I love this shop. I drive over 3-4 weekends every month and take a look around. Always interesting stuff. I like the pricing system. It's fun treasure hunting. I've bought several items, both big and small, and I am very happy with my finds. On the previous reviews I read - the one review with the baby carriage is simply BIZARRE. If one is walking around with a baby carriage covered with a blanket and a store employee can't see what or who (or even if anything or anyone is in there), then it is a valid question to ask about your baby. Also, it is bizarre that someone would walk around in this consignment shop with a stroller anyway. Lady, get a babysitter. Also, get a thicker skin. If people ask about your baby, don't take offense. Looks like other complained about not being greeted when they walked though the door. Were they expecting trumpets and confetti? I've always felt welcomed in there and the staff is very pleasant and kind. I like that they leave me alone and let me explore. They're always helpful when I need them. YAY Fiddleheads!! read more

I purchased a bracelet at the Canton store in 2021. T9he salesperson told me it was two-tone (white and yellow) 14k gold. I got it home and looked at the markings. It is marked sterling and 14k, and its mostly sterling as its silver colored, as white gold would be. I didnt try to return it because i figured it was my mistake, i should have been more careful even though I had questioned the salesperson (i thought it should have been at least $100 more) and she assured me it was 14k two-tone gold. It was also in the '14k gold' section of the case. I bought a pair of earrings about nine months later. I know, shame on me. The salesperson told me they were white gold, they were in the '14k gold' section of the case. I got them home and they werent 14k, they weren't even sterling. They have no markings at all. I brought them back and got into a ridiculous conversation with the salesperson. I told them that I had purchased the earrings, I have a receipt that says 14k, and I wanted to return them, as they weren't 14k gold. She told me they have a no return policy or just give credits, I can't remember. I tried to tell her that a return policy isnt for items that weren't as described. She (literally, I think), did not grasp what I was saying. She kept repeating their return policy. I asked her to call her manager, she said she couldn't. I tried to make her understand, but had no luck. Ironically, she was the same salesperson who had re-assured me when I bought the earrings when I told her about my prior experience with the bracelet. I gave the bracelet to someone, so below are photos of the earrings. I either lost the receipt for the bracelet, but more than likely it's in my attic with old receipts. While they have nice stuff and if you get them at the lowest price it's a good deal, the owner is very obnoxious. Besides never saying hello when I've gone in there, I've heard how she treats people when they bring in items that she doesn't want to consign. Brutal. How hard is it to say "no thank you" or "i don't think I can sell it, sorry" instead of something condescending about the item? Anyway, not sure if I'll be back there. read more

I also brough in a couple of hand painted handbags that I originally paid $150,00, they were not good enough for he. I recently sold a well-furnished home and decided to consign many items at Fiddleheads at the recommendations of the stager associated with the sale. I sent photos of all of the items that I was hoping to consign and arranged to have a mover take all of the items to the shop in Canton. My experience was mediocre at best. I had delivered a lovely dining table with six parsons chairs, two of which had custom covers. I had made it clear that the chairs were to be sold with the table, however, the chairs were sold separately without my knowledge, not to mention at a ridiculously low price. When my contract was due to terminate, I was told that I could pick up my items. I had had a tentative buyer for the dining table and when I called to let them know I was coming to retrieve my items, Fran became very upset with me as the tentative buyer had told them that "she had bought the table" which at that point it was only tentative. Fran's response to me escalated and she eventually hung up on me, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt thinking that the call had dropped. I called back and she refused to take my call. In addition, a floor lamp that was delivered and showed in my account that it was still available. When I was unable to find the lamp, it appeared that Fran did not believe that the lamp was delivered and insisted more than once that "She did not recall seeing it." I had seen it on the floor the last time I had stopped in to retrieve a side board. And to make matters worse, one of the lovely Boston Interiors lamps that I delivered for consignment was returned to me with a different shade, one of which is too large for the lamp. It should be noted, that Jeannine did reach out to me and resolved the issue on the floor lamp and credited my account. However, I did send them photos of the lamp as it looked when it was delivered with the photo of the lamp that I picked up, and Fran responded that the lamp was delivered with the correct shade, which is not true. I would not recommend this shop for consignment. They do not market their products well, and if you question anything, you are met with disdain and disrespect. Lessons learned! I do better selling things on my own through various outlets and feel that the lack of professional courtesy is lacking. They just moved to a new location and I've only been to the old location, but let me say... I wish every consignment store was this consignment store. This place is FANTASTIC. Everything is well laid out and fairly priced, plus the longer things sit there the lower the prices get. I have found some wonderful things for myself and for friends at really wallet friendly prices. And they have a little of everything. Some art. Some books. Some jewelry. Some furniture. Some housewares. I want to talk about the set up in that beautiful old house but since they moved I don't know what the setup is like. I have shopped at Fiddleheads for years. Fran, Ruth and the entire team are friendly, courteous and helpful. The store is a treasure trove of curated items. And it is enjoyable experience to browse and shop there. The items are priced fairly. So the merchandise moves quickly. Fran is selective in what she accepts for consignment. The quality is high; and the selection is eclectic and excellent. I have purchased several items over the years, large and small, and very pleased with all of them. And as an added bonus purchasing consigned items is beneficial for our environment. I highly recommend shopping at Fiddleheads. You never know what you may find! read more

