I wanted to get a Fidelity Visa card because of the no foreign transaction fees. You would think they would have something decent associated with them. I will gladly take good care of myself and I am definitely not interested at this time, V. -- Swung by Fidelity to inquire about Planning. Arrived at 11am for an appointment, they say there's no record of an appointment and tell me to wait and begin to blame other colleagues in front of clients for confusing the issue. A woman then walks in with big funds (she made it clear she had big funds) and three people move to help her, I'm told to wait and lengthy explanations are given. A Second lady walks in, a woman of color, and someone emerges from the office and begins speaking about her account in front of the people in the lobby "account ending in 640, your account has been closed, there are restrictions on your account." I am then told "it's a slow day and we can get someone to help you, just wait a while." I waited 40 minutes and left. Btw, I drove 30 minutes for this "appointment." I think the staff needs to be retrained in the Fidelity model, I was shocked. I came to this branch because a close friend of mine works at a branch in a different state. I called them from here and told them what was going on...they were shocked and told me to walk out immediately. They said they had never heard of anything or seen anything like that in a fidelity office. I had the feeling they were poorly trained by management in customer care and they have more fear in their eyes than enjoyment of their job. read more

I had a very pleasant experience at the Fidelity location. Just relocated to this area and received a rollover contribution check that needed to be deposited into my account. I didn't have an appointment, and there was a young gentleman who greeted me right away, and was able to assist me. After presenting my ID, he was able to deposit the funds into my account and when I asked if I could take some time to ask questions, he made the time to chat with me. Which gave me a sense of peace because I've been having issues logging into my online account. He was able to give me an idea of what my money's been doing, and was kind enough to help me find my account information so I could login when I get back home. Overall, not a bad experience. Also, just for those who are driving over do not pay for parking on the street. They do have their own parking to the side of the building, it's a little hard to see the entrance, but please do not pay for your parking on the street. read more

Opening an account at Fidelity is very easy, minimums are low, and those two points work very much in their favor. Also, in their favor is the fact that they have their own parking lot, which makes visiting to make deposits very easy. I don't love the general inattention to detail. I routinely have to double check my statements to confirm that deposits were made on the correct dates, and in the correct amounts, to the correct accounts. This is not always the case. When there are problems, they are quick to point the finger back at you, including where I have done exactly as they instructed in the error be try clearly fell squarely on their shoulders. Once they do admit it was their fault, they will do nothing to correct it. Inertia is what keeps me there tbh. It's too much of a pain to move my retirement account. read more

Jade Visconti, a Financial Consultant at Fidelity Investment, Pasadena HUNG UP on me while he had been on a solicitation call to me to acquire my existing accounts at Fidelity last week. He hung up because I expressed that prior to 2013 - when I took over the control of managing my own Rollover-IRA accounts from other two top Wealth Management companies in the nation - that they have made me loose money by reducing my portfolios less than 50%. And, I was going to continue managing my accounts myself. Horrible that the management companies still collected commission inspite that they had me moose 50% or more. So the Wealth Management companies always do better even when they make your portfolio go down. I noticed that these companies assign rookies to manage accounts. Since 2013, under my own self-managed of portfolio at Fidelity, I was quiet happy with Fidelity Investment Though I do have 4 bigger accounts at Vanguard, which I was going to slowly transfer to Fidelity because of their user friendlier website as opposed to the simple website at Vanguard -- where my option trading account is at the maximum level. However, I did create an additional individual account very recently at Fidelity to transfer more money there from Vanguard. I was also considering TD Ameritrade only because of their Thinkserswim website is so advanced. Now this phone hang up is making me think twice whether I should or not. read more

I was recently contacted by a new account manager at Fidelity in Pasadena, Torian Pizzola. I met with Torian over Zoom, and he was able quickly to create a retirement plan for me. I am really happy with the plan, and Torian's explanations and illustrations using Fidelity's tools made it very easy to understand and buy into, literally. To put a number on it, my retirement worries in terms of finances have been reduced 95%. I haven't had the best experience getting a lot of help out of Fidelity in the past. But, Torian has really turned that around. I look forward to working with him more in the future. read more

I have a very bad experience working with this company and their Pasadena branch. I have several retirement accounts with them. Last year, I needed something for my accounts, I went to the Pasadena branch, I was told that I should call the 800 number to make the request, the branch can not handle anything for retirement accounts. Yesterday I went to the Pasadena branch to drop application to open new 401k account, I do not get any paperwork or any email saying that my paperwork been accepted. Today, when I call the 800 number for my account, they told me that I have to contact the Pasadena branch myself. I am so frustrated, so unhappy with them and their service. I feel like I am been pushing back and forth by the branch and the 800 number. I have been their customer for over 10 years. I feel like I did not get any service from them, I am not important to them. Let alone that my so called "financial advisor" did not pick up my call nor call me back. This is the most dishonest financial organization I have encountered in my 10+ years of investing. They lied about an account I was involved with, saying it was "losing money." The account was up over 50% in the last six months and had gains of more than 200%. The reason for their untruth was that they wanted to take the account and manage it for themselves. Their haphazard analysis didn't take into account that there were unrealized losses from a previous Fidelity manager - all they looked at where "gains" and "losses" not factoring in when the losses took place. It's really disgusting what they say to serve their own interests. How can you ignore 200% gains just so you can take the account and pad your bank account from fees? They will say just about anything to take your assets - look at their performance it's reckless to say the least. A friend of mine asked about their performance. So what do they say? They said "from March 2020, when the stock market crashed, to March 2021 we are up 20%." What a joke. March 2020 was the bottom of the market and March 2021 has been near the peak. To only be up 20% is a real joke. The market itself was up close to 80% for the Dow and S&P 500 and more than 90% for the Nasdaq. And this is how they pat themselves on the back. SAD. read more

