You can stay in here with advance reservations and be right next-door to Ralphies house from the fabulous movie, a Christmas story. there are sure to be barking dogs inside, but I'm sure they're not real. What a fabulous place to stay if you are in Cleveland and a super fan of the movie. The area around it has the Christmas story house, the Christmas story museum, and the Christmas story gift shop which I think was my favorite part of this trip. If you are in town, don't forget to stay in the Bumpus house.

Plaque in lobby says it is owned and operated by Carnation Properties. Got a cancellation email from the manager Cynthia Eckrich sent12:45pm. She blamed our cancellation on an error on their booking system. Can't help but wonder if she cancelled me because I paid in bonvoy points.

My daughter and I stayed at The Cleveland Hostel for a 4 day/3 night getaway, and we were within easy walking distance of all the restaurants we wanted to try, and within easy driving or public transportation distance of all the sites and activities we wanted to see and do. If we would have stayed one night more, we would have loved to cook in the eccentrically, but well, appointed kitchen and to eat on the rooftop. Front desk staff were great! In fact, all staff I encountered were all friendly and helpful. I had a king room on the top floor. My room was by the elevator and I was a little worried about noise but that wasn't a problem at all. Being on the 7th floor the ceilings were high which made the room feel bigger. The room and bathroom were clean. The lighting situation was great, meaning, there was enough lighting in the room unlike some hotels. The bed was one of the better hotel beds I've slept on. I got great sleep! I did use the pool and hot tub and both were clean and at perfect temps. The daily breakfast was plentiful and tasty. They kept things refilled right up until the end. I was there midweek and breakfast goes till 9:30 which is nice since some other places end it way earlier. I ate breakfast there all 4 mornings of my stay and it was the exact same every day. Would be nice if they switched it up a bit. The 5:30 Kickback was also nice. It's basically a full dinner which is such a great bargain. Kinda wish that went a little longer, 7:30 maybe? But still a great perk. Having soda available is also a nice perk, as is the free adult beverages during Kickback. If I get send back out here for work again, I know where I'm staying!

The staff working the meal hours checked in on us multiple times throughout our visit. Very hospitable! The free breakfast and daily 5:30 kickback dinner really up the value of this hotel. Each morning a large breakfast buffet is available and an evening rotating dinner menu from 5:30-7:30. The 5:30 kick back also includes 3 free alcoholic beverages. On top of this complementary popcorn is popped from starting at 4pm in the lobby, along with 24/7 access to free pop. Food was decent enough for a free meal. I liked the variety of items available and eating at the kickback saved us some money. The hotel also has a pool and fitness center. I don't know when I will be back to Cleveland but this hotel will be my go to as it really is a great value in terms of cost, cleanliness, location, and amenities.

Old is okay but unclean is not. Simple food is okay but poor quality food at improper temperature is not. A single fresh fruit is better than a mush blend of dissolving fruit. I thought I was treating myself by booking here.... Can you go buy some real food for tomorrow's breakfast? Please? If you have to find a bright side, it's that the floor did not get soaked because the shower is such a low trickle, you can barely rinse off. So if the rooms are at best mediocre, the service is horrible. Not only did they have our reservation under the wrong name ( which caused a long delay at check in, they refused to accept responsibility for attaching our reservation to some strangers IHG number. We explained both that we not only did not have an IHG number and but that they also miraculously somehow managed to get the credit card number correct to hold the room. Immaculate charging. Then, when we asked as a small make up for a 1:00 pm checkout the next morning, they refused because "it was against policy". Pro tip, when traveling to Cincinnati stay anywhere else you can.
