I had filled out the online form before making my appointment as you never know how busy the store would be, esp. since it's the summertime. They take walk-ins but they have staggered time slots throughout the day. I figured appointments are more efficient use of my time. I got to the store about 15 min before my appointment as it recommends 10 minutes to sign in. I was directed to the left side of the store where there's a TSA-PreCheck sign/banner. I stood there waiting for just a minute as there was a sign that help would be there momentarily. A female employee asked what ID documents I had to present, then on a machine she went thru the prompts to verify my info from the online application, then proceeded to take my fingerprints on that machine and lastly a photo of my face using a tablet. I paid the fee and I think the process took maybe 5-7 minutes! She said I'd be informed within a few days but online it says it could take up to 60 days. Since it's summer, I guess we'll see? Near the processing center are travel items which I thought was clever for Staples to carry & cross-sell! There were luggages on sale, toiletry items, bags, chargers, travel pillows, portable device accessories, even packable backpacks! I ended up buying some travel spray bottles and as they were on sale for $0.99 and the saleslady said "It's buy 3, get one free!" So I snagged a travel bottle. She said she saw I had 3 so she thought she'd mention it. I walked around looking at other items like sheet protectors, adhesive type hooks, file folders, K-cup coffee, furniture, a variety of pens and the sale section. I didn't need any but wanted to see the prices. I'm glad the store has extra services as many people could just buy office products elsewhere like Amazon nowadays. I highly recommend a service center like this esp. since parking was wide-open and the location is just off the highway.

Without going into too much detail, dealing with Best Buy was a nightmare. Staples at La Cantera is amazing. They are kind, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I now buy all my office supplies and electronics from Staples. Thank-you for such wonderful customer service.

I called a UPS store (on Blanco) and asked if there was a notary on staff. They said yes, I said, "And you close at 7?" And the guy said, yes. I accidentally drove to the San Pedro location. When I got there, the metal closing gate was already engaged. The "manager" was helping another person. He said, "We're closed." I said, "I called you and you said you open until 7." He said rudely, "No one called me." He was literally helping another customer. He could easily help me. Helping me would be helping the company as well. I was in shock. His register is obviously still open, just help the additional customer (me). It is an extra 30 seconds to help another customer. 60 seconds tops. He repeated that he was closed. I thought he would realize how insensitive he was to a customer that is literally inside the store already. I looked at my watch. It said 6:30. That means I walked in at 6:29 or 6:30. Wow, just wow. He cared so little about the customer. The pregnant lady employee escorted me out. I was in absolute shock. This isn't even extra customer service. This is basic human decency and compassion. One thing is for sure, these employees 100% hate their customers and they 100% hate the store and 100% hate their job. I own a small business, this is not the level of care we give our customers. If I had found out one of my employees treated a customer this way, they would be fired on the spot. Given that these 2 employees have zero empathy, they are in training to be future sociopaths or psychopaths. Word to upper, upper management, beware of these ppl. As a person that knows a lot about humans, these ppl are going to destroy your company. I told my husband what happened when he got home, he said it was appalling. SMH

Slow and unhelpful…read more I had to come here after a conference to schedule a package pick up. There were 4 people behind the counter but only one person helping the long line of customers. Even though there 2 people in front of me doing simple shipments, I still waited 20+ minutes... Only for them to tell me that they couldn't help me, and that I had to call the 800# (which I had already done and they couldn't schedule it either). Add on exorbitant handling fees and this location is a bust. I can't believe they are the "convention center Fedex" and are this incompetent.

We shipped our Exhibit boxes to this FedEx office because we were under the impression that the office was in the same building as convention center... it was not. Normally it is the responsibility of the customer to pick the boxes up and haul them over to the exhibit Hall at this location... In every other exhibit hall we've been to the on-site FedEx office is actually right within the floor plan of the exhibit hall ... After expressing our frustrations, Brian Williams, the general manager stepped in and provided the manpower to assist us in getting all of our materials over to the exhibit hall. We asked FedEx to hold our boxes for the next 3 or 4 days because we need them to repack all of our exhibit material to reship to other locations. At the conclusion of the trade show we found out that they had inadvertently been thrown out. Brian totally owned the problem and provided us with boxing and help pack for almost 2 hours at no additional charge. This is the kind of mindset every employer is looking for...and every entrepreneur must have. We had forgotten one box and packed it with our personal belongings on our way to Boulder... figured we'd ship from there. There's a UPS store next to where we were staying and we brought it in to get it labeled and shipped.. I thought I was going through TSA with having to pull my driver's license out and sign paper documents as if I was also sending this overseas to a foreign country a process taking close to 20 minutes . It was a stark reminder of why FedEx is number one. Anyone headed to the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio ask for Brian Williams ....the dude will take very good care of you. First class guy with a first-class personality delivering first class service.
