We had an absolutely wonderfully prepared buffet and the residents there said the quality we received was normal and not for show, so that was good to hear. We had a brief tour passing through some lovely gardens and the closed campus seemed very safe and pleasant with its plantings and benches, and pets are allowed! The tour and event was for learning about the apartments and the building and hallways reminded us of our college dorms and wasn't as modern and fresh as hoped for, although they have tried to make them more pleasant with artwork and decorative touches. The little lobby and common rooms were pleasant to get one out of the apartments and wait for friend or visitors, and the bulletin boards were full of activities. They were updating the apartments and they really make the best of the space. Many have sizable terraces, but the one we saw didn't have much of a view. The staff and residents we spoke with were all very upbeat and happy to be there talking about the events on campus, transportation to appointments and events off campus, and the comfort of being where a continuum of care can be provided. They regularly offer various tours, so by all means, give them a call and see for yourself.

When we walked in the door at Manor Village, we knew we had found Moms new home. We were greeted by Wesley Wilkins who provided us with a tour and as we moved throughout the building, Wesley knew all the residents that we came in contact with as well as employees. You could tell he really enjoys his job and every employee we talk with had a smile on their face. The entire building had a wonderful vibe and the residence we interacted with were so welcoming and friendly. We feel confident that if any emergency or care is needed, Mom is in the right place. It is now been a couple of months since she moved in and we could not be any happier. It has been such a positive experience and I would highly recommend Manor Village if you're looking for a facility that will treat your loved one like family. His tone was belittling, and he spoke about writing up and firing staff in a way that felt dismissive of the people actually doing the caregiving. Given that, it's hardly surprising how many memory care directors have come and gone. It's worrying to think this same leadership will be opening a new, state-of-the-art center -- I have real concerns about whether the culture behind the scenes matches the polish out front. I don't typically write reviews, but after learning Laurin had left and seeing firsthand how unsanitary and rundown the common areas have become, I felt I owed it to other families to speak up. This is memory care -- the residents here are especially vulnerable, and I think that raises the stakes on all of this considerably.

I spent several years looking for a long term facility for her because I didn't want to be caught off guard if something happened and she needed placed. I didn't want this important decision made in haste. After visiting more than a dozen facilities in the valley I selected Pacifica. I tell you the background because I have read several reviews not all good about the facility and I feel it's important give perspective. In addition to my research and visiting the facilities around the valley, my father was in three different facilities before he passed. What I have learned and I believe families should be aware is no place is going to feel perfect. No place is going to be as good as your loved one with normal health or brain function and living in their own home. So it's important to look for a partner in your care. I am beyond grateful that I found Pacifica. Although it's only 4 min from my house I would not have known about it without Care Patrol who let me know they had Alzheimer's cottages. From the first visit I felt heard, understood and respected. When we have had what I call "growing pains" them learning my mom, them learning my expectations and me learning their abilities and goals for mom, the executive director and departmental directors have had their doors wide open. When there have been challenges there has been a very lovely word - "yes" that they use in order to make sure we find a way to make the situation better. I love that my mom still has dignity and privacy in the cottage. I love that the little things to make her room a home have been met with a yes. I think the cottage based system should be the future for Alzheimer's. I have not seen a cognition based system implemented as well as it is here. My mom is very high functioning and so are the peers in her cottage. But I have the peace of mind knowing when she does need more help or loses her ability to communicate etc that there is a place for her on the same property in another cottage. Stop and see what I mean for yourself.

My Mom lived at Pacifica Senior Living (now Paradise Valley Senior Living - more on name change…read morebelow) for the past 3 years and was promised improvements from the day she arrived until the day she left this week. They never materialized. She joins a long list of residents who moved in only to discover the reality of living there was nothing like the slick marketing website and brochure full of fake photos, fake food, fake residents and fake activities. I personally witnessed residents move out within a month of moving in...the record was 3 weeks. This is a CORPORATE-RUN facility that is chronically and deliberately understaffed. Bless the care givers and med-techs. They are overworked and so underpaid, most of them have full-time second jobs. You NEVER see management or senior staff in the assisted living building providing support because they're busy in their offices inventing new ways to cut costs. Residents are largely left to sit in their rooms or sit outside staring at a parking lot all day. There is no sense of community or fun. Individual birthdays are neither recognized nor celebrated. There's no music, no movies, no outings, no excitement, no creative outlet, nothing to do and nothing to look forward to. It's been the same 20 minute chair yoga and rotating 30 minute card games for 3 years. They're now moving their sales person with zero activities experience to lead activities because their last activities director quit. The food is barely edible and rarely warm. There is a revolving door of med-techs and caregivers who are constantly quitting because of the poor work conditions. Waiting 30 minutes for someone to answer a call light is standard. In the past 5 months, this facility has lost its executive director, nurse, resident care coordinator, maintenance director, chef, activities director, business manager and four med-techs. The Arizona Department of Health Services licensing division is frequently at this facility conducting inspections due to complaints of neglect and poor resident care. If you want the truth about this facility, look up "Pacifica Senior Living bankruptcy." Pacifica Companies is the owner of this home. I finally insisted she be taken to a hospital where she was diagnosed with a "life-threatening brain bleed", from which she has permanent cognitive injuries to this day. A few weeks ago, my Mom fell and again they failed to properly assess or treat her. I was told she was "fine" only to discover she was in too much pain to stand up. I called 911 to have her taken to a hospital and it turns out she had a hip fracture. I called the interim Executive Director, Erin Masterson, who also runs Cottages at Peoria (they have the identical website with the same fake photos) and asked her to return my call to discuss my Mom's injuries. Not only did she not return my call, she texted me that my Mom "refused to go to the hospital this morning," as if that absolves her of the responsibility to properly assess and communicate my Mom's injuries. Instead she blamed my 83 year old mother (who has dementia) for not wanting to go to a hospital. I've since moved my Mom to a new home. She's received more competent care in this FULLY STAFFED home in 2 days than she ever did during her 3 years at Pacifica/ Paradise Valley. Read the reviews of this company and of this facility. Do not believe the fake marketing and false promises of "change." Also disregard the fake, light on details 5 star reviews. As long as Pacifica Companies owns this facility, it will NEVER change or improve.

