Working with Courtney was one of the BEST decisions we made during the stressful wedding planning…read moreprocess. Courtney was our month and day-of-coordinator, along with her partner, Brooke. They were both so warm, communicative, and were an absolute pleasure to work with! I knew my husband and I were in such good hands. Leading up to and on the day of the wedding, she was very timely, organized, detailed, and stayed on top of things including having full control of all the coordination between the bridal party, vendors, and venue. She was absolutely amazing at executing our planned timeline, answering all my questions, and making sure all the vendors were on the same page. It made for such a stress-free day for my husband and family where we were able to fully enjoy and soak in every minute of our day. My husband, parents, and bridal party even commented about how on point they were throughout our wedding. DO NOT HESITATE TO HIRE COURTNEY TO PLAN ANY EVENT. Hiring her was worth every single penny and then some -- If it were in my budget, I definitely would've sprung for the full planning package. Hiring Courtney was the best wedding decision I made. I am a type-A DIY get it all done type of…read morebride. At first I didn't understand why anyone would just "throw away" a lump sum of money to a person who would just show up the day of and execute what was already a beautifully organized plan. And then it dawned on me: there is no way to get everything you need to happen when and where it's supposed to happen without someone running the show, and that person CANNOT be the woman in the big beautiful dress. I interviewed about 10 different coordinators (did I mention I'm a perfectionist?) leading to yet another excel sheet of pros/cons for each potential hire. When I narrowed my list to the top 3 Courtney really stood out. While everyone was easy to talk to on the phone, she seemed the least like someone who was trying to up-sell me on "my big day". She also didn't put hour limits on the package, which showed that she really was just going to be there to help in any way possible, not to nitpick over one line charges in a contract. During the first meeting we set up with her I still had my reservations, but by the end of the conversation I was happily writing a check. At the walk-through she agreed to also come to the church and was on top of every picky detail I requested. At the rehearsal she helped navigate a tense situation when I was 20 minutes late. She also exerted herself when necessary among a pushy priest and uptight church coordinator. My maid of honor said that Courtney won her over when she overheard her say to me at the rehearsal: "Is this the way you really want it, because if you have doubts tell me and we'll get it done." On the morning of the wedding Courtney was waiting for us with multiple things already underway. She gave me quick calm updates and brought me in whenever there was a decision to be made. If I told her it didn't matter she would quickly take care of the problem on her own and I wouldn't hear another word about it. If I had a strong feeling on the matter, she made sure it happened my way. When I told her I was concerned that some family member's criticism would shake me up before the ceremony, she politely steered them away from me whenever there was an issue. When the church coordinator got snippy with her she was overheard saying: "I was hired by the bride and groom to make their dream wedding come true, and doing things your way was not part of that plan". Meanwhile, she was completely professional, kind, and welcoming to everyone. The wedding party loved her! She was also dressed stylishly (and in heals!) for the wedding, which makes a difference to me. Your guests are going to see someone following around the bride all day, you don't want them to be wearing slacks and an over-sized button down. Courtney handled a million big and small details for me the day of, but one that stands out is something I hadn't fully thought through. At one of our meetings I mentioned I was going to have some decorations ready to set up in the honeymoon suite for us to come back to. While this was a great idea, it just kept getting moved lower and lower on my list, and I never got around to setting anything aside. Since we were up until the wee hours of the morning I didn't think it would matter, but when I went to my room to change I was blown away. She had taken small extra flower arrangements and candles from the reception and arranged them beautifully all over the suite. There were flower petals leading to the bed, and my veil beautifully draped over the arm seat. Food and candles were waiting for us on the table and all the extra boxes had been tucked away. It was beautiful and an amazing end to a perfectly-executed day, all thanks to Courtney. I could write endlessly about every little detail she did, but instead I will say this: Hire Courtney, it will be the best decision you make.

If someone were to "pop the question" around whether I'd hire Susan and her team again, my answer…read morewould be a very enthusiastic, "Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!" Susan and her team are SO organized, SO professional, and SO lovely to work with. For starters, we delayed our wedding by two years because of COVID...so naturally, there were certain details I just totally forgot about. Fortunately, Susan didn't. She'd remind me of whatever comments I'd made two years prior, follow up on things I didn't even realize we'd talked about, and keep my family and me on track when we needed it most. She came to as many of our appointments with other vendors as possible, asking smart questions and helping us make strategic decisions along the way. On the day of the wedding (which we had at the Fillmore in Fishtown), every single member of her team was ON, helping us squash little issues and stay as much on schedule as possible. Her team was quick, attentive, and lovely all-around. They're exactly what you want in a wedding planning team--they're kind, yet firm. They're cattle herders, but with a friendly touch. And most of all, they know what they're doing and make you feel like you can relax and let them take care of you and your loved ones on your special day.

She and Kate were so lovely, patient, reliable, and cool under pressure...there is no way the wedding would have went as planned without them! From the moment we brought her team on board, Susan brought a sense of calm and professionalism that immediately reassured us that we were in great hands. Leading up to our wedding, the level of communication and organization she brought was incredible. And she brought us so many creative ideas and recommendations that we would never have thought of! She's a true veteran, and also highly connected within the Philadelphia wedding scene -- she has worked with everyone! I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to have her on our team. She was the coach, quarterback, defensive line...all in one. All we had to do was show up and enjoy. THANK YOU!!!!

