This isn't about fedex as a whole company necessarily. My problem is for the more localized drivers, and not all of them, but enough. We ordered phones from AT&T, and they were sent fedex. When they arrived, we asked to either feel that the package had the proper weight or to atleast see all sides to check for tampering. The delivery guy refused and got all defensive. We explained it was because my wife and her sister had a phone stolen by a fedex driver and didn't realize it until after signing for it. The box had been cut open and taped closed again. The driver really freaked out then. He ran for his truck almost crying like a small child and refused package inspection. Now fedex is trying to say that it was the wrong address, to cover their butts. We called customer service and they were very polite and helpful, saying all the correct things. But this is a problem that even AT&T says is a problem they get told of a lot! It seems customer service by fedex delivery means the driver can be their own customer and never face and corrective actions, because the company in my opinion likes to sweep it under the rug. The driver was so bad, he said that he would make sure we never go a fedex delivery to our address again! Can you say little child in a big boy body. I have a long driveway. They rarely drive down. Mostly, it is "customer not home" despite me taking the day off. Priority shipping means nothing. It is great when the shipper is a large corporation and isn't set up to just give them a jingle and ask for a delivery exception. Overnight package was supposed to be delivered on a Tuesday. Over the next five days they claimed they tried to deliver and we were closed. We're a museum and were open to the public the entire time. Never saw a truck, never got a door tag saying they'd been. One afternoon I sat by the window deliberately waiting for them and while I was there they updated the tracking to say they'd just attempted delivery. Every "delivery attempt photo" they posted was just a weird beige blur--the same weird beige blur every day, posted by different drivers. Clearly it's the one they use to gaslight customers or their bosses when they haven't bothered to drive the truck over to deliver the package at all. At the end of all this, they sent the package back to sender, never giving me a chance to even go pick it up in Norwich. I'm just hoping it's not lost or stolen and it really does arrive back at the sender's. It was time sensitive and we paid $40 for overnight shipping, not to mention the two 30 minute photo calls I had with customer service. I had a shipment via another Fed Ex branch delivered today with no fuss or delay; guessing it's the Norwich branch that's the problem. Nevertheless, won't be using Fed Ex again. read more

I've used this office twice now -- both times emergencies -- and both times, the staff here have been wonderful: highly competent, friendly, and accommodating. 1. Needed to fly a high-value item across the country, with no time to spare. The guy behind the counter really took the time to answer all my questions about the different rates, as well as helping me finish up my frantic packing job -- all while cracking wise with the (pretty freakin' funny!) jokes. :D 2. In the middle of a snowstorm, I had flowers (HIGHLY PERISHABLE) waiting for me at this station. With traffic being understandably slow, the woman behind the counter not only understood the delay, but met me at the door with a smile and a warm "Happy Valentine's Day!" Considering how bad it can be to deal with these large corporations sometimes, it's a wonderful breath of fresh air when the employees "in the trenches" end up being such a genuine pleasure to work with! Seriously these people are liars and crooks. I had to tell Google that I was going to terminate my phone service with them if they ever sent me anything via Fedex. 3 weeks ago the same things happened where a Samsung laptop kept getting "undelivered" until it was sent back to Samsung. And now I am supposed to be receiving a phone from Google. It got "delayed" yesterday, even though it was out for delivery. Then today it said, out for Delivery. So, I literally left work early to get home by 2 PM, and was sitting on my balcony whole afternoon waiting for it. Around 5 PM I see the Fedex truck come to the apt parking lot. The guy doesn't even leave the vehicle, types something on his phone, turns around and leaves. In 10 mins I get a text saying that the package was "not delivered" because no one was home. So I call Fedex, and they call this service center and they inform that the driver has "already returned." Really? Within 20 mins of leaving my place? They promised it will be delivered tomorrow, but now the website says Monday. Which on Monday I am not going to be home and cannot sign for it. So, I guess this one is also returning to the sender. I hate, hate, hate Fedex. And I hope that all large companies cancel their contract with these people and they go bankrupt. read more

When package is supposed to be delivered. They do not knock. They see no one. Then leave a sticky note saying they will deliver Sunday. Yet they are not open on that day.. Do they still deliver on that day. The message on amazon says business was closed/ Yet, It is a house. When Seller says next business day. And Monday is a holiday. Does Fed ex deliver on that day?. You do not drive. and work Monday thru Friday . And do not get home till 2. How do you get the package? There hours say they do not deliver after Two. . They do not redeliver in the same day. Even Half an hour after you found out they delivered 4 days early. It would have been nice. To know that. And I would have been out there. Why can signature required not be cancelled. All in all I am screwed. Kind of need the package to go to my Job. Since, I have to ride a bike t0 to work. Know , Possibly loose job. Or affect credibility. Since . You can not rely on FedEx delivering anything on time or actually care about the business they are in. New drivers every week ensures late or wrong deliveries. Conversely I have had the same excellent ups drivers for years who actually delivers on time with a smile and he knows his customer. Online account, delivery instructions to leave at front door -- and FEDEX still did not deliver. Instead, 'delivery exception' and will deliver on next business day. The delivery window was until 8PM...delivery attempted at 2 PM...apparently 8 PM really isn't the window. Basically the process is sit at home all day waiting for package at FEDEX schedule convenience. Unsatisfactory. read more

Absolute worst customer service ever. I ordered books for school which starts tomorrow. The three packages are at the facility and they told me I would not be able to pick them up until tomorrow because "they are in a crate with over 700 packages and we are not going through them". We've driven along way during our travel to get some urgent printing letter in SNOW STORM and we found this place. They said they don't do printing service. Customer service is the worst. The website says you can schedule a delivery time, however Donna refused to schedule a convenient delivery time. She wants me to wait at home 12 hours, 8 am to 8 pm but when I asked for a delivery between 5:30 pm and 8 pm, which is within their normal delivery times she refused. I paid for overnight delivery but It is actually going to take 7 days. This is so frustrating. Next time I order something on-line I'll make sure it isn't shipped by Fed Ex. read more

Do yourself a favor and don't ever work here. I broke my leg at work, they denied my claim, said it didn't happen at work, didn't pay me for three weeks, send me to a cut rate Dr that missed my fracture and made me walk on a broken leg for three weeks plus did pt on it, upon my return they took double my medical premium out of my check leaving me with $100 for the week, they refuse to give me short sleeved shirt and shorts, I am out in 90 degree weather in long sleeves and pants, I have had one shirt and one pair of pants for an entire year, the worst experience of my life.