from the images you can tell they have more furniture then antique items. but they had this basket full of three dollar items. I bought this bronze bracelet. Put some salt on it to Shine it back up. looked it up and it was supposed to be $20-$30. You have to pay $20.00 to join. They set the price for your furniture then take half. Most times will sell items for short money. They only write checks once a month and not before noon. They don't call to tell you your furniture has been sold, but only will write you a check if you request it. They also are full of excuses on why they aren't able to write you a check on the one and only day a month they write checks. They also won't write you a check if your items end up being less then $50.00, even after they take their commission. read more

We stopped in today out of curiosity after having lunch next door. I thought the pricing was reasonable. Some very pretty items, a lot of glassware. Unfortunately I have a pet peeve over not being greeted when I come into a business. I'd been doing a little yard work before lunch and wouldn't say I was totally disheveled but I wasn't beautifully dressed either. My neighbor who was with me had a question about a vase so we waited at the counter for a few minutes...to be fair the cashier was chatting with someone but a brief acknowledgment 'Hi, I'll be right with you' is kind of what I would expect. Eventually someone else came over to help. Would I return? Possibly. But I feel like I may have to dress for the occasion. read more

Went in after a nice breakfast at the restaurant next door. They have a bit of everything, from furniture, to mirrors to paintings. What I loved about this store was the pricing. There is the base price and every few weeks if the item hasn't been purchased the price goes down even more! Fiddleheads is one of my favorite consignment stores in the area. They only sell quality items unlike other places who will look to earn a penny on any old shit. They have a wonderful variety of items, all of witch are reasonably priced. If you are consigning items they have a site called myresaleweb.com you can use to check your account. Had the strangest experience here on Saturday that left the worst taste in my mouth. Not only will I not be back, but I think everyone should know how unwelcoming this store is. After a stir crazy, rainy day with a fussy infant, and being new to the area, i thought I would check out a curtain store, I had seen and recieved junk mail for. For whatever reason, i couldn't find the curtain store, but stumbled upon Fiddleheads. At first, I thought, I don't need any more stuff, but the other half of me wondered if I was passing up a hidden treasure. I go in with my daughter in her stroller, which was covered with a blanket because it was raining and she finally was napping, and was barely acknowledged by the staff, which was fine, because I was just browsing and the baby was asleep. As I got to the back of the store, one of the people in the front, from across the store asks me "Is there a baby in that stroller?" I was caught off guard because I was like what kind of dumb question is that, but in my proud mom voice, smiled and responded "Yes..." and went back to shopping. So as I'm walking out, I have started to exit the threshold of the store and the lady goes, "Oh, I never did see your adorable baby." Regardless of the intent, the impact was they were tactless in the supervision of their store and made me feel like they were checking to make sure I didnt steal anything. I'll spend my money at the Junkey Monkey, 10 mon away, where they are way friendlier and super sweet to my baby. read more

I have been shopping at Fiddleheads for years! I try to get there every couple of weeks so I don't miss anything. This wonderful consignment shop sells very special items at extremely reasonable prices. I have purchased furniture, jewelry, glassware, many seasonal decorations and also great gifts. We were visiting from Boston and were impressed at first. Good selections, fair prices. We found a painting we liked. It was unframed and very dirty, but a good price for what it was -- we thought. We didn't decide on the spot but took the business card and planned to make a definite decision when we got home. We drove all the way back to Canton the next day to buy it. We turned it over to see what was on the back and saw a hole in it that we hadn't seen from the front. The clerk was busy, so we browsed . . . and browsed . . . and browsed. Finally we went to the counter and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited, while she ignored us. We interrupted her (she was very busy with something in a box) and said we wanted the painting but had just noticed that it had a hole in it. Well, she couldn't do anything about it and she couldn't reduce the price. When we were about to walk out she suggested that she could call the boss and ask. She did. The Answer? Yes, it had a hole in it, yes she knew it, not she couldn't adjust the price. We left. Since when don't you mark damaged goods as damaged (as is)? We won't be back because we don't trust the place. read more

