Mr. Felber comes across very confident that he can do the work on my chimney. I got a detailed estimate in writing (good thing). His team comes out and does a fast job without completing all the work quoted. He wants $4500 for a quick 5 hour job. Then when I politely ask about the completion (because I wasn't even informed when it was completed) I am scolded by Mr. Felber who then keeps calling and threatening to show up at my door at 8am on a holiday weekend. I almost called police. He accuses me of trying to pull a fast one and get service for free, when the estimate clearly says the service to be provided. He screams for his money and left progressively slurred speech voice mail. Nothing is worth the stress. I never even met him in person, he only sent his guys to my house. I had no idea who would come, the time, or what they would do that day. They were sloppy and flung masonry all over my neighbor's patio which I then had to discuss with them and offer to clean. Felber's daughter is the one who will give you a written estimate and communicate with you before the work gets started. Everything seems fine until you have to deal with Felber himself. He is belligerent and at best extremely forgetful, at worst dishonest. Do not hire this person if your job requires any sort of carpentry as his line is 'I only do the tuck pointing and nothing else' even though the estimate said to "replace facial boards", and to the contrary his letterhead says he provides a variety of services including windows. His guy Sean resolved it after horrible mean and drunken communications from Felber by replacing two small boards, and the trim still doesn't look freshly done, only 2 boards they replaced. This was a stressful and confusing experience that left me very nervous about using any contractor not referred personally by someone I know. read more
