But we all know how stressful it is to have a broken appliance, and he honestly managed to calm me down and put me in good spirits again with his friendly manner. He called, as he said, before getting here, and his prices were totally upfront (and on his website). He was just delightful to have here, and I found everything about his service to be beyond professional, and WAY more than reasonably priced. He wouldn't have even charged extra for coming on a holiday! My dryer, through no fault of his, was beyond repair, and he was entirely up front about that. There was not one moment where he tried to woo me into paying for a new motherboard or such nonsense. Truly, Anthony is one of the few genuine, wonderful, warm souls out there. I adored him and his service right from the get go. While I hope I don't have to call him again for a repair (!), he is the only person I would call from now on. There are simply not enough nice things to say about Appliance Madness.

The technician (Zack) came out the next day. Turns out it was nothing serious -- either my husband or I accidentally hit the "delay start" button and the "error code" was only indicating that the start would be delayed by one hour! I feel really foolish for calling an appliance repair tech. But while he was here, Zack looked everything over and made sure things were running properly. He only charged us the minimum for an on-site visit. (Thank you, Zach) and even gave us a few pointers on how to keep the dishwasher running properly for years to come! He asks my wife if the office had given us an estimate prior to arriving onsite. The answer was no. He then proceeds to say $179.97. Well, he's already in my kitchen so might as well do what you came here to do. I figured I'd talk to the office later about the rate. Plus the way the tech asked us was as if he knew the price was outrageous. He replaced the gaskets is about 25 minutes - noticed something odd with the closing of the freezer door. He did a little tinkering - no repair really, just opening and closing slowly to determine the issue. Nothing found. Then he stated it appeared to be working again - not sure if there was a track issue or not. At the end of the day, he was there just short of an hour and performed the work expected. Fast forward a couple of days and I send the office an email asking about the real price for 1 hour of labor. I get this response: "Hello Mr Lima, We do not charge by the hour we charge by the job. The job to do a refrigerator door gasket is 179.97. And we installed two gaskets so the tech did both for that charge. He stated he gave an estimate before doing the job as well. I hope this helps. " My name was spelled wrong for starters. Secondly, there was no estimate until in my kitchen. 3rd, it's outrageous to charge $180 for effectively 25 minutes of work. While the service was satisfactory, I'll be looking elsewhere for appliance service. You should too.

AVOID THIS GUY LIKE THE PLAGUE…read more Tony Cunha places multiple advertisements (Affordable Appliance Repair, Whirlpool Repairman, Household appliance repair) telling you that he will save you money if you use him to fix your appliance. He even brags about an Angie's List Award in 2010. I called him, arranged a day to have him look at my washing machine, and exchanged text messages that day until he arrived. He arrived on Wednesday June 12th around 1pm, diagnosed the problem, said he needed to order a part. He said the part would have to be ordered, but he could get it by Friday, June 14th., and the he calculated the bill. The total was going to be $105, including $25 for the part. He was expecting $65, with the balance upon his return. I could not find my checkbook, and only had two $50 bills, so I gave him $100, and said I would owe him $5 when he returned. BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART. He took my money, gave me a receipt for it, and then disappeared. He never returned. Never called. Never replied to my text messages. I fixed the washing machine myself. After 12 days, I gave him fair warning to refund $50 of my money by Wednesday evening, June 26th, or I would make sure everyone knew what a thief he is. Unless he passed away, I bet he is a junkie. DO NOT USE THIS GUY.
