I had had a lot of really bad luck with doctors once I moved to DC - it seemed that none of the doctors my friends or coworkers referred accepted my insurance and were accepting new patients, so I pretty much went in blind and got burned pretty badly a few times in a row. I first went to Dr. Anderson because he was the first one in a list of 20 names of doctors that I called who was actually taking new patients. How lucky I turned out to be none of the other doctors I called before were taking anyone new! Dr. Anderson was really nice, joked around with me, and took his time to get to know me as a whole person, the broad strokes of my life story (not just health-wise) and where I was currently. He also very politely stepped out when he had an elderly patient come in with a dangerously fast heart rate. It was nice to know that he genuinely cared about spending time with his patients, but if an emergency came in, he would attend to that too. He also was very clear that he would make himself available in the event of an after hours emergency. I left feeling in great hands, and have never been happier with a primary care physician. The office staff was very nice to deal with too, scheduling was a breeze, and the wait time wasn't bad at all. read more
