Kia is an amazing car brand. I recently leased a 2022 Kia Sportage nightfall edition. I've had it for a little over 11 months and it's been great. However read what I'm about to say. Fette Kia in Clifton is the worst customer service I've ever dealt with in my entire life! The gentleman in finance that worked Today June 6th 2022 was probably one of the rudest condescending jerks I've ever had to deal with. I was asking simple questions regarding my car and a notice for payment regarding parking tickets. This being the first time I dealt with a lease I was looking for more information and he was answering my questions with questions. I asked him how I can pay these off since Kia it's self sent me an email and he said "how am I suppose to know?" Really terrible you man. Not to mention the sales rep when I leased the vehicle falsified information regarding mileage. If your gonna lock yourself into a lease or finance, do it with Kia. They are a great car company. Their service department is great but Kia sales team is rude and thinks they are selling Mercedes. Sales person refused to give me an exact quote over the phone and laughed when I asked simple questions about models, colors etc. The salesman (i believe his name was John) was rude and condescending and instead of trying to assist or get me into another Kia model, gave me a quote of $600+ for a Kia and basically said good luck getting your hands on it; they go quick. Avoid Fette Kia and John. Take your business to Route 23 Kia or elsewhere. read more

Before coming to Fette KIA I went to the local KIA dealership by my house (Gateway KIA in Denville), one of the sales guy there was rude and nasty. Fortunately my experience wasn't as bad as some of the other reviewers. The sales team has been pretty good, the manager definitely has that typical "car dealer" personality though...not my favorite. The service team is where I've had my issues. They're not bad but they just don't seem to really care that much about what they're doing. Every time I've picked up my car from being serviced I've found loose screws/parts laying around, grease marks on my interior or something not working that worked when I dropped it off. They do always make the situation right once I bring it to their attention though. I wouldn't say don't come here but just be aware of what you may be in store for. read more

