I wish I had way more time here because there was so much I wanted to try…read more Time Mission has a bunch of individual rooms, and each room has a completely different game or challenge. Some are more cognitive and puzzle-based, while others test strength, balance, dexterity, coordination, communication, or just how well you can function under pressure lol. You get the directions on a screen outside each room, then scan your wristband to get in and start the challenge. Your wristband gives you an hour, but the time actually counts while you're inside the rooms, so you can move around and pick what you want to try. I definitely recommend looking around first because there are SO many different things. My favorites were the Floor Is Lava game with the ropes in the middle and the pipe-balancing challenge. There was also this giant bouncy ball room where you have to hit all the buttons, which was WAY more fun than it sounds. Obviously I loved the game where you have to hit the blue dots on the ground while making sure the red doesn't touch you. It's basically the Floor Is Lava concept that they advertise everywhere, and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. Give me a giant interactive floor and tell me not to touch something and apparently I'm five years old again. There were also some genuinely funny puzzle games, a mini escape-room-style challenge, and a bunch of other rooms that I didn't even get enough time to try. That's honestly my only complaint: I ran out of time before I could do everything I wanted. And the STAFF. 10/10. Seriously. We were there toward the end of the day and ended up running out of time. The staff member working with us found out it was our first time there and actually unlocked the advertised run-and-jump game so we could try it before leaving. He absolutely did not have to do that, and I really appreciated it. I don't know if he was the manager or owner, but whoever he was, he was AWESOME. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to want us to have a good experience rather than just watching the clock and sending us out the door. That kind of customer service makes such a difference, especially at an activity where you're already trying to figure out how everything works for the first time. I can't gush enough about this place. It's active, silly, challenging, competitive, and just ridiculously fun. You can use your brain, your body, your coordination, or apparently your ability to panic when a red light appears on the floor. I already know I need to come back because one hour was NOT enough. The games are varied enough that I could easily spend another visit trying rooms I didn't even get to this time. And seriously, give that staff member a raise. Absolute MVP.

With a gorgeous tablescape and place settings all ready, I knew all I had to do was pop open a bottle of wine and relax. After a brief introduction, Chef had us join in on the prep for the meal. My friend Sembat got to work on chopping up some shallots while I went after the onion. This was all for the base of a nice red sauce, with both fresh vine-ripened and canned tomatoes. Touch of sugar, salt, and herbs and it was good to go. There was also plenty left for us to take home in several jars! Chef Renee then cooked up some arborio rice to make risotto. With this cooled, we helped roll out some rice balls with bread crumbs, which were then deftly fried to give us our first course - arancini with homemade red sauce. Delicious! I was excited for our next dish. Having had Vetri's spinach gnocchi several times, I actually attempted a recreation a few months back. That was definitely a fail, with the gnocchi turning out rock hard. But having Chef Renee provide me with proper instruction, we were able to create a rustic and fluffy iteration, with ricotta and fresh spinach coming through. The browned butter and Parmesan helped to create a salty bite that was simply delicious. Definitely helped myself to seconds of this. For dessert, a quick 15 to 20-minute baked olive oil cake was all we needed. Crispy on the outside and fluffy within, we had a lot of fun plating our own dishes. We even made homemade whipped cream and topped it all with powdered sugar and slivered orange slices. Bellisimo! Be sure to check out the CozyMeal options available in Philadelphia. Apart from the Italian Recipes cooking class with Chef Renee, she also has cooking classes for Dim Sum, Mexican, and French fare as well. Now a will say there a couple things that has us making the face of the swaggy p meme: the first escalator going up working but the next one so we took the elevator the steps the rest of the way up to the restaurant; we would've the elevator, but the person passed out/laying on the ground threw our little one off a bit (hope that person is okay!)!; and when taking the elevator down when we eventually left later that night, we weren't sure if it was working since it didn't light up and didn't seem like it was moving at a point - it was fine though. Outside of those things, we had a pretty good time! Lol Food was typically bar food and good for us, though we weren't fans of the Cheesesteak egg rolls. Drinks were made well, and our little one said she enjoyed her food too. Of course, we had to head over to the games after eating and we had a blast! We initially had issues with the card at certain games, but it eventually was fine and we were able to play at every game we wanted.