I am a huge fan of Fidelity, particularly my local Fidelity on Lake. The agents are always friendly, no matter how poorly I understand my investments. They take time to explain things and assist with many issues at no cost. The office is clean and modern. The wait is never too long. You can call and schedule a private appointment with one of their consultants. Fidelity's online system is super informative and fairly easy to use. And as a side note, I like their little personal coffee maker and the cookies they usually have out :) Now, go save for retirement! read more

I ran to Fidelity to open a traditional IRA for the first time and was greeted and helped by Dillon. He was extremely helpful, patient and kind. As I couldn't get there until 4:30pm and the office closed at 5pm, he offered to stay until 5:30pm and ended up staying until 6pm to explain the whole process to me and help me turn in my paperwork that was time sensitive. IF YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION, FIDELITY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! I believe Fidelity is monitoring dormant accounts and then slowly selling off the positions one by one. If no one steps forward to question unauthorized sales then Fidelity will eventually sell off all your positions, then close the account and steal your money. The scheme is since the account is dormant and no one has stepped forward to dispute the unauthorized selling of positions, then no one will complain if one day all the holdings are liquidated into cash, the account is closed and the assets disappear. Utterly, disgusting! I have an account which I did not touch for over 10 years. One day I noticed multiple positions were sold without my authorization. I tried speaking to Fidelity, but they just gave me the run around. They told me no fraud had been committed and the trades were initiated online, but I made no such trades. I requested the IP address for the unauthorized trades, but Fidelity replied they cannot give me that information, but a different brokerage firm (Scottrade) informed me that information is readily available. At first I couldn't understand how selling my positions benefits anyone, but then I realize my account has had no activity for over 10 years and someone internal to Fidelity might be testing if these assets have been forgotten. So just imagine someone with a secret account unexpectedly dies, moves or just simple forgets about it. Legally, unclaimed assets go to the state where they will try to find the rightful owner, however, at Fidelity it would appear they want to steal dormant assets. Aside from this horrific discovery, Fidelity has that typical arrogant, shielded culture where their time is more valuable then yours and they refer to their clientele as "Muppets". This is why I don't like dealing with Fidelity, but I did still have assets there I initiated over 10 years ago and haven't touched since. Today I filed a complaint with (FINRA) Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. I have also transferred all my holdings out of Fidelity and have completely severed all ties. If you have assets at Fidelity, I would highly recommend you transfer them out or stay awake at night worrying if Fidelity will try to steal your money. read more

Customer service at the Pasadena investor center has worsened. I went to deposit a check at the front desk and asked the staffer to put the funds in a money market fund. He put it into a bond fund with a somewhat similar name. When he gave me the (tiny) paper receipt for the deposit, it appeared to me that it was the bond fund that he had chosen for my funds, so I called him on it (unfortunately the receipts Fidelity issues are so small that they do not provide the entire name of the mutual fund, just abbreviations of some of the words in the fund name and the secret Fidelity fund number). He insisted that he had put the deposit into the requested fund that I named when I challenged him: Fidelity California AMT Tax-Free Municipal Money Market Fund (you can see why the tiny receipt can't fit the actual name of the fund). In other words, the Fidelity customer service rep lied to me to my face. He of course put my deposit into a bond fund, not a money market fund, and lied about doing so. I couldn't confirm that the transaction was mishandled until I went home and looked at my accounts on the website. Life is too short to use a brokerage that sets you up with mendacious employees to mishandle the most basic transactions. I assume that he just wanted to brush me off because I wasn't wearing a suit and tie, or was the wrong ethnicity for him to treat right, or didn't look rich enough to deserve fair and accurate treatment. To be fair, I've never had a Fidelity deposit mishandled when I mailed checks for deposit to their Cincinnati processing facility. Because of the unacceptable quality control at the Pasadena investor center I mailed my aged mother's monthly checks to Cincinnati for deposit for a decade. Of course, then you are paying 49 cents like a tax on every deposit just because the Pasadena employees are incompetent. This is like going to your bank to deposit your paycheck in your checking account but having the teller divert the money to a healthcare savings account or a CD. And then lying to you and insisting that the money is now in the checking account. The worst banks in town don't get that bad on a consistent basis, the way Fidelity's investor center does. read more

I usually do my transactions via their website but sometimes when I have paychecks to deposit, I come to this location to get it done. There's never a line and the tellers are very quick. Because they don't have many locations to withdraw money, I LOVE that you can withdraw cash at any ATM and they'll reimburse the $3.00 or $4.00 withdrawal transaction fee for you every time. She was professional, answered the phone every time with great follow up, and incredibly knowledgeable about the complicated process I was needing to do. She was extremely patient and was not patronizing when I didn't know financial terms. I was looking at a lot of other firms but Fidelity won my business because Elise was great to work with. She was trustworthy and gave me unbiased advice, telling me about pros and cons in an honest manner.
