I'm not naming brands but they are all produced by Colgate, Mars, General Mills and nestle when you put in the work and study..... it makes sense why everyone is at the vet with urinary tract infections, kidney disease and dental issues (sound familiar) this is what dehydration looks like If you don't have time time to study you can just walk into Mill Valley pet Food express and grab anything off the shelf because it's pretty much all good the buyers here are very obviously knowledgeable of nutrition and Their selection appears to be curated by experts

We always choose Pet Food Express to give them a shower and this was the closest one. Located in a strip mall in Mill Valley and approximately less than a mile from 101, it was definitely convenient as it was the closest to Mt. Tam. Upon entering, there were two, young female workers by the cash register, and we didn't even get a greeting. In fact, the look on their faces was of disgust...as if we were bothering them or as if we disturbed them. No matter, we asked for a coin and informed them of our intent of a pet wash. The service was cold and disinterested. I can see it from both their body language, their eyes and most obvious of all, their facial expressions. I read these things - years and years of training comes naturally. I'm I n constant awareness and reading people. I get it, maybe they had a long day and it was close to ending their shift and they have to prep and clean the pet wash area before closing time. But it was only approximately 16:15 hours (4:15 PM) and their closing time is at 18:00 hours (6:00 PM) on a Sunday. Anyways, their negative energy lingered as we were washing our dogs while one of the workers cleaned the unused pet washing stations. The way she was cleaning was also off. It's like a kid upset that her parents told her to clean her bedroom kind of vibe. What was also bugging me was the condition of the aprons. They stunk like old mildew. I don't know when was the last time they were washed, but they needed to be soaked and rinsed in gallons of detergent to remove the funky smell. When we were done, we didn't even get a thank you or any type of acknowledgment unlike all the other Pet Food Express that we've been to. Just the same treatment when we all walked in. At least they were consistent. Guess we won't be using this pet wash station anymore.

I take my diva of a Basset Hound -- Boopki, aka Slinky Dog, aka the Queen of Sass -- to Woodlands Pet Food and Treats, and Mary always treats her like canine royalty. Boopki is not what you'd call "low maintenance." She's 50% ears, 100% attitude, and her idea of a bath is lying dramatically in protest while sighing like she's in a Victorian novel. But Mary? Mary is the Basset Whisperer. She somehow manages to charm Boopki into the tub with the grace of a seasoned diplomat and the tenderness of a gourmet chicken treat. Every time Boopki leaves, she's not just clean -- she's glowing. She smells like a lavender field blessed by unicorns and looks like she just stepped off a doggy runway in Milan. And Mary always sends her home with a wagging tail, a soft coat, and zero drama (well, Boopki still tries to milk it for sympathy, but that's showbiz, baby). Woodlands is lucky to have Mary. I would not recommend this shop to anyone…read more I had reached out to the owner to ask about grooming for our pup, I let her know our dog is a senior and requires gentle care, and was clear on what we wanted haircut wise. She said all of that was totally fine and she'd have her best groomer on it, and we booked an appointment. When I took our pup in, I didn't get to speak with the groomer, but the girl at the front desk assured me they had the notes and pics I had forwarded. I felt uneasy as the other "groomers" in the shop were all talking loud, listening to loud music, and dressed in really baggy clothes ( not smart when you're cutting dog's hair). I'm upset that the vibe didn't turn me away, I should've listened to my intuition as this place did not seem good at all. When I went to pick up our pup, her cut was AWFUL. Totally choppy, uneven, and she looked half bathed. I emailed the owner and she confirmed the groomer had been busy, so they had someone else do Twinkle's cut. This other person was new, and totally ruined Twinkle's cut, as well as mishandled her. My stomach was upside down. The owner offered me a 10% discount off the cut, and said she would give us 50% off the next cut. She promised me that it would not go poorly again. First of all, NOTHING WENT AS SHE SAID IT WOULD, and the best "customer service" she offered was 10% off the totally botched job??!! Second, why on earth would we ever trust them and subject our sweet girl to this chaos and lack of skill A SECOND TIME!!?? I said how about give us at least the 50% off this time- but really she should have refunded us fully and either properly trained that incompetent groomer or fired him. Overall, the service was terrible, and the owner was more interested in keeping her $100 than righting the wrong that was done by her and her staff. I strongly advise against taking your precious pets to this shop, from owner, to front desk to groomer, it's all bad.

They carry leads, harnesses, Teckleclub rain coats (the best!), toys, treats, dog & cat food (including our fave SmallBatch), and more. And everything is neatly arranged. I had a lovely conversation with the staff member about the best toys based on the size of our pups and their needs (our one pup is a toy destroyer!). Took home a seemingly-indestructible, sturdy lobster toy, and my pups love it. Of course the destroyer ripped a hole in it within an hour, but so it goes in our house. I called Irene the owner and made an appointment online. Today was the big day. Irene was absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough about her and the fantastic job she did on grooming my Felix. She was able to trim his nails, bathe and condition his coat. She trimmed some areas he needed on his backside which makes it easier for him to stay clean. All her products were high end. He was relaxed enough to allow this to happen. I was shocked. My husband and I couldn't do it. He has never been groomed. This is a beautiful shop and I highly recommend this place. This past weekend, I visited with my family and our 3-year-old Chow Chow, who is quite selective about her treats--she only wants real meat, no artificial flavors. Right outside the store, there's a little 'Sniff spot' where you can let your furry friend explore and avoid any accidents inside. As soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed by two very friendly staff members. There's a treat station where you can sample different flavors, allowing your dog to pick their favorite. My girl Jessie made it clear that her top choice was the Beef Brisket. Unfortunately, there weren't any Beef Brisket treats at the front of the store, but the helpful associate checked in the back and brought us a pack. They also gave Jessie some treats, which we truly appreciate because our Chow is naturally cautious around strangers, but it's essential for us to socialize her whenever we can. We'll definitely stop by again the next time we're in town.
