It took me close to a year to finally decided that featherhause was going to be the artist to microblade my eyebrows. It was the BEST decision I've ever made. Nicky was thorough, super attentive to my nerves of needles, and most importantly she was an artist. One that is super attentive to details and can draw perfectly even brows - I trusted her, and I trusted her skills. All this is based on her ig photos, yelp reviews and my overall experience and now, perfect eyebrows. I didnt feel much pain during the whole process either - it was more like a tough pitch from time to time that lasted for an hour. I was extremely nervous since needles and I don't get along. But we talked the whole time and Nicky made it easy for me to relax. I got my eyebrows microbladed back in June and it is now December and I have not needed to go back for a retouch. I followed her post care instruction to the T, putting cream she gave me every morning and night for two weeks and avoided face wash and any other face product that could touch my eyebrows. Got my eyebrows machine feather microbladed by Nicky and I loved it! The first time was completely painless and the numbing creme she used was very effective. The touch up hurted a teensy bit but it was no problem. I was expecting to tear up from pain but it was totally fine. The only thing that happened was sneezing from the tickle. Lol I told her before I sneezed so she knows to pull away. I was very picky about the shape and she was very patient with me the entire time. She even allowed me to draw my own shape to demo and she helped me correct and matched it to the other eyebrow. Extremely patient and meticulous! I went in for my first eyebrow microblading appointment. Nicky asked me how I usually draw my eyebrows and I briefly explained to her. She then measured and sketched out her first design. She was very detailed and asked how I wanted the arc (very sharp or more round), the length, thickness, etc. As she was sketching and making edits, she explained step by step and gave me many options on how I prefer my eyebrows to look as well as letting me know what would look better on me based on my facial structure. She was very accommodating and knowledgeable which brought me great comfort. Any small adjustments she would make, she would let me know. After the designing process was finished, she applied numbing cream which made the entire process very painless. She made sure that I was comfortable and asked me every so often if it hurt so that she can apply more numbing cream. Therefore, for those who are scared of the pain, please know that you are in good hands and Nicky will make sure you are most comfortable during the entire process! She is also very patient and answered to any questions or concerns I had, especially since this was my first time. Nicky is very meticulous and what I mean by that is that during the microblading process, she went over my brows a few strokes at a time to insure that my eyebrows are well-balanced. When the microblading was done, she explained in detail about the aftercare process as well as what will happen during the healing process so not to be alarmed. Just got my eyebrows done done today, and I already know my life has changed for the better. I showed up to my appointment about 15 minutes early because I'm irrationally fearful of no parking. But there's PLENTY of parking, even right up front. You enter through a gate that has a wire feather decor, which takes you to an open space with another door where Nicky does her magic. Right off the bat, she is super welcoming, even though I arrived right when she was on the phone. She sat me down, had me sign a waiver and gave an introduction to what she does. The technique that Nicky uses is called feathering, NOT microblading. Never heard of feathering before, but I am now a fan. (I have never done microblading, so I can't attest to which one is better. But feathering is definitely a must-try.) She goes in depth about her technique, and the difference between feathering and microblading. She is super knowledgeable! Then we get down to business. She started by putting numbing cream on my brows to prep them, which took 20 minutes to take effect. At this point she asked if I had any brow shape I had in mind, and I said nope. She noticed that my brows had a good shape and color to it already, just needed some extra oomf at the edges and ends. (Come prepared with a picture or sample if you have something in mind already!) She also asked me about my skin type (oily/dry) because that determines which dye she'll use and how long the feathering will last. This conversation didn't take the full 20 minutes, but Nicky is super easy to talk to! When the 20 minutes were up, she quickly sketched out the shape on my eyebrows. Again, I didn't really have any specific requests, but she was able to draw out an awesome brow shape for me. So here's the part you've been waiting for if you've made it this far into my review: the feathering procedure. When she turns on the instrument, it gives off a soft buzzing/humming, similar to instruments at the dental office. When she starts the tattooing process, it literally feels like she's just gently combing through you brows. When she's done with one brow, she reapplied numbing cream to the one she just did since she went back to touch up the same brow. As she's doing the other brow, I started to feel a light tingling/stinging sensation. I wouldn't say it was pain, more like a 'yup, definitely just got my brows tattooed' sensation. So the actual tattooing part is not painful at all, but definitely expect to feel something. No blood at all! She went back and forth a few times to touch up some areas, and let me see in between the process. She also showed me how to use an eyebrow shaping blade so I can keep the shape, which was great cuz I've never used one (too fearful that I might sneeze as I'm doing it and take off half my brow). Just a note, the numbing cream is definitely needed in the procedure. I mentioned the tattooing process feels like someone is combing my brows, but that's cuz of the numbing cream. When Nicky did some final touch ups at the end, I definitely felt the last 3 strokes much more, and I would consider these as slightly painful. (I sucked it up though cuz I'm a grown woman lol.) For reference, I would consider my pain tolerance to be between moderate and high. So please ask Nicky to apply more numbing cream if needed! I already got my next touch up scheduled. (First feathering requires a follow up 1-3 months after initial appointment.) TL;DR What a great experience! My brows will stay on fleek for the rest of my days, or at least until I'm in need of a touch up. 100% would recommend Nicky to a friend, and even to strangers! read more

I have a type-A personality, and so it took me months of stalking Nicky's instagram page before I decided to take the leap. I had to make sure I liked everyone else's outcomes before I did mine! SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I specifically chose Nicky because the immersive microfeathering training she did in Korea. It's a technique that's been popular in Korea for many years now, but somehow not in the United States. I think this is because you actually have to go to Korea to get trained in this. And the outcome of microfeathering vs microblading is less invasive and more natural brows. Nicky lives by the motto, "the prepping phase is the most crucial part." It's true, she takes more time drawing, measuring, and perfecting the shape than doing the actual procedure. Having been previously trained as an artist for decades, I believe she is especially knowledgeable on how to balance your brows to fit your face shape. Besides being anxious about getting the exact shape I wanted for my eyebrows, I was also nervous about the pain. Unlike many other brow-artists out there, Nicky uses generous amounts of numbing cream so that you don't feel the pain at all. This also gives you, the client, an aesthetic advantage: you don't risk spontaneously twitching, thus causing the artist to mess up a stroke. I just completed my 2nd session and I must say it did not disappoint. Since we're in a pandemic, a safe and clean environment is a must for me. Nicky's Covid protocols were highly commendable... she asked for proof of vaccination and a completed health assessment questionnaire prior to coming to the appointment, masking up, temperature check and hand washing prior to starting the procedure. Nicky is very professional and she definitely knows her craft very well. She explains the procedure every step of the way and makes sure you're comfortable during the procedure. I don't really know what suits me so she offered suggestions on the shape and ink color that would best suits me.
