Dr Alvarado, and Dr. Bourdeau as well as their staff are very knowledgeable, attentive, and thorough. Front Desk staff are welcoming and polite. Opticians are friendly and helpful. Glasses ordered without issue and there were many frame options to choose from. As its my choice to pick what I what on my lenses, I can choose all the bells and whistles or less bells and whistles. There was no upsell or pressure. Absolutely would suggest this office! read more

Good place to waste money at Personnel is condescending uncooperative they sell merchandise that don't even last two years but their insurance policy that you overpay for only is good for a year. They don't count the fact that in that first year they had to replace the glasses once ready because they broke so the warranty should go from that not from the original date. So if you wanna get ripped off read more

Don't recommend this place at all. Never in my 20 years of wearing glasses have I ever had a place not give me my prescription details so I can order a pair of glasses online, that they don't carry. They force you to buy from their limited selection. So keep this in mind if you want to go there, you HAVE to order from them. Doesn't seem fair and should be disclosed before paying for an exam. They care more about money grabbing from their patients than their patients well being and feeling comfortable in what they have to wear to see. read more

Dr Juan Alvarado is the best optometrist I have ever been. I am 62 and have worn glasses since I was 6. He was the first Dr to see within 2 seconds that I had an eye disease called Fuchs Dystrophy. He said that is in the cornea, the first part of the eye that any Dr would have to look through to do any exam, but nobody had seen it. I was going to Michigan Eye Institute on Linden Rd for ongoing eye problems andthey only said I had dry eye. The other big eye center on Gateway Center off Hill Rd Flint evaluated me for cataracts and didn't say anything. Dr Alvarado sent me right to Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor. If I had cataract surgery it would have deteriorated the cornea where I would have had to have cornea transplant immediately. Do yourself a favor and just see Dr Juan Alvarado at Fenton Vision. read more

It woulda been my first time there. I parked and the sign said entrance in rear take elevator. So I waited and then called. She said oh, you can walk the stairs or I can send the elevator. I said well, I'm at the elevator now. She says ok and a few minutes the elevator comes down. I get inside and the buttons don't work so I wait a few thinking maybe it has to reset. 10 minutes then 12 and nothing. I was so filled with anxiety being like a caged animal. I said never again and I left. Called and cancelled. I would not recommend anyone go thru this read more

I would highly recommend Fenton Vision Center. My husband and I had appointments together, we had our eye exams, chose our new glasses and were out the door in just over an hour!! The staff is wonderful, I am so happy that I found this eye doctor!! read more

I've been coming here my whole life and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Averado is the best!

I came here a couple years ago and left with a less than satisfactory experience. The doctor was definitely smart, and gave me a good eye exam. She was very dry in the sense that she didn't seem to care about you; just wanted to get the exam over with. The problem was that when I asked about an issue I had been having with my eye (it was constantly watering, but only one- weird I know) she more or less just suggested a compress. That's fine- it wasn't her area of expertise and I was okay with that. What I wasn't okay with was her staff trying to up-sell me an eye mask (you know, like the ones you use for sleep?) that could only be used x amount of times before needing a new one. Did I tell you this eye mask was $50? Haha, yeah I think I'll pass. At that time I decided I didn't want to give them any of my money, and decided to just take my prescription for my lenses and go elsewhere. The lady didn't seem real happy (the one that was going to help me pick out frames) but she kept it professional. I don't mind businesses that up-sell or have things they try to add on to enhance your purchase. I've been in sales for years- and that's just how it goes. That's how they make money... But at a Doctor's office? Nah, i'm good. I'd much rather go somewhere that puts the well being of their patients before their sales quotas. Like I said, it has been nearly two years since I've been here. Maybe they've changed- but I decided to add my input after reading another recent review that made me think they hadn't. read more

Dr. Alvarado is, by far, the best eye doc I have ever seen in my life. I started wearing glasses in the third grade, I am old enough to be receiving social security now. He has examined, diagnosed, cared for, treated and referred not only my vision needs but my overall health perfectly! He has shown me a level of professionalism and knowledge that is unsurpassed. I have him to thank for my ability to SEE today! This wonderful support staff goes above and beyond with patience and kindness and quality care for any of the needs I may have each and every time I call or visit! Thank you all for the many years you have helped me achieve such Great Vision! read more

This place is full of scam artists, they charged me $300.00 for some homemade generic testing to tell me that my son needs eye therapy, and they said nothing else would help him. Eye therapy being $5,600.00 that your insurance does not cover. I took my son to UofM and had him re-examined. They were much more professional and everything they did and will do, my insurance will cover. Not only has this happen to my family but I personally know of three other families that this has happened to. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I decided I would like to explore the option of contact lenses vs having worn eye glasses for many years. Dr Cupal was very thorough with my eye exam to be sure I was a good candidate for contact lenses. The staff were very accommodating when it came time to practice the input of contact lenses. Outstanding service, I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Very competant staff. Very aware of all current safety precautions. I felt valued and well taken care of. I highly recommend this business!

Always very professional and polite. They have very flexible hours that work great for us who work out of town. The selection of glass is awesome, anything you want or need. Make sure to request Dr. Juan! read more

Took our son in, this was our second opinion, we felt like they didn't test him properly during the exam portion, even though the doctor was really good with him. We ended up getting glasses for our son through them, everything was going smooth until we got the glasses, after we received the glasses we asked for a hard copy of the prescription, never received it. Since we weren't comfortable with the test that was preformed and he was showing signs of heavy eye strain we were reluctant to keep him wearing them. We called and again asked for the prescription and they refused to give it to us, then the doctor called and said we should go somewhere else. We were cordial on the phone and in person so we were confused. I would not recommend this place to anyone and feel as if we were treated poorly. read more