Although Fiddleheads may be very organized in their placement of goods....try putting something on consignment there. You have to just about jump through hoops for the "privilage" of having them try and sell objects. And if you are lucky enough to have something sold, you must call them to see if it was sold and then they only run checkes ONCE A MONTH so shame on you if you miss the check run. You must wait another 30 days to recieve YOUR money. read more

I was so excited to visit the shop. I ended up arriving a little before they were supposed to open and just waited outside. 10 o'clock came and went and they still weren't open. I was just about to leave when I saw the woman pull in, walk up and unlocked the door after 10. I decided to stay since I drove all that way just to go here. I figured I would give her a few minutes before I went in even though they were supposed to already be opened. After about 5 minutes I went in. The woman told me they wouldn't be opening for a few minutes. I asked how much longer she thought it would be since I had already been sitting in my car for about 15 minutes at that point. She said we don't open until 10. I said I know but it's after 10. She said just a few more moments. I'm not sure why I couldn't walk around and shop since someone was there and the shop should have been open. She gave me no estimate as to how much longer it would be and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do in the meantime. Go back to my car and keep walking up to the door to see if I could come in yet? I ended up just leaving and spending my money elsewhere. I assume if my time is not valuable to this establishment the money I planned to spend isn't either. read more

I can't even get over my experience here the other day. Due to the owners lack of professional handling of my diamond ring... it is now missing a diamond. After she "cleaned" it aka scrubbed it to see if it was fake she knocked out a stone. I was SHOCKED at what she handed me back. Not only did she insult the authenticity of my ring by saying it was cubic zirconia which is a complete load of BS - I have the diamond authenticity card. She also bluntly lied and said the missing diamond was always already missing and I didn't notice it because the ring was dirty. Are you kidding me?! What kind of a fool would believe that? No matter how unpolished my ring was I think I would have noticed a gapping hole (where the diamond was). Not to mention, if that were even true she would have never taken my ring in the first place for possible consignment if there were missing stones. Duhhh!!! I was shocked that owner had the nerve to damage my property then lie to my face and say that it was like that. When I asked her to see the solution bowl she used to "clean" my ring...she said she couldn't show me because she already dumped it. So there goes my diamond down the drain?! The lack of integrity in this place is disgusting. So dishonest - just to make a buck. I heard many bad reviews around town that they were very snobby and unfriendly, however; I never thought a small business owner would conduct herself so poorly. Like obviously, if you keep cheating people, over pricing the consignment items, and damaging peoples goods, then eventually people are going to catch on and not do business with you, never mind shop there. People want to feel good about supporting local smalll business', not feel like they have been swindled. I will be sure to inform all the local clubs I am affiliated with along with the BBB on the shady business practices of Fiddleheads "fine" (joke) Consignment. Needless to say, I won't be going back and I hope other resale shoppers will read this before buying anything from this establishment. I can't believe no one knows about Fiddleheads in Canton, Ma! With consignments the way to go, this store has everything your house needs. Furniture, dishes fine and everyday like Limoges and crate and barrel, lamps, artwork, linens, rugs AND really cool vintage jewelry from Tiffany (real not ebay crap) and designer costume pieces from the fifties like Trifari, Miriam Haskell etc, even some Victorian pieces. Right now they have signed Native American sterling, bracelets, rings and a serious squash blossom necklace. Fiddleheads is a little like Filenes Basement in that the merchandise gets marked down each month so you can get a real bargain on already low resale prices. We visited this consignment shop yesterday afternoon. Not only was it very difficult to "finally" locate, even using GPS, but we were so disappointed! After having read other reviews posted on this site, we were looking forward to seeing the shop. We drove up here from the metro Providence RI area expecting good things, and again, based on previous reviews. We do recognize that "everything" ultimately "changes" and not always for the better. Perhaps it is because we are accustomed to consignment shops in SE MA and RI that we were somewhat taken aback by the prices. While there were some lovely, well-made pieces of furniture - and high end brands - we thought most items were overpriced. What ultimately turned us away and disappointed however was the complete and utter lack of any acknowledgment/welcome by the two people who were staffing the store. Not a word! From either one of them. When we went to find someone to inquire about a price, neither person was anywhere to be found! If you live in the area, it may be worth your while to stop in.
