I purchased $2,200 worth of bedding; sheets, pillow cases, a $900 goose down duvet and a cover. I tried to return them 20 hours later; UN-opened and the owner refused claiming that "bedding in non-returnable by law" which doesn't apply to unopened items. It is up to the vendor to make that decision. I had to go to the credit card company and file a dispute which is the "nuclear" option... I hated to do that but I was reasonable in my dealing with the sales woman; she did all she could. It was the owner who did not try to compromise or even discuss with me personally. Don't buy bedding unless you fully intend to keep it. read more

I absolutely love this store -- it's one of my happy places. I always find things I love and have found a variety of linens and apparel that I never expected to find. Patty the owner is the best -- she pointed out duvet cover material that she sensed would appeal to me and was spot on. She helped me reason through my options to where I could know what I was buying was worth the purchase. I couldn't have ended up enjoying my new bedding any more. Beautiful linens in this store! The Featherbed and Bath reminds me of linen stores in the South of France. These stores are small and packed to the rafters with beautiful linens. We broused through the finest rugs, and egyptian cotton sheets, all at great prices. The consumers is offered luxury in the Corte Madera Town Center. The selection is sublime yet whimsical with hand embrodered kitchen towels with scenes of tourist destinations reminiscent of the 1930's. I accompanied a friend who was shopping for his first set of luxury sheets. The sales clerk was very sweet and offered suggestions in a friendly manner. They were having a super sale and he jumped on the major discount. We had planned to spend the day sheet shopping but there were no further store to go to after the Featherbed and Bath. read more

I've always loved this shop for it's high quality products and until now, I have not had occasion to purchase anything more than soaps and tea towels and pillows until I needed a duvet cover recently. I was allowed to take a sample home, but was asked not to take if from it's package so it could be resold which I did. I loved the pattern, so I bought the duvet and two pillow cases for several hundred dollars - not top of the line, but certainly costly enough to expect quality. Upon receipt, I immediately washed the product to rid it of the plastic chemical smell and proceeded to out it on my bed. I was sorely disappointed to find that even after trying several tricks, the material was thin, had no body and looked cheap (because it was). I tried to live with it but could not accept the quality - which did not match that of the store's other products. I called and explained all of this to the owner, but she offered me no acknowledgement or recourse - even after I asked to return the product for a refund. She did not apologize for my disappointment, did not try to find a solution that would be acceptable and did not offer a refund. Her basic response was that it was not returnable and it was my problem. She suggested I try several things to make it look better. But, I had already tried them and had no luck. The bottom line is that the fabric is from India and is cheap. I share this so that others know the customer service in this shop is not on par with it's prices and products. I've always been frustrated in my efforts to find and buy quality bed linens. The big box stores never seemed to have the staff available or knowledgeable enough to guide me through the many choices. Featherbed and Bath solved both problems. It's a small store run by the owner with 30or so years of experience. She gave me a quick tutorial on the options in my price range and even had "samples" I could feel to determine what felt the best. I can't say if the shop's prices are the lowest around but when it comes to personal comfort every single night, price point is less important. Anyway, we love the sheets. read more

I stopped in this tiny little shop yesterday while in Mill Valley. When I walked in there was an adorable dog I asked about and this woman who I believe was the owner said he was the store dog. Other than that she said absolutely nothing to me, seemed almost bothered by my presence and was just looking down reading something. I saw a pair of PJ's I wanted to buy so as I was looking for my size and unfolded them to see the length and the owner looked up and said 'they are hanging over there'. She was pointing to the entrance where the same ones were on a hanger. I told her I did see those but the size was a Large and I needed a smaller size. She snapped back that all 3 sizes were hanging up. I did not see the other 2 sizes since they were behind the large. She was completely annoyed that I would unfold a pair to look at when they were already on display. I apologized and she said something like ' I didn't mean that' but believe me there was nothing sincere about her tone. I just said well 'it really seemed to bother you' so I quickly folded and placed the PJ's back were I found them and left the store. I am from Marin County although I have lived out of CA for a long time. I have always loved coming back and I make a point of visiting Mill Valley where I grew up but sadly it has changed so much and become so snobbish and this store was a perfect example. read more

This small shop is stacked with treasures and top notch linens.......hard to find quality items in this day and age. Lots of European soaps, and enticing gifts from abroad. The only downside is everything is so alluring And squeezed into a small space, and you really need to search around. Really cannot be beat for quality however. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! I went in looking for a standard tailored bed skirt for a queen size bed and a basic white linen shower curtain. Abigail the sales woman made me feel like I was bothering her, but because I was determined to find these items I persevered. They did not have the shower curtain, but I was sent home with a bed skirt. When I got home the bed skirt was not standard and it was the wrong size! I went in the next morning to exchange it for the correct size and style and the sales lady, who sold me the product the day before, told me I could not return it because it was on sale. She assured me the day before that if it did not work out I could return it and when I reminded her of this she simply said "Oh, I was wrong." The store is a mess, so I should have known better when I walked in; I will never shop there again and I would never refer my clients there. read more
