Today was my first time at Lifetime and it was a great experience! I came on a friend's guest pass…read morefor the 9:30am AMP Cycle class taught by MaryBeth M. Overall, the facility was large and clean from the small portion of it I saw. It seemed like everyone on the weight floors had plenty of personal space. We were in the cycle studio downstairs, and it was beautiful and clean with probably about 50-100 bikes. Before I review the class, I'll put my fitness level here: I workout 6 days a week, 4 of those days are strength training/lifting paired with cardio or walking. I take one Orangetheory class a week, and normally add in a pilates/full body day. I'd say I'm in great shape, but am not very coordinated. Today's workout replaced my normal pilates. The AMP Cycle class was a great time, and it definitely has to do with the amazing instructor, MaryBeth. You could tell that the 9:30am Saturday class was full of regulars by the way she greeted and chatted with everyone. My friends introduced me and she was eager to help if I needed anything. My friends helped me adjust my bike and get me into position since I had never taken a spin class before. The class itself was the perfect level of endurance cardio challenge for me! I was able to take little to no breaks and keep up pretty well. Since I'm very uncoordinated and not great with rhythm, some of the moves on the bike were hard but easy to modify so I didn't go flying off the bike (I did have a couple of close calls lol). The music choice was a super fun mix of pop, hip hop, and EDM - all super upbeat and awesome to workout to. There were fun lights as well, which kept me motivated and having fun. Again, what took the class to the next level was MaryBeth. She's a fun motivator and easy to follow - one thing I appreciated is she never made references to pushing harder to look better - she always made it very self-fulfilling and about your heart and mind, without getting too soul-cycle-y. She even said an amazing heartfelt thank you at the end, which you could tell she meant - especially in a room full of regulars. On my way out, I also stopped at the Lifetime Cafe for a protein shake. I ordered the body builder (protein & creatine) with vanilla powder, strawberry & banana. It was a great little smoothie, but the protein was a little chalky. It also felt a little overpriced being $10 - but I got the vibe that Lifetime is a little more upscale so I understood the price. Overall, I would definitely come back for one of these spin classes or try another class if my friend has a guest pass! I personally do not need a full Lifetime membership at this stage in my life, but it's definitely something I would consider in the future.

In order to visit the pool, you get a wrist band from the LTF staff just before the door to the pool. The staff who work this area are awesome! I did a ton of research when l started looking for a personal trainer and interviewed several trainers in person. While they were all great in their own right, Lenora stood out among the rest. She has a solid education backing her training up and truly approaches it in a holistic way, which was exactly what I was looking for. So far she has helped me greatly! We are working through some postural issues I have and she is really great during every session making sure we are doing the right exercises to help strengthen and balance my body and changing something if it isn't working. Lenora really knows her stuff. She also helps me out nutritionally and is very educated in this as well. She makes workouts fun, but also kicks your a$$. She is very good at helping you learn to push yourself and cheering you on the whole way. She finds out what really motivates you and utilizes that in your sessions. She's firm, yet gentle and nurturing at the same time. Basically, she is amazing. She is changing my body, mind and spirit....my whole life! I will be continuing to work with her for a while. She is also guiding me through training for a 1/2 marathon. I have never been a runner, but with her help, I am becoming one...at age 34! I have also lost weight, toned up, gained confidence, etc. I HIGHLY recommend Lenora of Holistic Personal Training. You will not be sorry!

She has helped me achieve those goals and MUCH MORE. She used her training as a therapist to guide me through a time when I was in a toxic unsafe work environment and trying to keep depression at bay. I could text her a nutrition question and know her answers were based on the latest research! On top of all her technical skills, she is one of the kindest, high integrity people I know. Anyone would benefit from working with and knowing Lenora. Although she has moved across the country, I still have a weekly check in with Lenora that helps me to keep on track. Her advice is always spot on!

On one side there is a 24/7- access area with a nice variety of cardio and strength equipment. The other side is where classes take place. I have been attending classes for the past month and have never had more fun than I am here. I've tried many kickboxing, boxing, HIIT, lifestyle gyms in Metro area and none compare to GIDF. The staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. They have genuine interest in getting to know all customers. They're well educated in training techniques and exercises; if modifications to skills are needed, they always accommodate. In the realm of small gyms, this Snap location is really really fantastic…read more One thing sets it apart from the others, and that's the very recent remodeling of the "studio" area they had to an open strength training area, complete with 3 Rogue power racks, boxes, rings, barbells, medicine balls, etc. There is turf as well and a sled push/pull, several rowers and a couple of those air bikes. Not to mention a coveted GHR machine (which I mostly see getting used as an ab machine somehow). If I recall correctly they bought this equipment from a local Crossfit box that closed up. The addition of this equipment made it an easy decision for me to make it my primary Snap for my lifting days (also it's only 8 minutes from my house). I have my own barbell and store it there with the rest (although mine has a lock on it ;)). The problem with a lot of small gyms like this is they either have 1 or no racks, the racks don't quite sit at the height you need them, and/or you're forced to stare yourself down in a mirror which is always a peeve of mine. The benefit of the Rogue racks is you can set the hooks facing towards the mirror or toward the far wall instead. Along with this equipment they also added in Crossfit style classes in the morning and evenings. It's a good group and I've never had issues sharing the space with them while a class was going on. There's a bluetooth speaker mounted in the corner and you can stream your own music to it if you desire. The rest of the gym is clean and spacious. Plenty of cardio equipment and targeted strength machines along with free weights. Like most Snaps there are no lockers just the cubbies by the front door, but I have not had issues with my stuff being taken/messed with. The employees and trainers are all super friendly, as is the clientele. Since I usually go in the evenings or early mornings, the parking lot is never full since the other businesses next to it are usually closed for the day/not open yet. The pricing is fair, and is even better if you happen to have a health insurance that gives you the whole "$20 discount if you go at least 12 times". If you're looking for a gym to get/keep fit and don't need the amenities of a larger gym (like a pool or basketball court), this place will meet all your needs!