Absolutely horrible service department. My first experience with them was trying to use their online appointment system to set up and appointment for today. I set it up and receive a confirmation email saying that my appointment is set. I showed up today at 8 AM (the time my appointment was set for) and they tell me that they have no appointment set for me. Luckily, they apparently had available spots for that hour to take care of my car. After talking to them, they lowered their OIL CHANGE price from $45 to $40. Mind you, this was only after I had shown them a coupon for their "The Works" service, that includes an oil change as ONE of the few services. How much is that service? $40. So instead of giving us a discount, they are charging us the price for "The Works" service, but only changed our oil. Additionally, because we ran into a problem with our appointment, I asked if it was better to call to set an appointment or try using the online system again, to which the head of the service department said "use whatever you prefer". That is not an answer to my question!!! Their online appointment system is horrible, and apparently needs to be routed through a third-party company back to them, which means that unless you plan to have your car checked out a month in advance, probably not a reliable system. Additionally, when I tried to call them THREE HOURS after I dropped off my car, they did not pick up, though I called them FIVE TIMES. I called them at the four hour mark, only to be told that the car was JUST taken care of. To take the cake, the lady on the phone when they finally picked up told me that I was told to come in at noon to pick up the car. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. The man who took my car when I arrived told us he would call us when the car was taken care of, which never happened, and that he told us to at the very least show up before 2:30, since that is when they close. In conclusion, they had failed to properly schedule appointments, rarely pick up calls (I count that I called at least 9 times in the span of an hour to finally reach them), they take forever for something that would take any other typical garage 15 to 30 minutes, and they will do whatever they can to pull as much money from you as possible. This place is so close to me that I felt that it would be convenient, but after a FOUR HOUR OIL CHANGE, I'm never going to this place again. Also, their check engine light diagnostics is $80?? Just save yourselves the trouble and go find a small, local garage instead to help you out. People and businesses show their true colors during times of crisis and during the COVID-19 pandemic Fette Kia has showed me that they have zero compassion, empathy and understanding for their customers and are clearly only focused on fattening their wallets. I am a teacher who is currently financially struggling due to the current health crisis and I have been a loyal Kia customer for 6 years. After returning my leased Kia Optima this past February, I was hit with a bill of $993. PLEASE BEWARE and do not make the same mistake I did by trusting this car dealership. I have referred 3 friends during my time as a customer and now feel the need to apologize to each of them because I was clearly mistaken. During my second Kia lease, I was conned into adding a "full coverage" insurance package to my plan (which conveniently added another $100 to my monthly payments) under the guise that I would not have to pay a single cent out of pocket when returning my lease, even if I had damages. What was left out of that conversation was that it only applied IF I were to lease another Kia after returning my current lease. Since I was not in the position to lease another car at the time, I was hit with a $400 restocking fee (NEVER mentioned in any conversation) and a $290 damage fee (for a 3 inch scratch on the side of the car). But it doesn't end there - I received an email from Kia Motors Finance in January stating that I had, and I quote, "reached the date or number of payments you originally specified when you initiated your recurring payments. The payment schedule is now disabled." I returned my car at the beginning of February and the salesman I spoke with said I was good to go. I was hit with another month's payment for February, even though I was told, BY THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT THEMSELVES, that I was paid in full. Add on another $45 in taxes and fees and here I am with a bill of $993. The worst part of this entire process was when I reached out to the dealership as well as many Kia executives explaining my current situation and asking for some assistance and leniency. What I was met with was ZERO compassion, ZERO understanding and ZERO care. Even after acknowledging that the emails about my payments were misleading and often confuse customers, there was no flexibility or understanding. After explaining my situation and reviewing the fact that I've been a loyal and upstanding customer who has never missed a payment or even made a late payment in 6 years, no help or assistance was offered to decrease the amount I owed. The only "solution" she suggested was a 30-day extension for my bill. 30 days? Really Kia? THE WORLD IS SHUT DOWN, people are dying, people are out of work and struggling to make ends meet and the best you can do as a multi-billion dollar corporation is give a 30-day extension? Way to show you care about your customers. I have many family and friends that are customers of other dealerships who have been extremely helpful and understanding during this pandemic (waving fees, coming up with payment plans, etc.) and I foolishly expected the same from Kia. I was sadly mistaken. I am shocked and appalled by the lack of care and flexibility I've experienced with a company I was so loyal to and I am writing this review to ensure that others will not be conned as well. read more

One word for this dealer - Crooks. Quoted us astronomical amounts for a $35000 Telluride. $700 a month x 48 months and $6000 down. Totally insane. By the end of the lease I would have paid the car off and then some. Obviously, after receiving those numbers I started to get up and walk out. The "sales manager" who said he was the "accountant" Nick (total schmuck who thinks he's one of the Soprano's) started playing with the numbers. By the time we left he was down to $400 a month x 36 months and $3700 down. Less than half of what he originally started with. Needless to say, we left and will and will not return even if we do go with the Telluride. I would go to another dealership. I've bought and leased many many cars and this was by far the most ridiculous and poorly run sales team I've encountered. Go elsewhere. read more

I'm giving Fette only 3 stars for Quiklane Svc( which is anything but quick) for several reasons. First they're suppose to open 7:30. Got there early was 2nd person in line. The employee got there 7:35. Annoying but not a huge deal It's now 9:18 and My car is finished and someone who came in after me they're done. How do u come in after and ur car gets done before mine? My biggest pet peeve is when the dealer parks cars in the Handicapped space; thereby, depriving a handicapped person the space. This dealer does this all the time. THE GOOD- The sales dept is very good, they have a lot of product and it's the standard haggling not to bad, in the end I got the car for what I know was a fair price, the finance dept accepted 'NO' when they offered the typical add on's. THE BAD- The service dept is a complete FAIL, in my 3 visits there for simple oil changes (the first two were complimentary) the wait was 1 hour 1/2 & 1 hour 15 min and the third visit (I was giving them the benefit of doubt) by going back after scheduling an apt, I waited 55 min and nothing I then advised the service girl I couldn't wait any longer give me my key back, she said she was sorry but Mondays are "rough' try Tuesday's, um excuse me i have an apt that was made with your acceptance, dead stare, so I'm done with them she didn't care one bit that I was leaving, so now I go to EDT in Clifton were they appreciate my business. read more