Q & Q Exquisite Planning was the wedding planner for my wedding in 2010. They did an excellent job…read moreand we had one of the best weddings pound for pound out of anyone in my family or my wife's family. Are wedding was particularly difficult because we lived in TX and the wedding took place in California so planning a destination wedding is always hard and especially for a fairly large wedding of about 200 guest. Also our wedding was somewhat challenging because my wife had dreams of grandeur and I had a very small finite budget. Q&Q Planning was able to meet both my limited budget and my wife's dreams of grandeur. Needless to say we were very happy with our wedding and people still can't stop talking about how much fun they had and how good the food was. Every time I get a complement I always think of how we pulled it off with such a small budget and every time I attend these 50k plus weddings and I think about how Q&Q Planning was able to create the same or even better event for a fraction of the cost...I smile from ear to ear....and my wife smiles from ear to ear every time she looks at our photo album and remembers what a special day we had and how smoothly everything went.

They listen to your needs and make you aware of whether they are right for your event or not. I had several of my wedding guests come up to me and compliment Jarrard and his wife, Gina, for how they kept the momentum on the dance floor. He also has some fun little games (i.e. His Bag of Tricks) that get all of the guests to interact. They were professional, kind, understanding, energetic, and totally understood what was needed for the wedding. I would recommend them to my own family. Do yourself a favor and at least meet with them so you can see what I mean. They'll win you over, and they are consummate professionals. I hope you are lucky enough to enjoy their services. From…read morestart to finish, he brought such great energy and did an amazing job reading the crowd and keeping everyone on the dance floor. Leading up to the wedding, Johnny met with us a few times and really took the time to understand our music taste and the vibe we wanted to create. He asked thoughtful questions about our genre and artist preferences, what we wanted played during dinner, how to handle the key moments and peak dance hours, and even made sure to go over our "do not play" list. We walked away from those meetings feeling completely confident that we were aligned--and it truly showed on the big day. We had so many guests come up to us during and after the wedding asking where we found him and complimenting how great he was. He created such a fun, seamless experience for everyone, and we're so grateful. Highly recommend Johnny if you want a DJ who is professional, attentive, and knows how to throw an unforgettable party!

We used Eclipse for our wedding back in July after them coming highly recommended by Cescaphe…read more Unfortunately we did not have a great experience with them. My initial call was about a year in advance of our wedding with John Alexander and that went smoothly. I stressed how important the emceeing portion was to me and he ensured me that DJ Nick would be a great fit. I watched DJ Nick's intro videos and loved him so I proceeded with booking. I received an automated email in June that I'd be hearing from my DJ soon, but didn't so then followed up on June 22nd with no response. I then texted John June 25th. Again, no response. We were only 2.5 weeks away from the wedding and had a holiday weekend between so I sent another text the following day to follow up. Finally he responded and said my DJ would call me next week. My DJ did not call. I had to send him another text the following week letting him know my DJ did not call. I told him that instead of waiting on the call I booked a meeting on their online calendar. At that time he just sent me "DJ Khoa" with his telephone number and zero context. This is a week out from my wedding that he tells me we have a different DJ than we booked. it wasn't until I call him and say "What happend with DJ Nick?" that he tells me that Nick had some things come up. It just seems like the owner of a company should be a little more proactive in letting clients know about when an issue arises rather than having a client reach out 4 times and then finding out a week before her wedding that it's a different DJ with a completely different emceeing style. DJ Khoa did a fine job and it's no shade to him but it was not what i was looking for for my wedding. Overall i would avoid Eclipse at all costs and not do business with John Alexander.

We were pretty disappointed with our DJ from Tom Barrett for our wedding last summer…read more Interactions were great PRIOR to the event. Professional on the phone, seemingly interested in what we wanted. Actual event was kind of 50/50. Yes, someone (who we'd never talked to) showed up on time and looked nice. Yes, he played all of our "must play" songs. But, some really bad decisions. Mispronounced my last name (which is not hard). Was distracted during speeches and let an awkward silence ring out when they were over until someone had to go up and ask him to turn on the music again. He responded, "I thought you were toasting." Yes, but we're done! I explicitly requested classical or jazz music for cocktail hour, and he played schmaltzy Kenny G. When we asked if he could put some classical on, he said he didn't have any. Finally, he played the song "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. I'm sorry, but at a wedding??? The lyrics include, "Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort...suffocation, no breathing" etc. They did have a no-play list, but this is where we thought we had to say no to things like "YMCA," didn't occur to us that it would be not to play angry emo music. Hmmm. Finally, accepted money from an inebriated guest who wanted to "serenade" us on the microphone. TWICE. Funny now...not so much at the time. I wrote to Tom Barrett after the wedding with a comment card and full details of how we were dissatisfied. Never heard back. Would not suggest this company.

He not only played everything on our list, but did a great job of picking music in the same vein as our selections. I've received many compliments on the music selection. I also asked Ken to keep it pretty low key in terms of commentary and his approach was perfect for our event, an anniversary party with friends and family of all ages. He even downloaded some unusual late requests and played some music I brought that isn't available commercially. We set this up very last minute and while I had a small bit of trouble closing the loop with Tom, in fairness it was due to 12 days notice, just before Thanksgiving. The price was very reasonable and I would without hesitation recommend them (and especially Ken) again.
