but they seem to fall short, except this little restaurant. We stopped in mid week for lunch. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were very welcoming. The chips and fresh salsa was delicious. My husband ordered the Caldo de camaron (shrimp soup). It was a very generous serving and delicious. I ordered the combination plate with enchilada, tamal and taco, it was very filling and tasted great. I haven't had the chance to make my way back for dinner yet but we intend to. Very average. Burrito was small with too much cheese and very little taste. The chicken tortilla soup was missing an ingredient...chicken...it was more more like a hot drink with tortilla chips. The rice and beans on the side were pretty tasteless as well. I left hungry. read more

If you are looking for Mexican food, and you cringe at the thought that some people consider Chili's or Taco Bell "mexican", then you need to get over to Fiesta Mexicana. It may be a good thing that this place is a 30+ minute drive for me, as I'd probably eat there at least four times a week and put myself into debt (though it's not "that" expensive). The "mole" dishes are to-die-for, and the green salsa that comes with the chips I could down in shot glasses. Stopped in on my way to the shore for a margarita, ended up ordering because it smelled so darn good in the restaurant. They don't have a bar seating area but that didn't bother me. I explained to the hostess that I was only having one beverage, but she was still happy to see me. I told her I was slightly rushed, as I asked how long a simple food order would take, she explained that it might be 10-15, due to the fact it was a Friday night/holiday weekend and they were busy. My food came out in about 5-7 minutes, I got a crab and shrimp tostada, which were super delicious and fresh tasting. I will go out of my way to take this way to the shore again so that I may stop for dinner. The only kind of negative is that their table salsa is weirdos? If you patron, you'll see what I mean, but they were yummy, just different. I had Melissa as a server and she was AWESOME, I will definitely go out of my way to come back!! So upset. Had the worse service ever. First, they brought my husband out the wrong food for his appetizer. Then, they brought out my dinner entree at least twenty minutes before my husband's. I got salad, so i just waited to eat it, but it was half the size of any other time i had come there. Then, they charged extra for the table salsa (sauce with chips), and also extra, for my coffee refill this time. I thought this was odd because in the twenty years we have been coming here, at least once a week, we have never been charged. So, I asked the lady at the register if that was normal, because we had never been charged before for them, and was barked at by this women ringing me up that it was. She acted like we were trying to steal food or something. Look here the thing, I think if you're going to charge for things that are normally free everywhere else, and that you have never charged for before, then maybe you should explain the fee before you bring it out, but whatever. Mainly, I am just upset that I was spoke to like this. I just asked if this was normal. I wasn't going to argue the bill or anything and I actually went out of my way to be super nice about everything. We didn't complain about the wrong food, just ate what we were given. Anyway, I will never come here to eat again. We have spent so much money eating here over the years. We are absolutely regulars at this restaurant so I really don't appreciate being treated this way at all. Completely done with this place. read more

Taco salad for $7.95 was small, bland, no condiments such as salsa or guac. Chicken meat had some flavor, and there was a reasonable amount of chicken. Not much in the way of greens in salad or additions to make up the salad. Coffee was good. However, no free refills. Very busy on Saturday dinnertime, locals must like it. My boyfriend's dad says' "so I hear you're getting tacos today!" Having no idea what he's talking about, wondering if "tacos" even means tacos, I was amazingly excited when my boyfriend took me here for lunch. The menu has a ton of stuff on it but we just went with the basics, soft beef tacos for him, hard pork tacos for me. Both were delicious! And for $5.99 for each order isn't bad either. I love this place. I went here on Friday night for dinner with my sister and her two children. I had a great margarita and their chile relleno is amazing! The servers are always so nice here and the food is delicious--everything really tastes homemade. They have a decent kids menu, too, for younger taste buds that haven't quite matured past chicken nuggets. My 11-year-old niece ordered off the regular menu (fried chicken with salad and rice/beans) and loved it. My sister had the porkchops and they were good, but I'd def recommend a more Mexican-themed choice! The best part of the entire meal though was for sure the milk cake! OMG. I've never had any cake that was so delicious-you must try it if you go! Great place for the whole family. read more

Fiesta Mexicana is authentic, which makes it a stand out and has become one of the most popular restaurants in Hammonton. The prices are reasonable, so you won't go broke eating here, but you'll get an excellent meal! I've been here twice, getting the fried chicken and chicken with rice - both were hot and tasty! The only complaint I have is that sometimes the waitstaff will disappear once you are served your meal and not check in for, in my opinion, a very long time. This has left me and fellow diners with no water, or waiting for a check. Not a huge deal, but I think it's something that needs to be worked on. This is by far my favorite Mexican Restaurant. I moved out of Hammonton, but still beg my friends to go there when I'm back in the area. I've heard over and over that it's one of the more "authentic" Mexican restaurants. I'll admit the service is slow, but it's a great laid back place to go on a date or meet up with friends. Having lived in Texas for 14 years any sort of Mexican (or Tex-Mex) is what I crave most of the time. The place is so hit or miss it's frustrating so even though we live in town we eat there matbe once every couple of months. What makes it worse is the service. They have never been rude they are just either oblivious or so slow when it comes to chips and drink refills. Also be aware to check your food if you order takeout. Frustrating. read more

