Stay clear of this company. Veterans Plumbing came to the house on June 25,2026 to deal with a low water pressure issue on a hose bib at the rear of the house and to install a Woodford valve on the other side of the of the home to run household water to the irrigation system should we run out of canal water in this drought. The work was completed that day and Veterans plumbing was paid in full $ 1575.00. After Ian left I went to wash the patio and did not have enough pressure to wash the patio. When we hooked up the Woodford valve to the irrigation system there was no pressure to run the irrigation system. Ian came back out on July 1st 2026 and tried to resolve the issues even calling in to his boss to try to remedy the problem. nothing got resolved. I decided to get another onion by another plumbing company. I discovered in the first half hour with the other plumbing that the hose bib valve that was put in for about 485.00 was defective, once replaced full water pressure was established. As we continued to look at Veterans Plumbing work we discovered that when the Woodford valve was installed for the irrigation they had taped into a 3/4 inch line feeding the bathroom with softened water. Not only would this of killed all the planting and lawn in the Newley installed landscaping but it was not sized correctly to get the pressures needed. I called into the office and told them what I was dealing with and a very unprofessional were sorry was all I got. The Ian that work in the office said well I am not a plumber I just schedule, did not offer a refund or to speak with anyone else in the company. This is a very poorly run outfit that has no Idea what they are doing and are charging prices for a well experienced plumber. ALL IN I PAID $1575.00 FOR A JOB THAT I AM NOW REDOING. STAY AS FAR AWAW AS YOU CAN FORM VRTRANS PLUMBING UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. read more

I did not employ Veterans Plumbing therefore the three stars, basically not good or bad. I was reluctant to pay $189.00 for an estimate on the work to be done. I am sure they are probaby a good contractor but I cannot review that portion. read more

We had to have our plumbing replaced because it was polybutylene. Veteran's did it less then the estimated time. They were on time, cleaned up every day, and very professional. The cost was much lower then a neighbor, who had the same thing done, paid and I highly recommend them. read more

My wife and I just moved to Star, ID, from Orange County, CA. We have a new home with a tankless water heater and wanted to augment it with a water softener system. We had a soft water system in CA and really liked it, believing that it was better for our skin and better for our plumbing. I solicited estimates from three companies. I was most impressed from John at Veteran's Plumbing with his presentation. He had a straightforward and no-pressure approach, just giving me the different options that he could provide me in terms of soft water and reverse osmosis. Ultimately, I chose the middle-of-the-road model water softener and opted to wait on the RO systems for now. Ian came out as scheduled to install. He was nice and professional, and it didn't take him long to complete the job. John and I had discussed replacing some galvanized fittings for brass or stainless steel. Ian advised that I could wait on replacing these, as my house was new and not in urgent need. This saved me money, and earned more of my confidence in Veteran's Plumbing. Our traditional hot water tank sprung a leak on Presidents Day in 2023. We called Veterans (only ones open) and they came out stopped the leak and we decided to replace both of our tanks with tankless water heaters. Had a couple of scheduling issues but the job was completed by early March. It never worked as good as the traditional tanks but gullible us believed all the "reasons" for the inefficiency. Fast forward to current issue either all hot water or all cold water. We called the manufacturer who advised us Meridian Plumbing is their recommended repair plumber. They are here for a second time in three days and it appears that we will most likely have to have all the multiple lines running every which way replaced. Won't ever use Veterans again. read more

I really appreciated that they could leave me a vm (when I missed their call) with a quote for a new sink garbage disposal, based on my description of the symptoms in a vm to them. That saved us both time and energy and them money! And yet I was more sure that a simple replacement would fix the weird electrical thing that was happening after another repair person had actually been to the house for a quote by the time I heard their vm. But quoting $450 or whatever it was for a $200 part and an hour or so in labor was WAY EXCESSIVE labor prices, and it was $150 more than I ended up paying to another 5-star business, and they weren't going to be able to get to my job until after the weekend. Excessive pricing for basic jobs has become the norm in our area and it's ridiculous when basic jobs are probably (or should be) any contractor or repair person's bread and butter, not the "upgrade" jobs that many of us can't afford and most don't really need. read more

