Saul at Fibrenew Manhattan Central did an excellent job in restoring my expensive leather loveseat. I am posting before and after repair pictures of the leather seat. The restoration was nothing less than professional. My leather loveseat was brand new again. I recommend Fibrenew Manhattan to anyone anxious for a professional restoration of their damaged leather seat. Thank you, Saul, Regards. Abass read more

I have two Design Within Reach airline recliners. I have had them for over 15 years and the sun has taken its toll on the black leather. I decided to see if I could re-dye the leather myself with materials I found on Amazon. The result of my efforts was pretty dreary, so I started looking for a professional. Many different companies popped up for leather upholstery repair but the person who had the most five star reviews was a man named Saul with Fibrenew in Central Manhattan. It took me a while to get him because he is busy. He showed up today on time. In addition to being an extremely pleasant, friendly person the quality of his work was first class. He turned my old tired, recliners into likenew condition. I felt that his pricing was reasonable for the quality of work that he did. I highly recommend him. read more

Fibrenew - Manhattan Central - Two leather recliners - Furniture Repair Near Me

We have been unhappy with the condition of our couch and our inability to get out a series of stains. It's been rather frustrating, and all of our home remedies or efforts to find people to come in and repair the problem had been without success. So we called Saul at Fibrenew and explained the problem and sent pictures. He responded quickly, and assured us that he could make a large improvement in the couches condition. And that it turns out was a Huge understatement!! Today we arrived home after Saul had done his magic, and we were astounded at the level of improvement. Saul came with a whole bag of tricks, tools and equipment and I can't imagine being any happier with the results. If we are any example of Fibrenew's work all I can say is they are miracle workers, and we recommend them without any hesitation. read more

Fibrenew - Manhattan Central - A before and after of the couch. - Furniture Repair Near Me

I had a pretty two bad tears in one of the couch cushions on a sofa. The couch cushions I'm not removable, and it was in a really visible spot. Saul responded very quickly tonight email and was able to come over that same week. One of the tears he repaired completely seamlessly; I can't even tell where it is. The more tricky one is just barely visible, you would have to have known where it was and be looking very closely at the bottom of the couch cushion to see it. Would highly recommend this company. read more

Saul did a fantastic job of repairing my mom's couch in NYC. He was very straightforward in explaining the likelihood of a successful repair, based on pictures of the damage I sent him. He was very courteous to my elderly mother during his visit. His expert craftsmanship and attention to detail really injected a second life into the couch and my mother is delighted (the most important thing, obviously). read more

I had bought a high end pearl white sectional leather couch almost 2 years ago. I noticed in two sections, the seam has come undone. I first looked up reviews of about 10 leather restoration companies, and this company was the best. I then attached images (see attached) of my issue. I got very high quotes from most companies, and when I inquired about how they would fix the seams (which were sewn inward and invisible) most said they would have to repair it with the seams now showing from this point going forward, which was not acceptable. One woman said I needed to get new leather on the entire couch, which I scoffed at. Fibrenew gave me one of the most conservative quotes (within 275-340) for 2 3 inch areas with the seams becoming undone. Unlike others, all he needed was pictures, and explained over the phone how he would repair it so it would look as it did before, with an inverse stitch style. After an hour and a half, both were fixed, and he said they would be the strongest part of the couch now as he used strong stitching. I was very happy with him from first contact, to reminding me a few days before, to arriving on time and finishing ahead of schedule. A +, the best service for the cheapest price. You don't find that often. Recommend to all, including my mom who has some leather issues right now with her couch. read more

When a seam on my fairly new white leather recliner ripped open, I consulted Yelp and found Fibrenew. I filled out the info form and sent a picture of the damage, not expecting a quick reply on a Saturday. So I was pleasantly surprised when Saul answered within the hour and set up an appointment to fix it. Saul arrived right on time and worked diligently to repair the seam. It looks like new, and Saul used very strong thread to make sure the repair lasts. Reasonable pricing for a convenient home visit, and saved me from having to buy a new recliner. Very happy with Saul's service, highly recommend. read more

Wonderful experience with Saul! We had a small cut on the leather couch. Invited a repairman from a different company; he "fixed" it horribly. A month or so after, I've invited Saul. He did a beautiful job on fixing what the other person messed up. The couch looks absolutely new- no damage! Saul is such a joy to work with- so friendly and professional! Highly recommended! read more

Saul did a wonderful job repairing and cleaning my leather sectional. His work is top notch and his work ethic is beyond compare! He arrived on time and worked 7 hours straight until the work was up to his professional standard. I have had my couch for about 14 years and it is so comfortable! I would have hated to replace it! So...I contacted Saul. His honesty, professionalism and expertise is inspiring . I highly recommend him! read more

