I'm continuously amazed at the huge responsibilities that they have twenty four hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days a year. It's my opinion that FDNY needs more resources considering our aging buildings. There's a lot of Fire Education needed for the general public. They are serving around 8 million NYC residents. People move in and out of the city. I let them know how much I appreciate their service every time I see them. I'm recommending you do the same!

I was admiring the male firefighters jacket. He didn't hesitate when I asked if I could take a photo. He was accompanied by a female firefighter and they both were so patient with me as I chattered away like a crazy old lady! FDNY is the best in the world as far as I'm concerned!

They did not inform me I had the right to have them inquire to their medical staff regarding changing location. I had anaphylaxis with a complex medical history. I strongly believe I was redirected to hospitals 3.5 miles to 8 miles away from my house due to racial bias . The hospital I requested 1 was located 1.2 miles the other 1.3 miles. One emt was particularly rude. I called to complain at the headquarters office and because I didn't have the name they made a complaint and they said that was all they could do. Funny enough I'm at work today and saw an emt that was possibly one of those who ha dpicked me up. When I asked her if she remembers picking me up the other day she immediately said it was her. She then proceeded to say "I don't care about you". I said but I care and she repeated that "I pick up and drop off and I don't care about you" how is this acceptable behavior of a healthcare professional? I am a nurse and while it is exhausting I DO care about my patients. Her comment is appalling and absolutely disgusting and we are supposed to trust this person when we are sick?

It's generally safe in the day. Wouldn't want to be there at night. It is a pretty iconic area. It's named after one of Brooklyn's main streets, which runs through the neighborhood. Just south of Prospect Park, there is lots to do and see. It has many chain stores like Target, but there's also lots of local businesses. There's restaurants serving a variety of cuisines from around the world. Go if you want to see what the real Brooklyn is like. It has less crime than it did a few years ago. Take a drive through an afternoon before it gets dark and you should be okay.

I love being outdoors but unfortunately most of my friends don't and I never thought of going out on my own with a bunch of strangers until I came across a Groupon for DBA. I finally took the plunge and signed up and it was the best thing I ever did. Since March, I have gone on 4 more hikes and each one of them has been totally amazing experience. All the credit goes to Dave and his crew- they are excellent and the hikes are well planned. You don't have to worry about much because they do most of the work for you. Dave is an awesome guide and highly experienced. He is also extremely knowledgeable and his adventure stories keep us all entertained and laughing throughout the hikes. He is very passionate about what he does- it's just not a business for him and it clearly shows. This is something that I feel makes DBA unique and stand out amongst other similar companies. I attempted a tough hike and just when I thought I could not go any further, Dave and his crew continued to encourage me and it was a great feeling when I finally made it to the top and saw the amazing view. Along the way, I have also met some great people and feel like now I am a part of a community of lovely people that enjoy being outdoors. I'm no longer apprehensive of going on hikes, sans "friends", because Dave makes you feel like you are hiking with a good friend. I have learned so much from the hikes and from Dave and I would highly recommend DBA to anyone. They not only offer day hikes but also overnight as well as holistic adventures. We have a Board in place and all decisions are "supposed" to go through us. I say this because some of the HSC buildings are owned by them. All was great in the beginning when we had to fire our previous management co for a myriad of reasons. Josh Koppel was attentive and sprouting how he would take of everything, and how the previous mgmt co "should not mess with him". The transition was pretty much stress-free. We received monthly maintenance bills, they provided excellent, concise statements and I say that because this simple function was severely lacking at, our previous Mgmt Co. They referred porters, accountants, vendors, and a Lawyer, all of which we interviewed and hired. All seem to be going great until it wasn't. They would fail when it came to needing assistance in our storefront renters, problems with shareholder issues, finding solutions to building problems, loss in income, and answering calls and emails. All were met with rudeness, lies, and lack of attention. All is good if your building is making money and they don't have to do anything. There is so much grift and nepotism at HSC, it will make your head spin. I was warned before hiring them, "Josh Koppell likes to take over". I wasn't sure what that meant but I sure do now. He has to profit off every vendor and outsources almost every function so you end up paying several different entities in addition to their monthly fee, which was very inexpensive on the face. They sabotaged us. Offered no assistance during the pandemic where they continued to get paid and just watched us fall with losing so much in rental income. They try to divide and create riffs amongst board members- they like the ones that are silent and don't ask questions. They refuse to answer questions regarding finances and remove us from their "Master Plans" from which they profit off. I should add, almost every vendor is his relative, including those that are on his "Master Plans". Myra, the building Manager, should not go unmentioned either. She lies and her only job is to serve her boss. It's a joke that she is Manager.

Worst management company I've dealt with…read more Since HSC Management took over, the building has gone downhill fast. Ongoing elevator problems, essential services and amenities being taken offline, unresolved pest issues, and inconsistent heat have all become part of daily life. Communication is poor with no updates. Debra kaplan is a snake who avoids responsibility and is extremely rude to tenants on the phone. For the amount of rent being charged, this level of management is unacceptable. If you're considering a building run by HSC Management, proceed with caution.