NEGATIVE STARS. Worst experience ever. Went to see a Telluride sx and was going to lease (but open to purchase) on the spot. They quoted me $1,200/month with $2,000 down for 48 months, meaning they wanted me to pay over $60,000 for a LEASE and give it back. The MSRP posted on the window is $46,860. When I asked why they wanted me to pay more than the car was worth for a lease, they said it was rare and bragged about other dealers offering them over sticker price, explaining they had to make a great profit. They wouldn't budge or do any other lease/financing options while I was there, eventhough I drove over an hour to get it. The salesman didn't even have good manners he avoided all eye contact when i asked questions and doodled on papers while I tried to understand their offer. Yet other dealers (I called at least 5 others) said I could preorder ANY MODEL at MSRP! read more

I bought out my Kia Soul EV lease in JUNE 2021. I love the car. But I cannot get any customer assistance from the dealership. In error, Hyundai/KiaMotorFinance, their business partner collected $840+/- tax when the closing was processed (remotely due to COVID). I was unaware of this till I went to update my registration with NJDMV. NJ does not collect tax on electric vehicles (since 2005, thought someone would have gotten the memo by now). I have made numerous calls to KiaMotorfinance submitted my concerns in writing and followed up with NJ state tax exempt form at their request and continue to make weekly calls to them and to my Fette dealer. I was laughed at by a manager who derided my frustration and despite emails and calls to leadership I have yet to get a return call - requesting that someone who deals with KiaMotorFinance reach out to their trusted business partner (as reccommended in the BBB reviews for said company) It is now 7 months in and there is no resolution in sight and a week after a tepid reply to my most recent email zero concern or courtesy from Fette. I had my mind set to leave with a new car today. We had done our research- narrowed it down to the Tulleride or Palisade. We test drove the new "it color" over weekend, loved the car- disliked the color and the car had more extras than we needed or wanted to pay for. We found a few cars we liked online and called Fette Kia to make sure they still had them in stock and made appointment. We drive in rush hour traffic 45 minutes, with two kids, to check out our new car. When we arrived Tom greeted us and was a nice guy, but knew very little about the Telluride. I clearly said we want either Black or gray with a sunroof. He brought up that damn moss green. I drove it, only my husband did this weekend. My husband shows him on the website the car we were interested in seeing. He walks us to see the car parked behind other cars. Now this one was a little more than we planned to spend. But it had all the bells and whistles. Including a dual sunroof (remember I mentioned having two kids- how awesome). We had decided that it was worth it. I was almost ready to purchase then, but we had an appointment to see the Palisade- which was $5K less, came in "Moonlight blue", and reviews said the seat height was a little better- and it had door cup holders for the kids. We had to at least see it before making such a big purchase. We asked Tom how late they were open (9pm) asked if he was working until the. (Yes- even though his wife doesn't like it.) Then asked if we should call to let them know we were coming back. (No). *** Maybe this is a game people play and aren't being sincere, I don't have time for that. We saw Palisade, we liked it, but not as much as Telluride. My husband wanted to drive the Gravity gray, just to be sure it was worth the extra $. We arrive back to Kia right after 8. We don't see Tom and Estela greets us. Tom went home. We told her want to drive the Gravity gray Telluride. She says, "didn't you already drive a Telluride? They all have same engine." Yes, but my husband wants to compare and we want to test drive the ACTUAL car we may buy. "You gonna buy it?" I said yes that's the plan. She goes and comes back and says we can come back tomorrow. Um no. We said we were coming back when we were here earlier. Now we drove back, took both kids out of carseats. It didn't make sense we said we would wait to talk to Bob. She left and we waited. A nice young man, Kimali came over asked us the issue and said it was against policy to have anyone drive a car that wasn't cleaned. Why didn't Stella say that to begin with? We waited until Bob was free and he asked if Tom had talked numbers. We had chatted a bit debating between leasing and buying since this car was a bit more than we had planned. He said ok and went and sat down. My kids were getting frustrated wearing masks and sitting around for so long. My husband got frustrated and went outside. I was still holding out hope. We were there for the car- not service, right? When it was apparent that Bob wanted to make sure we were serious about buying the car before he would let us drive it- my husband was done. I brought kids out to our car. But I still wanted one more chance ... so I went in and told Bob, we were ready to but the car, despite Tom not really being prepared (Bob defended Tom- loopiness was due medication awaiting surgery) and not showing us the car we requested, several times. Despite how rude Estela was (I mean I am not sure I can put into words how RUDE she was. Multiple times acting like we were idiots for wanting to drive the car, because "it had the same engine" as the one we had drove. I mean, honestly the aesthetics of the car were more important to me than the engine, I am usually the passenger! Bob says, "I don't care, I'll stay here until 11 if I sell the car. I almost cave. I ask if we will be able to drive it- he says yes, just running the numbers. (Not sure why that takes 20 minutes, we hadn't filled out paper work for credit check or anything.) Then I look down at his paper and it has numbers scrawled and he has an added $5,000 for "mark up." (His whole talk about Atlanta closing to make face masks and the stupidity of Kia for pricing this vehicle too close to the Sorrento, making it high demand made sense now. When we talked to Tom earlier and Christina(via phone when we made appointment) we made our price point, model, and non-negotiables clear. At no point did anyone say a $5K increase because of demand. read more

