Even though we didn't buy anything, she helped us find a great local lobster restaurant, giving us three choices that locals prefer. Super nice lady! The goodies inside that I was most interested included a miniature tea set that said "Delft Pottery" on the bottom, some very old and tiny spoons, and pretty pocket watches. My uncle was looking for watch fobs, which she didn't have, but if you give her time, I bet she'll add them to her collection... I collect antique dolls and toys, and there were few of these items in her collection, but she did have a neat little trike from the turn of the century. It was just not what I was looking for at the time. Since the little shop didn't have exactly what we needed, I'll give four stars, but I want to say that the kind and friendly attitude of the lady running the store is worthy of five stars! It's gone through a change in ownership since my last review. While some of the items have changed, most has remained the same. The inventory has definitely grown and there's not as many "local Maine" items as there was. But it's all high quality, hand picked special things that need to find a home in your house. They have it set up almost like little different rooms with different tables, couches, and/or other furniture with other art or pieces on display too. It's a really nice way of displaying their inventory with enough space for it to all be admired. While we were planning to browse and not looking to buy anything especially larger items. Due to this we did not check prices of the furniture or anything larger. They do have smaller items you can see from some of my pictures. So even those looking for a lower priced purchase you can may find something you like. We did end up purchasing a butterfly trivet as a gift that was reasonably priced. They had a few little odds and ends, a couple of Richard Simmons tapes and whatnot, but they were more decor than offerings. I did peruse around, though I am not much of a clothes shopper. I will say, they were pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. Most of the clientele were young people getting into thrifting. Respect. Everything was organized well and it was clean. The racks were all well kept. Being from Texas, I have no need for their coats or any of their warmer clothing, which they had a lot of. I was impressed that they had some vintage designer bags available. I know that is a big business right now. I think what they are doing, they are doing well. I am just not their demographic.

Aside from their clothing, both locations (Biddeford store as well) have many odds and ends, including jewelry that is made by smaller companies, some home goods like blankets, pillows and decorations; hats, shoes and belts, stationary, a few baby clothing items and some good gift items. Staff is helpful and there are many that go out of their way to make your experience shopping a good one. Clothing is also online on their website. This spot is not to be missed.

I usually find that the appeal of a consignment store really rests in the eye of the buyer. With that said, Starry Eye's consignment collection is small yet particularly selected with a great many beautiful, quality items at reasonable prices. I should also mention that in addition to clothing, they have a great selection of shoes and even some quality toys and puzzles! I have purchased many gifts there for friends having babies and always get a "where did you get this?" when bringing a gift from Starry Eyes. Tip: The store does not necessarily wrap gifts, but they have adorable bags and tissue paper and are usually happy to fix something up for gift giving. Tip: They do have odd hours, so call ahead!
