Since I am now writing this review, we know that I didn't die. Good. Not dying = 1 star. Unfortunately, I cannot give Dr. Lin much praise beyond "Well, at least I didn't die." Dr. Lin's resume checks out--he's chief of surgery at GW Hospital with Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Oxford rounding out his experience. However, his lauded credentials did not, from my experience, translate into top tier medical care. Three weeks after the routine surgery, I remained in significant and constant pain. I was still having trouble walking, sitting, and sleeping. I had several follow up visits at GW to address these concerns, during which I felt like I was being given the run around by Dr. Lin and his staff. I found Dr. Lin's bedside manor to be arrogant and condescending, as he often implied that there was no way he could be responsible for the fact that I was so slow to recover, nor did he offer any additional solutions. After a month an a half and multiple follow-ups, a well-intentioned nurse practitioner on staff suggested I seek a second opinion from outside the GW medical community. He said that my continued pain following surgery with Dr. Lin was "raising eyebrows" and that I likely was not going to get anyone to go against what he was already telling me (which was basically sorry lady, your problem not mine) because of his status within the surgery department. Now over a year following the surgery, I still have not fully recovered. I have 3 large, noticeable scars on my abdomen and occasionally still experience shooting pains near one incision site. I did seek a second (and third) opinion following my experience with Dr. Lin, and both were able to offer solutions that aided in my recovery.

The Dr. Cauble that I saw kept her eyes closed for at least half of the time of our appointment. She looked either really tired or heavily sedated. And perhaps it was that or just a really long day that made her not realize that some of her remarks where a bit inappropriate and didn't show any of the care for patients that the name of her practice (Physicians for OBGYN Care) seems to suggest. This combined with a terrible office staff led me to change OB's. There are many better options out there, as I came to quickly find out.
