Failing that, there is a multistorey car park next to the hotel for which there is a discounted fee of £15 for hotel residents. It is a shame that the pool has been closed for a number of years, but I understand the reason as it primarily due to the running costs. All the staff I met were great. Slight problem was that my credit card hadn't been requested to add extgras, this was rectified later. I paid for a stocked minibar, it appeared to be chargeable to the room any items removed. It ws only just before checkout that I found that this wasn't the case. The signage in the fridge was confusing. Nevertheless a good size room and a comfortable bed. Although, my wife complained about the hard pillows.....I didn't find them to be a problem. I'm sure the hotel would have rectified them for my wife, if she had asked. I was recognised as a Diamond Elite member and breakfast was therefore included free of charge. The breakfast offerings were great, unfortunately, I didn't see the porridge in time and had cereal. Not the end of the world. Would I stay there again? Yes.

It is also a good spot to call in and have a drnk/ something to eat in the afternoon or evening. Well worth a visit and located near the quaint village of Castle Donnington where you will find a healthy helping of traditional but tastefull English pubs!

On walking in I was given a warm welcome and instantly offered drinks and despite there being a traditional bar, I never had to step a foot near it as the waiting service was second to none. The Lounge/bar offers the ideal environment for pre-dinner drinks and houses a relaxing log fire where we were served drinks and ordered our food before being taken to our table which is a nice touch. The menu is short yet varied and boasts 100% all local produce and locally reared meats. Freshly baked bread with dipping oils were offered complimentary and on the table when we sat down. The food was presented in an artistic fine-dine style and the portion sizes are good and filling. The price is defiantly appropriate to the service and excellent food and I will definitely be going back! I would also recommend pre-booking.

The staff were so excellent in helping us prepare for our time there, helping us come up with a menu specific for the occasion and putting in so much work to get the place looking beautiful! The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The restaurant area has a more sleek feel to it whereas around the bar there are open log fires and on one side, the bar is uniquely stocked/held up with an array of books - wonderfully unique! We have eaten there on other occasions and the service always feels more personalised than a more "corporate" place - must be a very friendly staff team all round! They are also involved in local initiative such as making record-breaking size pork pies... Definitely eye-catching! Friends of ours had heard that this place, 4-5 years back didn't have a good reputation... From our experiences the change in ownership/management has definitely pulled off a masterstroke!

The Mill has a couple of function rooms and an attached hotel also. The decor inside is nice and they have a restaurant section though I've never been in. Despite having a poor time last we haven't given up on the place - if they can or have sorted these little problems out it would be a 5 star place to go as a family.

This is a slightly worn looking Travelodge in a fantastic location in a quiet road right near the…read morecentre of Leicester. Try not to wander into the casino instead. The rooms are typical Travelodge, basic, cosy and comfy. I have always liked them. I don't need a flashy hotel room. 2 towels is not really enough for a family room mind you, although I expect you can ask for more if you can be bothered. Also 1 bar of soap between the bath and the sink means you probably should be bringing your own shampoo/shower gel. Foodwise there are a lot of quite cheap options that you can get here and they do have a bar (although it is not especially good). I would avoid the overpriced crisps/just add water meals in the vending machine if I were you. During my visit they seemed to have a lot of technical problems. On arrival the booking system was not working so we had to check in manually. This was not in any way inconvenientand nor was one lift being out of order, because the other one was working just fine. In the end though these issues mean that I can't give more than 3 because the 3rd technical issue I encountered was a royal pain. Twice, during a 36 hour stay, my room card somehow became unsynchronized or unset somehow from the room. This meant I could get in through the first door and get up to my room, before not being able to get in and having to go back to reception. That was really irritating. I'd stay here again though..the location is superb for going out or shopping and you generally know what you're getting with Travelodges

The breakfast room had a lovely view of the turn in the canal. You can easily walk into Nottingham centre along the canal too, where you can get to the cool bars that are on the canal. If you go along canal the opposite way you will meet the Trent river and have a smashing view of Notts Forests City grounds. It's a nice walk too, during which we saw a family of Canada Geese. I guess it'd be a pretty handy hotel for the of Notts Forests games, as well as any of the cricket games at Trent Bridge.

They do a dinner/breakfast deal for £23.99, and as the breakfast is all-you-can-eat, this was a pretty good deal. Free Wi-fi in the bar and reception areas too.
