I'm happy to provide the first Yelp review for Felix Lo Basso in the Townhouse Duomo Hotel.
My wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. First, know that it's a late crowd. We arrived when the restaurant opened at 7:30 pm, but most people didn't come until 9:00.
The restaurant itself is spectacular, overlooking the Duomo Plaza. It's small and intimate, but has an incredible view.
The food is imaginative and delicious; the service is impeccable. I'm in my mid 60's and we've eaten at great restaurants all over the world. I can honestly say this is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.
We split a starter course of grilled octopus, and then I had risotto and a lamb course. My wife had spaghetti followed by the black cod. Everything was unexpected, fun, and absolutely wonderful. The sommelier matched wines by the glass for each course, and he was spot on every time.
Was it pricey! Heck yes. If the idea of spending $400-500 for dinner for two makes you feel nauseous, don't go. But if you want a once in a lifetime experience regardless of cost, this is a terrific restaurant. read more