I would give 0 if I could. Everything. Worst car experience of my life. I told my customer rep from minute one that I had a time limit (I had a funeral to go to). No matter how many times I told him I had to leave and that I would be happy to return the following open day, he kept stalling, running out, talking to managers, etc. I was over an hour late to the funeral, and I would have HAPPILY returned. As it happened I needed to return anyway. What a fiasco. When I tried to schedule a time to return, I tried for 3 hours STRAIGHT to talk to a human at the dealership for me to come in to sign the remaining paperwork and I could not find a human. THREE HOURS. I wrote the following email to my rep and his email BOUNCED BACK TO ME. I tried 3 other emails and they all bounced back. Do you want to know how I finally reached someone at Fette Kia? I went to the website and filled out the "contact me" form. 2 hours later someone responded to that. The email I sent to 4 different emails and did not arrive to anyone was the following: This is my last attempt out of 7 attempts this morning to reach a human at Fette Kia. I called at 9:15 this morning to try to set up a time for me to come down and sign the paperwork that we did not get to sign on Saturday for the Forte. I was placed on hold and after 19 minutes and 43 seconds I gave up and hung up. I tried calling the number/extension on your business card 2 times, and get a voice mail that was not your name nor your voice. I called the front desk 2 times between 9:45 and 10:05 and did not get a human but voice mail. I called for the last time at 10:10, asked to speak to a manager and got his voice mail. I left a long, frustrated message on his voice mail, and later found out that THAT voice mail box was on old one and no one ever listened to that message either. But to sum up: I am free this morning until 11 O'clock to sign your paperwork. Since no one can talk to me, I assume that is a no go. I am available after work, around 5:30 today. After that, I am not free until Friday, and I leave on Saturday for 3 weeks on vacation. If no one gets back to me after the 4 different voice messages that I left, I will assume that the paperwork I currently have signed is sufficient, and that all is taken care of at this point. I will be working from 11am onward so leave me a voice message if I do not answer my phone. Your client service at Kia has been absolutely horrendous. At this point, I might just return the car. Frustrated and completed aggravated and it is only 10:20 in the morning, This does not end my nightmare experience. I finally got a call back around 1 pm. I was told by the manager that I could come any time and my paperwork would be ready and waiting for me and that he would be there. I told him I would be there after 5:30 an expected to sign the paperwork and leave. I got there at 5:45. After 6 o'clock I was still waiting for the paperwork. I know 15 minutes does not sound like a lot, but I was told that MY PAPERWORK WOULD BE READY TO SIGN. Robbie that manager came over 5 times while I was sitting there to ask if I wanted coffee or water. Every time I said no, I just wanted my damn paperwork. Why ask me 5 times for a drink? I want to ge t the hell out of there! Of course my paperwork was not ready and waiting for me. Then when I finally got to a finance person, all of my information was entered into the system incorrectly, so I had to wait while they corrected that. Almost an hour after I arrived I finally left. WORST CAR EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE and I have bought and leased dozens of cars in my life. You could just about give me the Forte for free for the 3 year lease and I would NEVER reccommend this car or dealership to anyone ever. EDITED TO ADD: My lovely sales assciate just called me after leaving this post and finished by calling me a C-U-N-T and telling me he hates me. So VERY professional. Went in Labor Day weekend hoping to get a deal on Kia Telluride. Sales lady sat us at her desk and asked what we were there to look at. We told her we are looking to test drive and hoping to lease the Telluride and... I kid you not... her next sentence was that the lease for the Telluride will be in the $600 to $700 range and the Sorento will be cheaper. This all happened within the first minute of sitting at her desk. Without knowing anything about me, she assumed the Kia was out of my price range. Eventually we went for SHORTEST test drive ever. If you know the area, we pulled onto RT 46 and within 1/4 miles, she told my wife to exit and drove back to dealership on side street. Ya...we left shortly after that. read more