We needed to call twice for leak emergencies (created by the plumbing sub used by the general contractor when this custom home was built) and once to install a missing component that same sub omitted. (Our next door neighbor used to own a plumbing company and when he saw the missing component, required by code, he asked "Did a licensed plumber do this?" Welcome to the slipshod work of the contractor I will not name.) A little over a year ago when we had a leak emergency and to mitigate we had to turn off the house water we were in a pickle because it was a Friday afternoon and the two services my husband called had no openings until Monday or Tuesday of the following week, emergency or no. Veteran's was then recommended to us by an interior designer who said they were the best for responsiveness and quality of work. We called Veterans and after explaining the emergency they managed to fit us in late on Friday afternoon and fixed the problem. Same this time when a bigger sized leak caused a lesser emergency. Because for this one while it meant my hubby had to turn off the water line to our water heater, where the leak was, so we didn't have hot water for morning showers, we did have cold water into the house to use. (As aside, thank goodness for my hubby's timing of taking out the trash on a Sunday night to see this leak shooting water at the garage wall that backs to the inside mudroom wall as there would have been water infiltration inside the house if we had been away when it happened.) Although Veterans has voicemail for emergency dispatch service for true emergencies, this was not one of those and so we called at 8:00 a.m. on Monday and explained the situation. They scheduled an appointment for the following day but assured us they understood the problem and would do their best to get someone out that day. Within a couple of hours Mike from Veteran's had arrived explained what had caused the problem, the wrong kind of fitting was used for the copper piping causing a chemical reaction that led to the leak, and restored our access to hot water. We will have Veterans out again in a few days to replace a recirculating pump associated with the hot water heater. (As aside, that recirc pump means when we turn on hot water anywhere in the house it is instantly hot, no wasteful running water waiting on warm up. When we built a house 20 years ago in another state and the builder recommended this which was new to me, he said I would think good thoughts of him every time I stepped in a shower at home. He was not wrong and that was three houses ago and we've used recirc pumps every since. . ;-)) When Mike gave my husband the estimated price for parts and labor, this is a complete replacement of pump and lines, to change it out from the galvanized fittings (which led to the corrosion failure that cause the leak) to stainless fittings (which is what should have been used originally) we expected it would be "spendy" so we weren't surprised by the price. When Mike said he would understand if we wanted to check this out with others for pricing given it was a bigger ticket item, my hubby said no need, Veteran's always was responsive to emergencies, always did the work right and we absolutely trust them to provide pricing in the ballpark that allows their excellent business to function and treats customers fairly. We are grateful customers for the business' integrity and a Veteran's Plumbing customer gets what they pay for and then some. read more

Overall, I would gladly work with Veterans plumbing again. Dropping a star for a couple of minor things. When I called, I was clear with dispatch that this was likely going to be a two person job because of the length of the sewer line, that it would likely require a machine that would cut roots and that the cleanout was in a basement. That wasn't communicated to the tech who showed up alone. Thought I was going to need the main sewer line cleared. The tech assessed the situation and started with a smaller snake. Turns out that's all that was needed. I wasn't particularly concerned about not wearing a mask, but the tech didn't ask if I preferred that he did. Given the level of concern back in January, it would have been appropriate to ask. read more

Very Satisfied, Veterans installed a -Reionator Pro Softener back in July. Upon installation Ian unclogged a drain where the water softener drained for an additional cost. This company was prompt and helpful Bc of my mess I created pretending I was a plumber. I epoxied the bathroom shower tile and took the faucet and hardware off the shower. I realized this was a project I couldn't do Bc the faucet was leaking and wouldn't stop. I got in a jam and ran around like a crazy person trying to find the exterior parts of the shower at Lowe's, Home Depot, Grovers, and the Plumping Supply Store to fix the shower. I bought what I was told would work. This house was built in 1992 with American Standard parts. I had it!!!! so called veterans, they were super nice and sent Sean within an hour. Sean had to run and go get his "own" parts from Nampa, that look newer, more modern and a give a more updated look (this took 1 hour). There was no plumbing that needed to be fixed behind the tile. I'm not familiar with plumbing cost, the plumber said it was 125 an hour. I had to run to work so let the man do his work. The bill came to $433, $73.56 for the parts and $359.44. 2.8 hours worth of work (minus) drive time to Nampa, mmmmmmm. I'm very satisfied with the new parts, how quick they were. I had a discrepancy with the time worked to fix the parts. I called Scott (owner) and he fixed the invoice taking $125 off.
