There is the barn filled with furniture, larger antiques and trinkets and the house building that has some really cool antiques throughout. I once saw a JFK campaign hat! The prices are fair and they are also willing to negotiate with you. Every time I've gone in as well there is new stuff which I think speaks for the amount of consigners in the area. The property itself it pretty beautiful too. While I wish I could keep this place a secret, they deserve the business. No!" and being instructed with a bit of a condescending tone to put the piece back. A far kinder and more respectful response would have been more appropriate, welcoming, and effective (something like the following would have been more called for: 'no, I'm sorry that is the price I must sell it for, let me know if you're still interested or if i can show you another piece at your price point'). After the reaction, as my partner was putting the piece back and we were already moving toward the door leaving, the attendant/owner half-heartedly offered the piece could still be had (for the stated price), but the damage was already done. Though it is hard to know for certain, and she could have been having a bad day or have this character with everyone and would like to give benefit of the doubt, it is possible that there were some unconscious racial dynamics involved as my partner is a Person of Color. My partner felt deeply embarrassed/humiliated and upset - and the incident left a bad taste. Warning to others and suggest the owner/attendant to examine their behavior toward customers and to treat them with respect and kindness.

Since then, a trip here- was in order to browse and see if we find a rustic shelf for our home office and another rustic wood piece for my makeup, small clutches perfumes, etc. This shop though- is crammed full and screams 1960s Mod- more than any other style I felt. Think more like- 'The Man from 'U.N.C.L.E' (the original). The nice thing about Carol Masters is that you aren't sorting through piles of 'stuff'. But expect to find everything from coffee tables, plastic clear chairs, high stools, end tables- I mean this places isn't huge by any means but has a lot of interesting stuff. All that aside, Twin Jewelers is our new favorite jewelry store, forsaking all others. The tale: I lost my wedding ring on a trip a month ago, and was unhappy about that. My wife and I went to Pleasantville to see a film last Saturday, and she suggested we stop in to Twin. We were greeted warmly, with none of the professional "warmth" that wouldn't save a mouse from hypothermia. It's a family-run operation, and that was a delightful addition. We got friendly service from Lexie (or Alexis), good advice from the sisterhood behind the counter, and I was guided to a ring that was exactly what I had in mind. Quickly, and without any upsell, and even acknowledging that the price wasn't going to be what it was in 2022, I had no terror when the number was told to me. I wasn't pressured to pay in full and was told the ring -- with free engraving inside -- would be ready in one to two weeks. Thursday I got a vocemail that it was ready, and visited Twin a day later. Not all of the same family was at work, and there were customers in attendance, but I was treated with warmth once again; the ring fits well and is bright and shiny. A splendid experience! Thank you, Twin Jewelers! (P.S. The voicemail transcription said it was coming from "Twinkle Waters," which I think would also be a nice name for this business. May they prosper!)

Gregg and Beata saw us right away and rushed things on their end--while never making us feel rushed--resulting in two well-fitted rings we adore, in plenty of time to exchange them at the ceremony. The pricing was good. Gregg also provided free of charge an appraisal for our insurance company, and an invitation to come back and have the rings cleaned any time, gratis.

Clothes, decor, books, DVDs, etc are all reasonably priced and they have a bit of everything, I always find something I like. Easy to donate to as well, and I love that they usually have music from the '70s or earlier playing, it's much more fun to thrift to than most alternatives!