That is not the case for Phoenix Mountain on Tatum. The nurses like nurse Barry and nurse. Tristan are amazing. I can't say enough great things. The rooms were clean. The food was fantastic. OK there was a couple days a couple meals are weird, however, 90% of the time the food was phenomenal! When I was there, they had a fantastic chef! The physical therapy team outstanding, the nurses aids or the CNA's down to the housekeeping crew we're incredible. They kept that place immaculate. Although the nurses are overworked, they need a raise and they need to have a one nurse per hallway!!!!! then it will run so much smoother for the nurses. The nurses worked their buns off! and I am so appreciative of that and I am so grateful! I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I was of how great this place was!, the people that lived there and that were in my same situation were awesome. My room was lovely. I overlooked a fountain and had lots of sunlight and I had my own bathroom. My roommate was incredible Patricia. She's a 93-year-old blind woman who is the most interesting person. She was awesome, again the place was fantastically clean! It looks a little old older, but it makes up for everything of how great the nurses are and the care is, it was great. The food was great. They even have an area outside where they had a big barbecue and we had hamburgers and hotdog for everyone and they have tons and tons of activities. If that's what your people are into, they had games they had workouts. It was incredible. I can't say enough good things and I'm only in my 50s and I was so surprised but so grateful! I also did have a loved one who stayed there and she had a good experience there too!, so take it from me, I was just there the last day of February 2026 for an entire month until April and I cannot say enough good things about this place! The facility is constantly short staffed, which makes it extremely difficult to provide residents with the quality of care they deserve. With so few CNAs on the floor, call lights would often go unanswered, residents were left waiting for long periods, and basic care like hygiene and toileting was sometimes delayed. Many of us CNAs voiced our concerns, filed complaints, and even reported the building to the state in hopes of bringing positive change. Instead of addressing the issues, several staff members who spoke up were terminated. It felt like management, corporate, and even some of the nursing staff were more focused on protecting themselves than supporting the caregivers or prioritizing resident safety. There are good caregivers who truly care about the residents, but the system in place does not support them. The turnover rate is high, new hires often don't receive proper training, and the overall culture makes it hard to provide the compassionate care that families expect and residents need. Until major improvements are made in staffing, management, and overall accountability, I cannot recommend this facility as a safe workplace or as a place for loved ones to receive care.

When I tell you the staff and residents are what truly separate this place from anywhere else, I genuinely mean it. You will not find more caring staff members who treat the residents like their own family. They are constantly looking out for everyone and go above and beyond to make residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. The residents here are also beyond wonderful. From day one, they welcomed both my grandmother and me with open arms and helped her feel safe and like she truly had a place to call home. They also do an amazing job organizing daily activities for the residents, and I especially love their monthly vendor market. Yvette took me through the whole facility. It was warm, welcoming and so peaceful. Mom would be staying in the memory care. It was so safe, quiet and very intimate. It's set up almost like a Montessori school. They only take around 20 residents in the memory care. I was so grateful they had an opening for her! They have a ratio of about 1 care giver to 5 residents. They had amazing safety systems set up for caring for their residents! We had superb gentle nurses and caregivers like Arrietta and Delores! They looked after mom like she was their own. So protective! There was Pablo who at nights would stay close and talk to mom's room/door so she would feel comfortable and sleep! From the moment she arrived at Orchard Point earlier than expected, Yvette and Patty the Director took such amazing care of her. Even answering their personal cellphones late late at night on our first night there. I was expecting voicemail but they took my call and jumped into action! They quickly helped with any accommodations she/we needed. They helped us as her family find support for her! They and all of the staff in the Memory Care are a family! It felt like home. The residents mom spent time with were so happy. Everyone was active, clean, needs being met! There was not one single resident who wasn't being loved and cared for! Orchard Pointe was such a blessing for us in a painful journey! They took care of us! They took care of us so we could set back and breathe! Orchard Pointe is a Home and a Family! My mom has passed but we will be eternally grateful to have found Yvette, Patty and everyone at Orchard Pointe! They truly love and care for their residents and their families!
