Vision was blurry with new glasses....went back to place I got them and they said they were made to prescription. Went back to Odessa Vision Source this morning to have them check the glasses there and was told I would need an appointment with the eye doctor to have them checked - note I didn't want my eyes checked - I wanted to confirm my glasses were made to the prescription. Got to office and made appointment on line...they called this afternoon and said the prescription was correct and that my vision would be blurry due to cataracts. Well I guess I don't understand why I can see better with my old glasses than my new ones.....you would figure my cataracts would be worse since my old glasses are over a year old. I spent 480.00 on glasses I can't see with.

No, it isn't the cheapest place in town but I need a more thorough eye exam than you get at the cheapest place. And yes, you have to wait for the glasses. I have to wait anyway anywhere but you can take your prescription to another place if you want. Bottom line, if you need a good thorough eye exam, you will get one here.

Review of My First Visit to America's Best…read more This was my first time visiting this location, and unfortunately my experience was mixed. I was scheduled for a 12:00 pm appointment and arrived early at 11:50 am. Someone who arrived several minutes after me was taken in first. When I asked why, I was told they had an earlier appointment, which didn't make sense based on the timing. When I was finally called in for the pre‑exam, the woman who assisted me was incredibly pleasant, patient, and made me feel comfortable. I really appreciated her professionalism. However, the experience changed when I was called into the main exam room by a woman named Oni. From the moment she called me back, her attitude felt dismissive and lacking compassion. I tried to explain that the glasses I'm currently wearing are not allowing me to see properly, but she cut me off and told me to wait and explain it to the doctor. The doctor, on the other hand, was wonderful--very understanding and attentive. She immediately recognized that the office didn't have my prescription and agreed to order the correct lenses. What bothered me was that Oni seemed ready to let me leave with the terrible vision I came in with. Only after I insisted and made it clear how unsafe it was for me to walk and drive like this did she finally message the doctor. Eventually, she gave me temporary contacts that were close to my prescription, but it felt like pulling teeth to get basic care. I left feeling upset because compassion should be part of the job, especially when dealing with patients who rely on you to see clearly. Not everyone realizes how much a small act of understanding can mean. I made sure to get her name because the difference in attitude between staff members was noticeable.

Chose America's Best because options are limited. Disappointed in the prescription. When I go for…read morean adjustment, the wait is ridiculous. Do not recommend.

When I first tried to wear contacts I couldn't put them in and he told me I had the worst case of "pokophobia" he'd ever seen. OTOH, when I came to him because I woke up with terribly blurred vision he sent me to an Eye Clinic for a more in-depth examination, and when they could not find the cause he sent me to a retinolologist who found that I had suffered a stroke in my eye. He was able to treat me and although it took some time, today I have almost the same level of vision I had before the stroke. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Schitoskey. If he is subbing for other drs. in his retirement, rest assured, you will be in great hands.

There was only one staff member that seemed like they were happy. The rest of the staff were less than inviting. This was not an environment where I felt like anyone even cared. When you're in the business of dealing with people, it's nice to seem like you like them and enjoy what you do. Smiling and eye contact helps. I wasn't treated horrible or anything like that. This is just a platform for honest opinions of places. The staff were not inviting and next time we will not make this place our eye care choice. Besides that.. I was in and out fairly fast.
