Walked by Feng Hotpot last weekend and decided to give it a try. It's about 10 minutes walk from Chinatown. Inside is pretty spacious and clean (they have dining area on the second floor as well). We were able to get seated promptly and the server is friendly and checks in frequently. Hotpot wise, pretty standard, you can mix your own dipping sauce (about $2 per person, which is kind of strange since usually these are included); there are a lot of hotpot choices from soup base to various ingredients; all seems pretty fresh. Being a szechuan style hotpot, some of the dipping sauce and soup base are pretty spicy, so try with caution.

Great Chinese hotpot with delicious broth and high quality ingredients. We ordered tomato and spicy (mild) beef tallow broth. Tomato broth is a little on the thicker side but it tastes delicious. The spicy broth at mild level is quite spicy imo but not to my friends lol. They have duck intestine here, which is not common to find in a typical hotpot place. For beef, we tried beef chuck, beef tongue, and tender beef (this one you can cook it long in the broth and it would still be tender) and they are all good. The beef meatball w cilantro is also yummy with tendon in it. For appetizer, I like the deep fried pork but not the braised tofu. You also get free tea if you post about them on social media. Price is pretty reasonable. I highly recommend making a reservation because the place is kinda small.

alright, so, as a chinese person I am incredibly picky with my hotpot locations and I generally prefer to eat it at home. However, I would definitely go to Feng if I were feeling lazy and didn't want to procur all of the ingredients. They have a great sauce bar, super flavorful soup bases, and friendly staff. the only negative is that it is incredibly expensive considering the portion sizes of the meat. I wish they offered an all you can eat package during slow hours or something more affordable. But also don't sleep on the shaved ice

I went here with my coworkers for the first time to check out this new spot. I heard it just opened! The ingredients are fresh, and the soup base is flavorful. Excellent service--everyone was so friendly and helpful. The place has an authentic and nice atmosphere! FYI- Leave a Google review for a free dessert!

Wow this was phenomenal!! This is a new hot pot place that recently opened up, and it is so so good. They have such an incredible variety of ingredients and everything is so fresh! Such a fan of the Lobster balls. They also have a great selection of soup bases, and both were delicious! The spicy one we did at the lowest spice level, which was quite hot. This is not AYCE, but the prices are reasonable with good portions. The sauce bar is great too! They have peanut and sesame and more! We also bought a jar of the fruit tea and it paired so well with the hot pot--it was cool and so so refreshing and sweet. And the staff are very kind and efficient

This is an authentic Chengdu hot pot restaurant, and lamb rolls and beef short ribs are recommended.

Can't believe Feng Hotpot is here in the US now. Authentic Chengdu hotpot. Spicy tallow broth just like how it was when I visited Chengdu.

Wagyu, udon, prawns, squid, mushroom platter with the 4 broth combo

A very solid option for AYCE KBBQ in UCity!…read more I was craving for KBBQ after having it for my dad's bday, and wifey and I needed a date night idea. So why not eating way too much protein while our faces soak up that delicious grease and smoke? It turns out there are no reasons why not. The meat selection is pretty good for a spot that I didn't get the impression specializes in KBBQ - it was, after all, a hot pot spot first. But they've got your classics: LA galbi, bulgogi beef, thinly sliced fatty brisket, pork belly, spicy gochujang pork shoulder, you know what it is. But they also have some deep cuts: pork cheek and beef tongue! I think those are only available for dinner, but still. Delicious. They also have a good selection of seafood. Their marinated scallops and squid were a hit. I believe they also have mussels, shrimp, all the good stuff. One thing I wish they had more of was a wider variety of side dishes (banchan). They had radish kimchi and marinated cucumbers when I went, but cabbage kimchi was all out that day, and I just feel like one more little side dish would have made it perfect... like maybe some potato salad or the like. Because it's a hot pot joint, the sauce game is on point though. Plenty of sesame oil and soybean paste to slather your grilled goodies in. Plus, some vinegars, fresh herbs, other chili oils, and the like that would normally be used for hot pot. Mix and match to your delight. Drinks were varied and very reasonably priced. All the usual suspects from soju to sake. I'll come back with friends when bulking season comes around, for sure!

As it turns out, they're pretty legit for a spot that's conveniently located right next to Penn. Compared to the other hot pot places I've been to, LaTao sets itself apart by offering more hot pot menu selections. Even the broth comes in 11 different flavors, and you can opt for 3 of them at once by ordering the Benz pot. For our table, we got Korean spicy broth along with Tom Yum broth and Mixed Mushroom and Rib broth. Out of these, the Korean spicy broth was my fave. I love that there are so many different choices of meat, veggies, and seafood to choose from but the shrimps were a bit smaller than I'd prefer. As for their grill section, there aren't as many meat options as some of the places I've been to, but the flavoring was pretty good. As others may have mentioned, their sauce bar and hot food/dessert buffet sections are pretty modest or nonexistent in comparison with those like KPOT, Chubby Cattle, and Kung Fu hot pot. If you're a stickler for these, you'll be disappointed by coming here. Service-wise, I felt like the entire place was run by students since it was pretty inconsistent and I felt like the wait staff were overworked. Some of the orders we placed also never arrived, but that's forgivable since we enjoyed the ones that did. Overall, I was pretty happy with the dining experience and wouldn't mind dining here again.