When you come in they dont even say hi they all look like they do not want to be there.Everyone gives you inaccurate information. I have to call for an update and im constantly given the wrong time frame( tomorrow, no next tuesday) . I've taken my car in 4 times in the last 2 months because clearly the problem wasn't fixed the first time. The worse part is i bought this car less than a year ago. I have to pay for rental daily even if your car is under warranty, they do not provide you with a loaner car. STAY AWAY From their service department. This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. They have had my car going on 2 months now. I brought it in for a rubbing sound. Which numerous mechanics (not from Fette) said sounded like the drive train belt. Well 4 calls from them in 3 hours with them saying maybe calipers , may be oil pump which we knew was not the issue since the car went for regular oil changes and service. The last call was that on a test drive the engine blew. Really never had an issue with the engine. The truck drive great just heard the rubbing noise for like a day. Well they called and said that Kia will replace my engine for free. Really well they should since you blew the dam thing. So i said i need a loaner they said we don't provide them. After 2 weeks of raising he$$ they have me one. Every week i call to check the status. They tell me the engine is on back order. 2 months this has been and still no engine or car. I am still making payments on this monthly. They have been of no help to move this along quicker. Please please never take your car here for service. I wish I could give it negative stars. read more

I was in the process of buying a Kia Optima and after the amount of the trade in was an issue they were rude and unprofessional. A man who works there( not sure who he was, a manager or finance guy in the back with a beard) had thrown the car fax paper at me when I had asked for it. I can't believe how disrespectful these people are and definitely won't be returning. Also a sales person there by the name " Estella" was very rude, I had to post pone my appointment due to my mother being admitted to the hospital and had notified her, yet she continued to call multiple times. Went over to Fette Kia this morning 5/25/19 to purchase a 2019 Stinger Premium, was told the price $33,500 out the door taxes,license,doc fees etc. ALL INCLUDED. Went to get the vehicle 10 mi away at an off site location when we finally got there the vehicle was not the Premium 2.0 that we discussed. The salesman was nice but you could see he was pissed, all along even he thought the vehicle was the Premium 2.0. This dealership is your typical scummy dealership that implores bait and switch tactics to get you down to the dealership. I recently leased a new Kia Soul for my wife and the team at Fette did an amazing job. She test drove a couple of different models and settled on a fully loaded 2014 leftover. We told them the lease price and terms that we wanted and they were able to meet all of our needs. We drove it off the lot that afternoon. The staff was helpful, friendly and courteous, and when a small issue came up with the navigation system, the service department handled it promptly and with no hassle. They Will NOT Stand Behind Their Sale- If there are problems My situation is likely rare. My car wouldn't start within 2 weeks after I got it (2014 Sorento- CPO), they changed battery and made me pay for the new battery. The car two weeks later wouldn't start again- took 4 days for them to replace a part. 1 week later- car wouldn't start again. They are not standing behind the car they sell. They want to get me into another car of lesser value or have me pay extra for a car of similar value. Bad experience. Sales people were nice, but cold. Felt extremely pressured to commit without even knowing what deal I was getting. After a 10 minute staring competition with the salesperson and his manager, I walked out utterly confused at what just happened. I get it, you need to make a sale but a little customer service goes a long way. I felt so uncomfortable. I will never go back and do not recommend this place. read more

