    FedEx employee throwing fragile package at front door instead of walking four more feet. Contacted the company about the broken package and they said they aren't liable. They refuse to replace the item, refuse to even tale responsibility saying there was "unknown factors" I am absolutely amazed this company still operates considering everyone hates them and for good reason!

    I was so dismayed by the driver/ courier who delivered my package yesterday March 18, 2024 around 10:55 am at this address 10405 Saskatchewan Dr. NW, Edmonton, AB Canada. The courier left the package at the entrance of the building, he was already inside the building and when I complained to customer service that I lost my item they said he didn't have access to the building which is he took a picture of my package inside the building, he is just lazy to put it in front of my door unit. This is the first time I lost a package from Amazon. You can see his photos it's blurry and in my photos, it is clear that he is already inside the building.

    Customer service handled my incident extremely well. They were kind and professional and ensured due care of the package in the end, even with following up via phone calls. The reason for this mayhem was not FedEx but the courier they hire to deliver. Elaine with FedEx, Thankyou for taking care of me and being so gracious.

I'm not even really shipping anything half the time. I'm just sending an empty box to myself. That's saying a lot too because it can't be easy putting a positive face on UPS, the company of the hidden, compounding, and multiplying fees. Have you ever sent or received a package via UPS only to find out you owed them $8000 in brokerage fees for an item that's worth 10 bucks? Plus GST x2 because they charge tax on the goods themselves AND on the brokerage fee. Then they send you another bill a week later because they forgot to charge you 9.5% of the parcel's domestic value. Having a UPS driver at your door is like inviting a vampire over to your house. They'll keep coming back for more and it's your fault because you let them in. (BTW, 'brokerage fees' are the fees UPS charge you for clearing your goods through customs. Yes, they charge for that.) Moral of the story?--only use UPS for shipping within Canada. And if you're lonely. Anyway, I'm getting off topic... The service here, in addition to being friendly, is fast and the staff are knowledgable and attentive. We've all had the experience of standing in line at a post office or shipping centre with some pain-in-the-ass customer in front of us asking every question under the sun about shipping rates for their parcel. They always want to get it sent the fastest way for the lowest cost. It would take them less time to walk it to its destination than to inquire about the cheapest rates. Then they pay with change. Unrolled!!! (Those people deserve high brokerage fees.) That has happened to me a couple of times here but the counter guy always greets me and asks if there's something quick he can help me with while the guy ahead of me is counting out his quarters. I then give him my self-addressed box and away I go. Faith in humanity restored. For 5 minutes.

I gave him my pick up notice and he came back for it right away. I can't recall if I had to sign for it or he just checked my ID. The guy seems to really like his job, which is awesome. Hang ten, until next time I have to pick something up at this UPS.

    Our heat pump wasn't functioning, and because of the reviews on YELP we asked them to send out a…read moreservice technician. The communication beforehand was excellent. The technician arrived on time, was courteous, professional and seemed to be competent. After about 30-45 minutes he told us that we needed to replace the heat pump and that it could not be repaired. We paid the service fee of about $200 and asked that they send out someone who could give us a estimate to replace the heat pump. 2 days later another technician came out, and gave us an estimate. Again, he was on time, courteous, professional and friendly. I mentioned the need to replace the heat pump to a friend who lives in our building. He mentioned another company and so we called them to get an estimate on replace the heat pump. They came out, and looked at it, asked some questions, did some maintenance and the heat pump is working! No replacement needed! Getting this 2nd opinion saved us literally thousands of $. We are so grateful for the other company and will probably not call Acclaimed! again for a repair - since either their technicians are not competent, or they tried to sell us something we didn't need. After I posted this review, the owner of the company apologized for the misdiagnosis and offered to refund the initial service fee. He was very polite, listening and we had a good conversation. He handled this with grace and so much better than other owners. I'll raise my rating to a 2 from a 1 because of this call. It was appreciated.
