The work is not only done on time which was a huge deal for us but it was done correctly and put little twists on it to make it even more personalized, I mean the man built my mom stairs and a handle so she can get in and out of the space comfortably with out even being asked! My laundry room is probably my favorite space in the house. He also does small home repairs. I love that it is all inclusive and I didn't need to hire anyone else for what we needed. James is top notch. I had called a few handymen and James was the first to respond. He came by that day to take a look at the job (drywall, electrical, recessed lights, TV, baseboards, new door all in the new baby room). A few days later he had a quote ready for me and we were scheduled the following week for construction. James was clean, easy to speak with, texted me after hours when it was convenient for me after work, and was very courteous to my wife when she requested to have him present when his workers were there. He did a great job, at a fair price, in a timely matter. What else can you ask for? Even when I had some issues with some of the work, he came back no questions asked and fixed anything I had a problem with. He stands by his work and I respect that. I have hired James and his team for a number of different jobs several times. He can do pretty much everything. Had some minor electrical socket issues he trouble shot and installed a number of fixtures for me. Very dependable (which is quite rare in the world of contractors), honest, and clean. I know you might say clean? So what? I don't know about you but I have hired a few contractors in my day who when they show up, I don't really want them in my house. When we first bought our 1924 built home eight years ago, it needed a lot of Improvement. We called Ferris Home Improvement and James came to our rescue. It was the beginning of a very long and trustworthy relationship. He has hung and wired chandeliers, inside and out. He has built privacy walls that are so beautiful and sturdy. In an alcove in my dining room he built dark shelves out of three inch planks. Everyone always notices them and comments on their elegant beauty. Living in the valley, I asked him to hang ceiling fans throughout and he did it! Even though it was a difficult task since there was virtually no clearance in the ceiling for a person to crawl but James figured a way. He is honest and will say when something wont work but usually, only after he has tried every way possible. He is positive, upbeat and will handle anything from the basics to high design. His pricing is fair, he is clean and honest and punctual. I cannot recommend him enough. And no, I am not related to him, just a satisfied client. read more

We have a home built in the '30's and were in need of a bathroom remodel. We decided to tile the walls, put in a new sink and toilet and new light fixtures. We couldn't be happier with the quality work that James did for us. He handled a very heavy industrial sink in a small space and problem solved to make it work. He did plumbing, electrical, tile and framing and it looks amazing. All was done quickly and affordably. I have two small boys with a bunk bed and a hanging light fixture. Without going into detail, I'll say that one day said light fixture stopped working (anyone seen tarzan?). I was at a complete loss and needed help fast. I called several electricians and when I talked to James (the owner) at Ferris Home Improvement I knew I'd found the right people. His team came out the next day and did an incredible job replacing the light fixture and updating a good deal of the electrical wiring in our 1920's home. I highly recommend hiring them! Had a full roofing job done.Everything was done in a day.Some minor damage accoured inside from tearing the plywood off (popped nails from nailed drywall) but nothing to complain about since my house was built poorly from the start.They quickly sent someone out to fix (patch) the nails, No problem.Pricing was competitive and they offered one year interest free financing which is what I needed.Everything regarding the work was satisfactory.I give 4 1/2 stars for the work.The only problem I do have is the lack of communication.Most roofers that come to the house take pictures of problem areas before and sometimes after.I assumed that those fotos would at least have been held for thirty days.I clearly requested that I wanted all pictures taken from them to be emailed to me for my records two days after the job was finished.I needed them for my record and also a specific problem area of the roof to see how much damage was done underneath.I know photos were taken by a few people,but after multiple request was told that all pictures were lost. Was told that the person who took the shots had a phone failure and lost all the photos.The sales associate said I should've requested photos before the job was started.Through all of this I have the impression that once the job was done and paid for everything else I asked for was trivial and unimportant.I guess that goes for most people you call nowadays.For communication I give 2 1/2 stars. Now the real question is..Do I recommend them? I'm going to have to say yes because of the work,pricing and that they offer 0% interest financing for people on a tight budget.But please be aware that you might have to call a few times on certain things because he might be busy. read more
