WHAT A CUTE STORE!! Nostalgia wrapped in modern entities that are bursting with color! That is my best summary of Pinecone + Chickadee. I was heading to HiFi donut (right across the street) and this store jumped out at me. I love interesting stores. I walked inside and was overwhelmed at how many things there were to look at! Prices range from affordable to a little overpriced- I do appreciate the range. There were things from my childhood, cool stickers (free and a fee), buttons, games, journals, so much everywhere! I really enjoyed poking through this store. This is not a Portland tourist trap, this is an actual store selling regular substance for peoples homes or just to make someone smile. I can share, I had a 9 year old boy with me and he loved so many items!

Alright, so one of those things that you are supposed to do as a loving husband/significant other was to go browse around curio stores while on vacation, and as a rule when it comes to the touristy part of Portland, Maine, they will always stock the same thing A) local pottery (even the ones clearly labeled "made in China" B) Soaps C) Local interest things like the "wicked good" bumper stickers D) Blueberries or fir scented crap E) Syrups (as if I never seen them in Quebec before) Invariably, the curio part of the store goes down and it all degenerates into boring old dollar store touristy consumerism, and the entire experience turns into a forced march of inanity. That is, until we happen upon Pinecone + Chickadee. Well, it's not that I can't find anything to buy here, it's more like trying to figure out what I really want, and what I can live without. The classic video games are always nice, the thotchkes of a bygone age is welcome. My lady actually found an old NKOTB LP record that she knows her friend will definitely want, and I was salivating over the Star Wars stuff. It's not a big store, but it's definitely the one I spent the most time browsing. Kudos, folks, kudos.

I can't even begin to name how many pieces at other (non size organized) stores that I've fallen in love with and realized would not fit me. As a final thing that's sent this into 5 stars- it has been a long time since I've been to a vintage shop with such a high level of size inclusivity. As someone who has fluctuated in size throughout the years (yet my love of vintage remains), being able to shop in the xl - plus range was an absolute dream. If I lived in the area, I would be there on a biweekly basis because I just know I would keep finding incredible things.

Clearly marked racks made finding sizes and designs easy. Prices were good, some items were priced well below what I anticipated while other pieces were spot on worth wise. Everything I looked at was clean and in good shape, ready for a new home. Really though the purple furry jacket would have been the cats meow for his GF but we passed it by. I'm sure someone will give it a good home

I scored a genuine leather flat cap from Meyer the Hatter for $25. When I got home, I looked up the original price and it was $125! Huge steal. I then also grabbed a vintage 90s style striped fleece henley long sleeve for $20. They had your usual vintage clothes and shoes but they also had everything from MTV Raps cards to every little accessory you could think of. Everything is neatly organized by size and color, which made browsing so easy and honestly so enjoyable. I really appreciated how intentional the layout felt. And then the second room... not only do they have 3 dressing rooms but HELLO NOSTALGIA. They have a TV and a Super Nintendo setup where you can literally play Super Mario in between shopping. 10 STARS. I swear shopping here healed a tiny part of my inner child. On top of all that, the women working were really sweet and helpful. Weekend Vintage is an absolute gem of a place. I'll definitely be back.

Perfect for early-20-somethings to mid-40-somethings with an eye for fashion but with the other eye on their checking account. I've found Agolde jean shorts, a $300 winter jacket for only $110 (which has become a staple in my Maine winter wardrobe!) and countless cute sweaters and tops at a fraction of their retail price. They have a great selection of dresses apt for wedding guests, and a solid amount of high quality footwear as well. The way the store is organized is yet another plus. They organize by clothing type and color, which makes for a seamless shopping experience and caters to my selectivity. As someone who is embarrassingly picky about what ends up in my wardrobe's rotation, and is also committed to ethical consumerism, but whose wallet can't always accommodate my tastes, the Haberdashery is a godsend. I'm always surprised at what I end up finding (and walking away with) whenever I head in. As a seller, I appreciate their model--get more bang for your buck with store credit, or opt for cash-only. What a gem!!