Just got home from an oil change & tire rotation. I've been going here since I bought the car in January 2013. After looking at the checklist that they use to let me know what they've done, and what needs servicing (now or in the near future), I noticed that they checked off all exterior lamps as working. I went in knowing that the driver side brake lamp needed replaced. It still does. They never checked the transmission fluid, and it wasn't checked off that they looked at it. I walk around the car and there's 2 big nicks in the rear passenger door. They weren't there when I went in because I just paid $3000 in June to have body work done from being swiped by a snowplow. The exterior was perfect...until today. No one said a word. Every time I go here, something else "needs" to be done: battery, spark plugs, air filters, etc. But if I don't have those things done that day, they're never mentioned again on any visit afterwards. I haven't changed the battery yet, or the spark plugs, and it's been 2-3 years since they were first brought up. I did have them change the air filters, and sure enough, on the very net visit, the guy comes in carrying the cabin air filter and tells me it needs to be changed...for $125. When I told him it was just changed on my last visit, he walks out to the garage and tosses the filter on the ground at the feet of the service tech, who picks it up and puts it back in the car. This time I was told I need new rear brakes. I had new ones put on less than 25,000 miles ago and one year AFTER I replaced the front brakes. But the rear brakes are a "3" and the front brakes are a "7"?!? I always...ALWAYS...get a 2nd opinion somewhere else for the suggested repairs, and none of the "needed" repairs have ever needed to be done. I have the battery tested at Auto Zone and every time they tell me it's got a good charge. I've had the spark plugs pulled and checked, and the guy actually told me they look new...3 days after being told by Kia that they need replaced. I went one time and the guy told me there was a small oil leak. But he never said if they did anything about it, and that has never been brought up again. After checking the invoice for that visit, they did not fix it.The car is still under warranty. And there is no evidence on the engine or on the ground where I park of any oil leak. I actually thought of going here for my next car, because I want to stay brand-loyal, but there are other Kia dealers around that I'll choose instead. And definitely time to find another service station. read more

I decided I needed a new car early last year. I wanted a Kia Soul so I was pretty set on that car in green. After going to 3 other Kia dealerships, we end up at Fette. I found a few cars I was interested in, however they were on the Fette Ford side (stay away, they suck BAD!!!) After getting dissed at the Ford side, I was going back to my car which was in front of the Kia dealer. The salesmen were looking but scared to come out (I guess they didn't like how cold it was) well neither did we so as we got in to leave, finally someone had enough balls to come out and approach us. He asked if we were looking for anything. I told him dude I pulled up in front of Kia planning to buy one, but when we pulled up, you guys just sat there like we just landed from Pluto, so we went over to Ford and they were Grade A assholes. He apologized and we got down to business. I was in there for 6 hours and the last customer because I refused to be taken advantage of just because I am a female. It was an extremely long process because they kept telling me what I could get, but its not what I wanted. They tried to sell me a very slightly used red one, but nope it had to be green. In the end I went a little over budget, but I got what I wanted with a few perks. The interest rate was great and I have no complaints. They were very friendly not homophobes as it was my wife and I, and they really worked with me and they closed the deal. Every time I go back, the manager Jeff is super friendly and remembers me. When the car has recalls they take care of it super fast, they even gave me 2 free oil changes and a $50 gift card. I have no complaints read more
