I used to go to Felzl on Keiserstrasse for breakfast or coffee break whenever I had the time. Absolutely love the baked goods and the atmosphere. This morning I decided to try this location. It definitely didn't live up to any if my previous experiences. I ordered the ham and eggs for the first time, and regretted it. The eggs were very very runny. I sent it back to just fry it up a bit more. After some discussion they begrudgingly took the plate back. After a few minutes they brought it out again. Now, the same eggs were stuck on the plate, and still very undercooked. It was beyond unappetising and not an edible breakfast. Left hungry. The atmosphere is great here. I think it would be the perfect place for studying, but I think it also serves as a great spot for meeting friends or making a short stop during long walks, which was my case. What I love here is that they have various seating possibilites - not only can you sit in front of a window and look outside, but also they have a very long wooden table, as well as several ''normal'' tables. I think it is great that the place is big because as far as I know the other Felzl store in Kaiserstraße is not that big and sometimes may seem crowded. My melange was great, but the 'Topfenstrudel' was not that good, it was a bit dry and didn't have that much Topfen in it... and therefore 3 stars instead of 4, which I initially thought I would give. read more

Felzl on Lerchenfelderstrasse has been our go-to neighborhood bakery for the past three years and we've never been disappointed. My favorite items are the Swedish Bun and the Almond Croissant, but I also love their other pastries - so delicious! Their coffee is fabulous and you can order your cup with soy milk as well. They provide infused water for free which, on hot summer days, is a life saver. Another plus: They are incredibly thoughtful and even have a water station for your doggo. read more

Came to have a wonderful breakfast. Order placed for Paris (croissant baguette) with additional 2 eggs, and a ham and eggs meal for my wife. I don't get the eggs, ham and eggs come almost raw (very runny) so I ask if they can be cooked longer. I receive a response that the kitchen is closed. As we can't eat the eggs raw I complain and they reluctantly 'warmed' them up. They come back surprisingly the same! I still didn't get my eggs for the Paris meal and we found a hair in the brownie! Done. Tried to explain the terrible quality control and bad customer service. Avoid this place! read more

This would be my favorite neighborhood breakfast place IF they ever had items (vegan) advertised in their freshly printed menu. No soy butter ever (employees do not even know it is on the menu), and no bread (this is a bakery!) nor vegs (there are radish, cress, or freshly sliced avocados sandwiches on the display) to prepare a sandwich. And staff makes you feel, every time, like an idiot when you are pointing to a menu item they say they never carried. Idk why I still bother to come. No stars here, the one star is just as a gesture towards the constantly changing staff of times gone by, when some of them made an effort. read more

I'm a regular at this location, and they hooked me by the initial prices and quality of their baked goods. However, where they might have been good before, they are sorely lacking now. They have a hard boiled egg on the menu, but whenever I order it it comes back either soft, and by soft I mean cooked for less than two minutes or I never get it at all. The first time I ordered it I was told they only did soft boiled, until I pointed it out on the menu. Scrambled eggs come back rubbery. Coffee is not recommended. They just printed new menus, and soy butter and avocado spread are printed on there, but neither are ever available: the staff even say they never had them (they did!). But the worst is the staff's arrogance and often complete inflexibility with orders. When I asked if the hummus was vegan the reply came as:"I dont know". When I insisted they find out, I was met with an eye roll--and this from a customer they have come to know. The staff turnover is astronomical, and all the good ones seem to disappear rather quickly while the rest stick around a bit. What they do well: avocado spread! Please bring it back. And please teach the staff some manners and how to make a decent cup of coffee (this is Vienna after all.) Perhaps then I'll stick around. read more
