Good, no frills Chinese food. My only issue is the $10 card minimum. Sometimes I just want an egg roll on the go, but that's pretty fair.

I went to Fei Ma manly times when they were one of the first to reopen during the pandemic. I liked them, thought I'd order again, had been a while. The quality has gone down tremendously, while their prices are out of control (they charged $17.50 for a sweet and sour chicken listed online at $10.25) and it was just not good. Fei Ma has been there for me for more than a decade offering fast hot legit Chinese food on Ave A. I moved away and when I come back to visit, always arriving late and hungry from the West coast it's where I order from and it never disappoints. The boneless spare ribs are sliced like a head of cabbage for coleslaw about 1/4" wide and they cooked the hell out of it . Tough and hardly chewable. My favorite American Chinese spot in the lower east side. I've eaten at this spot and talked with the family who runs it for several years. The food has never made me sick and they are honest about delivery time. I will continue to support. The fried chicken hits the spot like other Chinese American restaurants in the bronx or Brooklyn. Fei Ma rocks. Best fried dumplings in the area. Pretty fast delivery, too. The classics are good here and you can even order some riskier stuff. They do fried things very, very well. It's not a place to sit and eat in cause it's so small but lord knows I have. You are basically chilling with the delivery guys when you sit there, which is cool, because they're nice guys. Fei Ma is not on Seamless and there can be a bit of a language barrier on the phone but nothing you can't work around. They also take venmo if you are going in person which is cool. I just ordered food from what I thought was my favorite take out place. But much to my Chagrin, I really disappointed, ordered two pork egg rolls, what I recieved were two enrolls that were throughly soaked in oil, and they were disgusting, almost burnt. I ordered the 2 large orders of Wonton soup,again tasteless winton,and the broth itself tasted awful. I've been a customer for a long time, and I'm really disappointed at Fei Ma restaurant. I'm giving five stars within the framework of takeout Chinese, but this evening the wonton soup deserves all five on any scale. It's saving my life with a bad cold... a light but very savory broth, giant, pillowy dumplings, and so many of them. Also loved the shrimp egg roll, which is the old school flavorful kind packed with cabbage and shrimp and an umami factor that I don't get from pork or veggie egg rolls in general. Today I ordered wings w/ fries, general tso and eggplant and chicken w/ garlic sauce. I have been comparing prices from 3 local Chinese restaurant, and this place has the cheapest prices. The wings were huge compared to china wok. General Tso chicken pieces are small which makes it crunchy. Their sauce are a bit too sweet and is too red but wasn't bad. Their eggplant and chicken looks like sh*t and didn't taste good either. Golden Forest makes the best eggplant and chicken. China wok has the best general tso. updates Pros: chicken wings Cons: General tso sauce was too sweet and red. eggplant and chicken tasted weird and look like a glop of goo. Didn't taste good either. Okay, it's not the best Chinese food ever, but considering the drought of said deliciousness in the EV, it really is such a relief and joy to finally find a go-to place. Please Dont!!! This is the worse chinesse restutant Ive ever eaten from. I brought a simple order of pork dried rice with chicken wings. The wings are so hard and tasteless. All Im doing is hurting my teeth every time I try to bite into it. Its bland non seasoned taste makes me regret wasting my money. The rice was soggy and some pieces of the pork was undercooked why others were overcooked. I will never eat from here again. Now I have to turn around and spend more money on dinner this choice I made was apparently the worse one ever read more
