We weren't expecting much when we walked up to this little place but we were pleasantly surprised at how cute and clean it is. The walls are covered in murals and mirrors. Giving it a festive atmosphere. There's a lot of traditional choices on the menu and even several vegetarian options. He had a burrito and enchiladas combo and I had the vegetarian Fiesta burrito. Really excellent Mexican - and not in a place we expected to find that kind of cuisine. Lots of great options, very familiar to your typical Minnesotan who goes out for Mexican now and then. We enjoyed the huevos mexicanos and the camarones (shrimp) and let me just say the portions are sizeable. A good place to drop into! read more

My husband and I had a nice walk to the restaurant from our vacation spot. The restaurant was very busy, which was a good sign. I wish I had thought to take pictures before we started eating, but you can see the portions were generous. My husband had fajitas and I had a combo plate and took home half of it for lunch for the next day and it was still very good. I especially liked the chili relleno and the tamale. Online menu is not current. Everything is 3 to 4 dollars more so since that was an updated the dishes must've not been updated. I ordered fiesta Mexicana which is a steak prepared to your liking. They never asked how I wanted it. It was real thin anyway they made it in the brown sauce, which was not in the description And mushrooms that wasn't in the description either. It was horrible anyway is it even if there wasn't the mushrooms it was horrible you had to pay three dollars for sour cream three dollars for avocado on top of your meal never again you have a business and prices go up you update your websites and menus!!! read more

Stopped in here for a quick bite while watching a dance competition. The wait staff took their sweet time even though there was only one table besides ours. The food and drink menu is very large. I noticed on the menu that if you want guac and sour cream it's an extra $2.75???? I thought that was strange. I ordered the burrito Colorado and my husband got the chicken chimi. After ordering it only took about 10 mins for our food to arrive. I though mine was tasty abut the husband was pretty sure his chimi was microwaved. I was shocked that this spot had so many stars. This restaurant is an absolute gem! The staff were so friendly and answered all of my ingredient questions. The food was absolutely delicious and homemade! For vegans- you can eat the black beans- they are seasoned and so good. AND most importantly, their tacos de papas are VEGAN! No cheese inside! I live in Chicago and that's hard to find! They are fried and delicious! The rice has chicken stock so obviously not vegetarian but I appreciated they mentioned that on their menu. They also have a vegetarian section on their menu! Chips and salsa were good, seemed homemade. I highly recommend this great restaurant! read more

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night with 13 other friends. It's not very big but the decor is bright and cheery and the place including the women's restroom was squeaky clean. The wait staff were all great and super friendly. I ordered the seafood enchiladas with real crab meat and shrimp and they were muy bueano! The shrimp were not the microscopic bay shrimp but bigger and very flavorful. The refried beans and the rice were great. Did I mention the margaritas? Holy delightfulness! We ordered the Fiesta version with a floater of Grand Marnier and top shelf Tequila. Wonderful! Next time I am in Lake City I will definitely go back to this little gem!! read more

Great food and great service. But be careful about parking. Seems the city has marked the 3 spots in front as a loading zone, with white painted curbs and a sign down the street. Anyway it's a $20.00 fine. There is more to the story and the owner is frustrated. But check them out, either in Lake City or next to McDonalds in Red Wing. read more

And then we decided on dessert- one of us ordered flan, which showed up as a large portion with a darkly sweet sauce, just the right hint of bitter underneath. Superb. The other ordered sopapillas, and we were shocked at the beauty and size of the dish when it arrived. It was at least half a dozen pastry "pillows" flavored with honey and cinnamon, and covered with large dollops of cream. It could have served three or even four people easily. It was, however, so delicious that we ate most of it. I don't rave about restaurants often, and have never found a dessert to rave about - but here is a notable exception. A strong 5. read more

This is by far the most well run and delicious restaurant I've been to in a very long time! My family and I went and had a waiter named Marco who was the kindest young man I've ever met in my life (no cap). He always brought a smile to my face when he addressed me by my name, it made me feel special! The rest of the staff is amazing, just like the food! We have been here a few times. The place is fairly small and usually pretty busy on weekend nights. Has the feel of a local favorite. The staff is very gracious and attentive, which is why I give this place 3.5 stars. The fare is typical Mexican food, nothing extraordinary. It's filling and tastes good - very big portions. Margaritas leave something to be desired, I'd skip them unless you like super sweet cocktails. Would I go again? Sure. Go here if you're hungry and looking to eat! Went last night for dinner. Service was ok. Food not that great. The beef is very mushy. My daughter ask for sour cream. It was a $2 extra charge for it. The basic plate of food was already over priced. That would be like going to a burger place and they charged you for ketchup. I do not live in Lake City but visit Lake City weekly.