Saul is a miracle worker. We had a high-end black leather chair that was over 10 years old. Our cat did a good amount of damage jumping on and off it- scratches and various gashes. Saul restored is to new. I was stunned. Honestly, I never imagined it was possible. He comes to your home, sets up his work area, and with zero mess completes the job in a few hours. He is knowledgable in every aspect of upholstery. He advised me how to care for other pieces. And, he is a super nice guy. His prices are very fair for the amount of labor involved and incredible results. The added bonus of not having to move the furniture out of the home is makes it even more invaluable. I would definitely call Saul again for other pieces and recommend him 150%. read more

I accidentally spilled rubbing alcohol on my DWR sky blue leather sofa. The damage was extensive. Saul did an amazing job in restoring my sofa to its original condition. Not only was he able to match the color exactly but there is no hint that the sofa had even been damaged in the first place. His repair work aside, Saul was also extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. I would use him in the future and would recommend him without a doubt to friends and family. Thanks, Saul read more

Saul Just left and I had to write a review immediately. He is such a nice person and very accomodating. He was able to work with us with our schedule and so gracious all along the way. He is a true artist! Our leather Natuzzi couches had some wear to them and we were about to try to get them reupholstred when I found Fibrenew. I sent in some pictures and we eventually came to the conclusion that the couches could be spot treated. We agreed on a VERY resonable price. Saul underplayed his talent immensely and said he will try his best to give them new life but it may not be perfect! I don't know what his definition of perfect is but my couches are the same exact color as when I first bought them. TOTALLY AMAZING! If anyone is thinking about getting their leather couches recovered or throwing them out, call Fibrenew Manhattan Central first! You will not regret it! read more

I recently used Fibrenew/Saul to re-dye some faded sections of my 8 year-old high-end brown leather sectional couch and he did a great job. I found Saul to be very honest and a lot more reliable and professional than I would have expected from someone in his line of work. I thought the price was very fair for his work and the service provided cost me a fraction of what it would have cost had I pursued other options to fix the problem (ie buying new pillows from the manufacturer). It was a pleasure dealing with Fibrenew/Saul and I would recommend this company to anyone needing similar work done. read more

Saul is nothing short of a miracle worker. We love our white leather sofa but over the past few years, the sofa because damaged and stained and looked very used and with guests coming for the holidays, we searched quickly to find a new sofa. No matter how hard I looked, I could not find the size and shape we were looking for and in my desperation, googled, leather sofa restoration. Fibrenew came up and when I saw the 5 star reviews and the before and after pictures, I could hardly believe them. I contacted Saul and after looking at some of my sofa pictures, he quoted me a reasonable fee for restoring my sofa. I thought it was worth a try since it was much cheaper than buying a new sofa, and I would get to keep the one I love. Saul is a delightful person and explained what he was doing. He comes to your house, so that you don't have the inconvenience of moving the sofa out of the home. After 6 hours of hard work, he called for me to come look. I could not believe it was my sofa. The color he used to fill in cracks and damage was spot on and although he uses a disclaimer to say he can make it look better, but it won't look like new....Well, he is wrong...He made it look better than new. I sent pictures to my sons and friends, and all those who know my sofa could not imagine that this is possible. All I can say, is if you have leather furniture that you love so much that its showing wear and tear, but you don't want to buy new, then contact Saul. He is an engineer by trade and has a meticulous eye for matching color and repairing damage. The sofa looks so new, that now I will have him come back to fix up leather chairs since they are looking shabby next to the gleaming sofa. Thank you, Saul. read more

I'm going to try to post before and after pics to show how Fibrenew saved my leather chair. Basically, it's an Eames-style recliner that has sentimental value because it's been in the family for years. The leather on the seat was so worn away that I just kept it covered with a throw blanket, because every re-upholstering quote I've gotten is way beyond my budget. The first thing I liked about Saul is that he was extremely honest. He said that the chair really wasn't "repairable" and that without reupholstering it there was no way it could look like new. But he said he'd try to make it look a lot better. So I decided to take a chance. I'm amazed by the results. He worked on it in my apartment so he wouldn't have to charge me for pick up and delivery. It took a few hours and at $500 was definitely worth it. You can't really tell this because of lighting differences in the photos, but he matched the color perfectly. One of the reasons I'm posting this is that he said most people (like me!) don't realize that sometimes leather furniture can be repaired--you don't always have to reupholster it. read more

Saul came to my job to fix a couple of large pieces of furniture. Saul showed up a few minutes earlier than he said he would (definitely not like the cable guys), and he was professional and nice. We had corresponded via email prior to his appointment, and he always responded very quickly. He also had very reasonable prices. We would highly recommend him! read more

A couple of tears opened up on the back of my ancient chocolate leather Chesterfield and I remembered reading NY Mag's strong recommendation of Saul and Fibrenew a few days earlier. He came, saw, and conquered those rips with very effective under-patching. First-class, efficient service and a helluva nice guy. Highly recommend. read more

Saul just refurbished my black leather sofa as well as cleaned up a leather chair. I could not be happier with the results. It is truly like having new furniture. Although he warned me that there would be a stain that would not come out...I can hardly see it. I was impressed with the pictures I saw online but he surpassed all expectations. read more