Wow. What a little gem!…read more Seafood hotpot!!! Yummy! The dining room is not flashy, but it is efficient. Plenty of tables and not crowded next to each other. There was only one server who acted as host, cashier and buss! It was 9pm so I get it. But Friday night peeps. As the server was by themselves, and young. We couldn't get any adult beverages! This was a little bummer. But the food definitely made up for it. Bait come on. It was Friday night!!! Ok so let's talk about the food. 40 bucks all you can eat! Broths were amazing and our host kept our pots full and hot! The food was all very fresh and abundant! Snow crab legs, beef, pork, shrimp, scallops, etc all were again portioned well and fresh. I really did enjoy my meal here and would love to go again. But I would hope to get some hot team and Soju next time! lol Two thumbs up here!!!

It wasn't busy when we went (probably because it's summer), which meant we had plenty of space and some nice privacy -- we were seated far from other tables, which was great. The main dining area was super clean, and even though there was only one staff member running the front, he was attentive and checked in often to make sure we got refills and anything we needed. They really stay on top of the AYCE part, which I appreciated. You can choose between an individual pot or a communal one, and there's a solid self-serve section in the back with drinks, sauces, veggies, noodles, and other hotpot basics. The seafood selection was surprisingly good -- abalone, conch, crab legs, shrimp, mussels -- all fresh and flavorful. The seafood boil took a little while to come out, but it was seasoned well and worth the wait. For meat, they had American wagyu, ribeye, pork belly, and lamb -- all sliced fresh and great for hotpot. The only downside was the bathroom. The sink was clogged and almost overflowing, and there was no hand soap, which definitely raised some hygiene concerns. Still, the overall value, service, and food quality made this a great experience. I'll definitely be back -- especially in the winter when hotpot hits even harder.

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

The food is consistently strong, and the signature dan dan noodles are a must-order. We also tend to get the chicken potstickers, scallion pancake, kung pao chicken, and dry pot beef, along with white rice for the table. It's a menu that rewards repeat visits. We've had both takeout and dine-in here, and we definitely prefer dining in. The food is at its best when it comes straight out of the kitchen. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and kind without being overbearing. For seating, we prefer the cozy but small upstairs dining area, so making a reservation on OpenTable is usually a good idea. There are a few high-top tables downstairs near the kitchen and windows, which are also great, but if you prefer a quieter or cozier spot, we think the upstairs is best. They also offer a happy hour with good prices, and overall, the value for the food quality is excellent. We often bring out-of-town guests, and it's always a hit. Sichuan cuisine remains distinct from typical American Chinese, which helps Dan Dan stand out. We've also noticed their Ardmore location, which appears to be a strong alternative. Consistently good, well-run, unique, and worth visiting, especially for the dan dan noodles. Highly recommended and hope to be back soon!

In a culinary…read morelandscape where Szechuan cuisine and hot pot are having a serious moment, this fast-casual malatang spot manages to hit every note -- and then some. The concept is brilliantly simple: browse a refrigerated selection stocked with an impressive array of Asian vegetables, exotic proteins like frog legs and lamb, and all the hot pot staples you'd expect, then fill your bowl and pay by weight. It instantly transported me to hot pot buffets I've experienced in Taiwan -- that same sense of abundance and choice, but streamlined for the modern diner. From there, you can have your selections cooked in your broth of choice or go the dry hot pot route, stir-fried with a Szechuan spice blend that brings the heat in all the right ways. For the young professional crowd, this place checks every box: quick, customizable, affordable, and genuinely authentic. Whether you have 20 minutes for a quick graze or an hour to properly gorge, the kitchen keeps pace. Service is fast without feeling rushed. Don't overlook the beverage fridge -- it carries drinks you'd be hard-pressed to find even at your local Asian grocery store, which is a small but telling detail about the care put into this place. Their mala broth is the star. Thick, rich, and actually tastes like someone simmered it all day with real spices, not that instant packet stuff. Deep chili aroma, the kind that sticks to your lips a little, with a warm numbing finish that feels legit. Portions are my favorite part. Since I usually think I can eat more than I actually can, one bowl here turns into two full meals for me. For the price of one all you can eat hotpot, I can get 2-3 meals here and honestly it tastes better than half the AYCE places anyway. The seating area is small but clean. They keep it tidy and it never smells greasy. They have a sauce bar on the side but you barely need it because the broth already carries the flavor. The sauce bar leans more northern Chinese than southern. No sacha or oil stack sauces, but I am fine drowning everything in their chopped garlic. Prices are solid, service is quick, and they pack takeout really well. You get those nice reusable bags and sturdy soup containers that every Asian household ends up saving for leftovers. Definitely one of my go to spots when I want something fast, comforting, and spicy.
