I contacted Smile Plumbing to help install a gas line so I can change out my electric stove to gas…read more Sean was quick to reply to my message, and showed up the next day to evaluate. He gave a very fair estimate and we scheduled for a couple days out to allow for my new stove to be delivered. He took care of everything from pulling city permits, scheduling inspections and making sure my new stove was installed and ready to go for me with minimal down time. I'm thrilled to have such an awesome plumber to call for all my future needs. I highly recommend Sean for anything you need. I can't say enough about how wonderful and easy every aspect of the service has been.

Sean from Avid plumbing was an amazing referral from a handyman of mine and I highly recommend him…read more Sean has a work ethic that you don't see often anymore, it was very refreshing. He is so polite, very professional, communicative and take so much pride in his work. He was apprehensive at first to do an outdoor shower for liability purposes, but still came to spec the job, which I really appreciated. He ended up taking the job and was exciting about the challenge and the design and went as far as doing research on how he could make the water valves safe from freezing in the winter. He just went above and beyond every step of the way. I really appreciated the complementary home inspection of all the plumbing inside and outside the house PRIOR to starting any work. That was so smart and so nice and it actually turned out to be a life saver for me when he found a pin hole leak in a pipe underneath my house that had been leaking for weeks! I am not sure anyone else would have found that. Needless to say, he ended up fixing that, saving me a disaster down the road and getting the shower done in two visits. He worked non-stop all day, is very clean and neat and takes so much pride in his work. I highly recommend him! I am very happy :)

I can't recommend Jesse highly enough. He's an independent plumber and also a neighbor, and I…read moreoriginally found him through another neighbor's recommendation -- and he has been exceptional every step of the way. When a Costco refrigerator delivery exposed a water leak in the refrigerator line, it became an emergency situation because the refrigerator couldn't be installed until the leak was fixed. Jesse came right out, handled the repair quickly and professionally, and did not charge an emergency fee. While he was there, he also found and repaired a leak to the dishwasher at a very fair price and even fixed a leaking tub issue at no charge, which really speaks to his integrity. More recently, when my water softener started having issues, Jesse stopped by just to turn it off so it would stop recycling -- again with no service charge. He later installed a brand-new water softener, with excellent workmanship, very reasonable pricing, and his usual friendly, easygoing personality. It's rare to find someone who is skilled, honest, responsive, and genuinely kind. Jesse is all of that. If you value supporting local, independent tradespeople who truly care about their work and their neighbors, Jesse is exactly the kind of professional you want to call. I trust his work completely and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a plumber they can truly rely on.

This business is part-time with the owner operating from his home with his son apprenticing. I had…read morea walk-in shower temperature mixing valve that was failing and I couldn't get the handle set screw removed to inspect it. This rounded out the Allen head socket and I informed the owner about this when I scheduled. First the good. The owner scheduled me directly for a few days out, availability was good. He kept the appointment on time and communicated that he was on his way. He is competent, experienced, and licensed with the State of Idaho. He fixed the problem by replacing the mixing cartridge but had to destroy the handle to remove it because of the set screw damage. The finish quality is good. The bad: he is not totally transparent about his pricing. When scheduling, I asked what his hourly rate was and he refused to disclose that, telling me that he prefers to work on a unit price basis and gave me an estimate of $325 for the job with a $175 call-out fee minimum. When he arrived, he determined that he would have to drill out the set screw and buy a new shower kit (head, finish nipple, faring, valve handle, and valve faring plate. At that point I should have asked him what he was going to charge for the extra work. When he was done with the job, he paused, contemplating what he was going to charge me and ended up doubling the price. He did not detail the cost of materials or time on the invoice so there is no way of knowing if he marked materials up or whether he was covering time until his next job. So, if you want a competent plumber but one who may take advantage of your situation and charge a price with a comfortable profit for him at no risk, then he is your man. I was probably overcharged (on a competitive basis) but the job was only a couple of hours so it was limited in any case.