We tried Fiesta Mexicana for the first time today and it was very, very good. The Horchata was delicious and the complimentary chips and dips (one very hot and one very mild) were very good too. The chips were fresh, we ordered the chorizo and cheese dip and the shrimp ceviche as the appetizer. My dining partner loved the ceviche and could have had a double order for his dinner and been very happy. As it was, he ordered the chicken mole and felt that it was ok. The mole sauce and rice were great; but he felt the chicken might have been prepared a head and refrigerated before being served. It was not cold at all, and it was tender, flavorful but he felt it should have been freshly cooked chicken since everything else was so well prepared. I had the pork chops - chuleta frita -and it was delicious. We finished off with coffee and I had the tres leches cake for dessert. It was very good but ti tasted a little heavier on the condensed milk (than my home made version) and it seemed like only two milks (evaporated milk, condensed milk) were used instead of the three (evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream). However - our waitress was delightful and we were stuffed - the entire meal drinks, apps, entrees and dessert cost $48 total so it was very reasonable as well. Definitely going back to try some of the other dishes - and they serve breakfast starting at 10 am!!!. They are open 7 days, have free wifi and a liquor license. Great margaritas! read more

I've been to this restaurant many times over the last few years. Each time, the food was good and we had great service. This visit, however, we ordered the house wine and it was sweet. The server did not pour the wine, but left it on the table. We poured it and immediately let staff know that it was sweet and not a table wine. They took the bottle and glasses away and but would not credit the bill. A different staff member stated that we could have asked for a sample of the wine before ordering. This was not offered and it is certainly not something that is routinely offered in restaurants. We are now waiting for our entrees. It's 6:00 in a Sunday. While there are several other parties in the restaurant, they are far from full. We were seated 40 minutes ago. We received a queso appetizer and rice 10 minutes ago. Received the food in 2 waves, I'm still waiting for my meal (20 minutes later). The table next to us, who sat 15 minutes after we arrived, are now being served. The waitress just asked me what I ordered and then told me it would take another 10-15 minutes for my order because the kitchen is backed up. I was told they could make it to go. I expressed that I would rather eat w my family so I asked them to take it off of my bill. I ordered enchiladas, not anything complicated. I am very disappointed. I will not be returning here. We are paying for a bottle of wine that was described incorrectly in the menu that we did not drink, and now I don't have an entree. I am eating bites of food from my family's plates because they all received their orders before I was told that mine was not even started. Previously, I have recommended this restaurant to several friends. I will no longer recommend this restaurant. This may have been one of the worst experiences that I have had at a restaurant. read more

Like most of the reviews say, Fiesta Mexicana is authentic; however the quality of the food is very average. I got three tacos including steak, chicken and pork (carnitas). The chicken was dry and a little chewy, steak was poor quality and over salted (actually way over salted) and the pork was a little dry but decent quality. I got the 3 taco platter with rice and beans and they were super skimpy on the beans and a lot of rice. The worst thing about the restaurant were the chips you get when you sit down. They reminded me of triangular shaped Tostitos, horrible. On a positive note, the rice was very good and the soft shell corn tortillas were excellent. I will probably go again to try other things, but other mexican spots in this area are better. read more

We were excited to try a new Mexican restaurant. Our favorite is a bit further (Tacos del Tio in Egg Harbor Township) so we figured we would try Fiesta Mexicana. SO disappointed!!! It cannot even begin to compare to Tacos del Tio OR El Mariachi Loco. The portions were disappointingly small, the bean were cold, the rice was blah, the quesadilla in the combo meal was just a soft taco shell with cheese, lettuce and sour cream, the chips and queso came as chips with a cup of shredded cheese, unmelted shredded cheese. When I called the only comment was 1. If we wanted to go back and pay extra for chicken in the quesadilla we could (mind you, we told them we wanted chicken in it to begin with) and then they said the send the queso like that and the customer knows to melt it in the microwave for 2 minutes... WHAT???!!! A lesson learned... We will continue to take the longer ride for Tacos del Tio's Pollo Ranchero and El Mariachi Loco for enchiladas and quesadillas!!! read more

Empanadas and Tamales - Awesome. A lot of other stuff is good too. Don't get the tacos or burritos, since that is crap made for americans. They do serve it more authentic. You're not going to find a chipotle style burrito here (since those aren't at all authentic mexican). The chips are some of the best you will ever have. The salsa's are pretty good, but the salsa roja has no real flavor other than spicy. Get the food that is more authentic, my favorites are the Mole, and the bisteks. But I almost always get an empanada and a tamal while I am there on top of some entree. I don't give many 5 stars but this place is the real deal. The outside is very nice. The inside is kind of divey but don't let that scare you away. This is real traditional Mexican food for a great price. For $8.00 I got a full plate of food, beer, and I was full afterwards. Down the street from downtown Hammonton which makes it easy to get to. So the food is good. They get your dinner out fast. I never had to wait more then 25mins for our dinners weather they're busy or not. Doesn't take much time at all. But the biggest thing that happens every time is: the servers will stand in the back room by the little bar area and watch ppl eat. Wtf!! Why?? Why are you not doing "something"?? Go clean something or stand where the customers don't see you at least. If I was a owner I would never let that happen. Silver coin is known for the "standing of the staff" so I call it. The best of it is I think the one lady that's ALWAYS standing there is one of the owners. And she looks pissed off at the world on top of it. It's just bad to stand and watch customers eat like that. And for some reason our waitress brought our food and didn't see her again until 10mins after we were all done eating. Now they expect a tip??? Well here's your tip.
