Five Stars to Dr Frank and his entire team at MedStar…read more From the very first phone call on January 29th with Dottie, who connected me to Emily in Dr. Frank's office that helped me schedule my appointment for today and follow up calls with both Emily and Isabel to answer more questions, to Sophia's clear concise post procedural instructions this morning at 9:30am it was a smooth and efficient operation. Signing in with Marilyn today on the 10th floor at 6:30am was quick efficient, Sara's calming manor as she took my vital signs, prepared the intravenous system, Dr. Luck's thorough explanation of the anesthesia procedure, Kristin and Layney's also calming demeanor and continuing explanation of what was about to happen ~ all of this made today a relaxing and pleasant experience.

Dr Frank is rude, condescending, judgmental, and not any better than a typical gastroenterologist…read more He's like Dr House, if Dr House wasn't all that good at medicine. Like others, I also saw him because he got such great reviews. In all seriousness I don't believe the positive reviews. "He knows what he's doing and he truly cares for his patients." LOL I saw Dr Frank at least a half-dozen times and never, not once, would I describe him as a person who "truly cares for his patients." He seems to have nothing but contempt for his patients! Honestly, he treated me so poorly as a person that it bordered on abusive and I stopped seeing him. He is a terrible doctor.

Was able to schedule one and had a great experience with the nurses/physician assistants and doctor (Dr.Francis) and was excited to schedule my endoscopy. However I needed to review my work schedule which is often changing to find a day which was suitable and would fit in Dr.Francis' operation schedule. I was assured I could call back and schedule the procedure. Little did I know that I would be at the mercy of the ONE procedure scheduler that the office uses, who is so busy dealing with the phone traffic that they cannot reliably answer the phone. When I asked if there was another way I could schedule the procedure, in person or by some kind of email or patient portal , I was left a very rude message saying that I was sending the scheduler to my voicemail when I was in the middle of various processes at work and had called more than 10 times during the week at different times to try to catch them to schedule the procedure. Not only this but the front desk also had the same track record for answering the phone, as in they never answer. Guess i was lucky to get my initial appointment over the phone in the first place. Will not be returning, heading to another Gastro that actually has adequately and functioning staff. I would not give this office your patronage, they are comfortable knowing they are a much lauded office so they don't take care of patients.

I gave only 3 stars due to the lack of communication with his office and office staff. You call and never get anyone to answer. After an office visit, by appointment, they were to contact another doctor to get the OK for my spouse's colonoscopy. They stated they would contact the other doctor and it would only take about 5 days. A week later called back to other doctor and they said they never received anything from Gastro Health. Gastro Health did not follow up. I called back a several months later, finally getting someone to answer my call, and they miraculously received the form from my doctor THAT day while my spouse was on the phone with Gastro Health.. And they still have to submit form to get clearance. Expecting a call back from Gastro health, which never happened. Called back and left messages. The first time the office ever called me back from original appointment in October is in January. 3 MONTHS. It was a MESSAGE to schedule the colonoscopy. Tried to call but NO ANSWER, still don't have an appointment. I had a colonoscopy, 3 years ago and was to have another in 2 years. They told me they would call to set up an appointment. NO CALL. Can't get a hold of anyone. This is after I was told I had to get an appendectomy after my colonoscopy 3 years ago. Office staff needs to get straightened out and be held accountable.

Dr. Peters is also very easy to talk to about embarrassing symptoms. I had been referred to him fresh off the heels of going to the ER before my diagnosis, it was a scary time. Had my first colonoscopy last year and it went so smooth. I see him a few times a year so we can adjust my medication accordingly. I will certainly be heartbroken when he stops practicing. This week, I was in a time crunch and had to be seen on his day off, was instead brought to a nurse for concerns of my flare symptoms. She was tense, rushed, short with me-- maybe I'm just spoiled from Dr. Peters or maybe they were just busy, but I didn't leave feeling good about my experience. From now on, I'll just make sure I can see him, for I definitely feel like I'm being taken care of.

I would have to travel though, 2 hr drive one way, leaving time for road issues. First initial visit was fine and thorough. Scheduled to have an Endoscopy/Colonoscopy. Had said procedure, went well, but when it came time for follow-up visit for results we ran into traffic issues and was 20 minutes late. they completely refused to see me. Told them given the distance to get there, we leave extra time but even that wasn't enough this time, wasn't gonna reschedule just to chance going through that again. No Empathy, cold, nor consideration that my disabilities make it hard to keep traveling distances as it is. I always end up in bed the entire day after travesl to recoup. Dr told them to tell me that I could wait to see another provider but then I could not be seen by her ever again. . I have never missed or been late for an appointment anywhere in all my life, so this was my first experience with, cold, rude, uncompationate, could care less experience with this matter. So, we left. Wasn't no one else even on waiting room, I would have even sat and waited for fit in, but wasn't option for them I guess. No results explained from procedure and the biopsies that were done, no explanation for excessive sudden weight loss. Hopefully my primary will receive all records to cover results with me at my physical next month.

I highly recommend this doctor. The office staff is very friendly and keeps things rolling smoothly. Update: I feel I should update my review because after my last review, during the summer of 2018 I became very ill and had to be hospitalized for 9 days. The Sunday night I was so sick I had to call and Dr. Julia Korenman was the doctor on call that night. She called me quickly and spent a lot of time very patiently convincing me to go to the hospital. She was 100% right because I was very ill when I arrived at the hospital. The doctor from Capital Digestive Care on call during my hospital stay was Dr. David Jager. He was extremely kind, compassionate, and I felt he truly cared about me. After I my discharge from the hospital for my follow up exam I saw Dr. Korenman and have seen her a few times since. She is always very kind, understanding, and caring. I never feel rushed with her. I can now recommend any of the 3 doctors I have mentioned from this group.

My concerns began when a PA associated with the practice recommended a colonoscopy without ever performing a physical exam. The lack of care continued with Dr. Cohen, who provided no instructions regarding my blood thinners. She failed to coordinate with my hematologist, and after the procedure, when I had bleeding issues, I still received no guidance on stopping my medication or when to restart my medication. I felt there was a disregard for my physical health. I made it clear before the procedure that I had an Achilles tendon injury that was almost healed. Despite this, I left the procedure with a new complication to that injury, requiring me to wear a boot for at least three weeks. When I expressed my concerns about all of these complications, I felt she completely shrugged them off. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I would not recommend seeing this physician.
