I suspect the initial issue of no foam or support was an oversight, perhaps by an new employee? Regardless, the fact that Martha's called and fixed the issue is honorable. . 1st review: We received this bereavement floral arrangement from a friend through Martha's. It was delivered to us direct from the florist. The arrangement essentially fell apart when we lifted it out of the delivery box. The stems were cut short and put in a low profile ceramic container with nothing to support them. No floral foam or mesh to keep them in place or in the container. These photos were taken less than 2 days after delivery and after removing the worst/wilted flowers. It actually made me more sad that my friends paid for this, so I would NEVER want to mention it to them. So that's the rub. You buy flowers for someone else sight unseen, and the recipient in most cases would never share if the flowers weren't as the buyer intended.

When we weren't sure or had questions, Dawn stepped in with excellent advice and photo examples -- her experience really shined through. Altogether she provided the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, tossing bouquet, ceremony floral decorations, reception centerpieces and other arrangements, boutonnieres, and corsages. All were as we expected and beautiful. We didn't actually see Dawn on the day-of, but someone was there to help put on the boutonnieres. Everything was delivered on time and was set up behind the scenes. Returning the vases she provided was a breeze, too. We had been working with a florist before Dawn, which wasn't a great experience. A lot of emailing back and forth without an offer to meet in person, even after asking if that would be easier. And they weren't very responsive to their emails. So when we switched over to Appleblossom, it was such a pleasant experience. Typically social 6 to 7 food is served 7 to 9 and then singing and dancing from 9 PM till midnight. Family friendly environment. People don't get drunk at this event. The only thing I don't like about Cedars Hall is the lack of paintings on the wall. However most of the time weddings and quincinnieras they get their own decoration. Professional kitchen. Ample parking space n both sides: thank you St Bonofacio. Also streets have free parking all around: not metered!

I just had my wedding here on June 4th, 2016. We rented the hall for a large 400 person wedding…read moreand since we live in New Jersey, we not only had to deal with the complications of long distance planning but we had the extra difficult task of trying to get a hold of anyone capable of answering our questions. We chose Cedars Hall because there are not many venues in the Twin Cities that can fit a wedding that large. It also helped that my sister had gotten married there 5 years ago so we were familiar with the layout and location. Unfortunately, over the last 5 years, many things have changed. The rules and regulations are clearly written out but when speaking with the event manager himself, we found that a lot of these rules and regulations seemed to change depending on his preferred working hours. For example, the rental regulations and policies clearly state that "Delivery of food is allowed only during the times of 10am to 4pm." We found in the days leading up to the wedding that on Saturday (Wedding Day), we would not have access to the Hall at all until 4pm. Why that was exactly seemed to be more due to the lack of personnel willing to work on that Saturday. So in the last few days leading up to the wedding, we had to call our caterer, the bakery that was delivering the wedding cake and the liquor store to change all their delivery times to past 4pm on Saturday. In addition, because we only had the hall for 4 hours for decoration purposes, we asked Cedars Hall to provide us with "people who they'd used for decoration help in the past". We paid them close to $20 per person per hour only to find on that Friday that the helpers provided included the event manager's wife and his daughter, including a few other people who clearly were there just to earn an easy $20 per hour. One of the person who was supposedly "helping" us even went so far as to yell at my mother because she asked them to do something instead of standing around. A few of my friends and family who were there to help actually asked me if it was possible to "fire" some of the hired help. Unfortunately, we paid upfront for the help. What really upset me as the bride was my inability to get a hold of the event manager at Cedars Hall. I called his office phone, his cell phone and emailed him over the course of a week and never received either a call back or an email answering any of my questions (keep in mind, I was doing all the planning 1200 miles away). Finally, my dad took the drastic measure of driving over and stalking around the grounds until someone told him that no one was there over Memorial weekend. This person then called the event manager who finally was able to answer our most urgent answer of when we could have access to the hall for decoration purposes. The following Tuesday when we flew in, we drove directly to Cedars Hall as clearly that was the only way to get a hold of anyone there and further clarified everything from where the band would be set up to whether we'd have access to any of the other rooms for changing purposes. Lastly, in spite of the regulation clearly stating that bottles of champagne "are allowed outside of the bar area for wedding champagne toasts only. The Lessee, or his agent, must provide AND serve the champagne." When we pressed on this issue again and again, we were told that we had two options: 1) Either every single guests at the wedding would have to bring their glass up to the bar to have champagne poured there or 2) they would have to close the bar for however long it took for the two bartenders to come around and pour champagne at the tables. This is clearly in spite of their written policy that states that we were to provide the champagne and serve it. I would NOT recommend to anyone planning a wedding or a large event to consider Cedars Hall. I could not have had a worse experience. The event manager there only cares about collecting your money. Once they have your 50% deposit, they could not care less how your event goes. Weddings are some of the biggest and most expensive events in life and Cedars Hall managed to make it absolute nightmare for us. As the bride, I weathered every single one of these issues as well as possible but I know that most brides would probably have broken down in tears and/or threatened legal action for breach of contract. Either way, be forewarned and just DON'T fall in the same trap I did.

Ty called us just minutes after receiving our inquiry and from the first moment, brought an excitement, clarity, and calmness to wedding planning that we could not have done without. The tent set-up process was incredibly smooth and Ty and his team communicated with us throughout the whole process. And the finished product was BEAUTIFUL!
