It has a nice parking area, but smaller than the other two. Still found a nice spot. Inside, the greeters were friendly and explained the layout. Again unlike the other two, North had a weight room separate from the weight machines. It was interesting to see a large area dedicated to dumbbells and barbell presses. The other, larger area had nice windows and the pulley machines. I found it a great place to workout and though it was Saturday, not too busy. They have a lot of machines. I do wish the weight room had some more ventilation. I'll be back soon and check out the pool!

It's been a long time since I visited the North Boulder Rec Center. It's fairly far from my house…read morebut they have a lot of nice programs. Decades ago my younger son took gymnastic classes there. My husband has used their pool for Scuba trip prep swims to test out their equipment. Also my kids and many of their friends had birthday party events there in the 80s. A friend of mine invited me to stop in and try out their fitness classes for seniors. The program is free to us, though most of the participants have some form of support from their medicare supplement policy (Silver Sneakers membership) and I assume that benefit supports the program financially. Nothing is ever "free" in the sense that it is just like being out in nature. There is a large building and many staff to support. All the staff we met in the process of signing up and get information on programs were very pleasant, efficient and supportive. The teacher of the class was a very positive and talented young woman who clearly understood her participants very well. The music was such fun. Some was the a similar play list to what I had in classes in the late 80s & early 90s, when I last took an indoor fitness program at other locations under the Jazzercize label. Many disco dance songs, new in that era, retro classics now. Also some pop songs of the 60s for some of us and cool down relaxing folk and ballads focus too. I was surprised yet pleased to hear Joan Baez "Diamonds and Rust" unique to a class like this I think. Parking is a bit complicated at the center, as the lot out front has very small spaces and is filled quite early in the day, but there is more room along the sides with slightly larger spaces and now that we know that, we will try there first next week.

We didn't have a car at the time, the owner even offered to drive us up himself as it wasn't a super busy day. Lovely experience. Kinda surprised reading the 1 stars for this place- for us the tubing was a fairly unsupervised experience but one I think was quite safe given our gear, basic instruction, and a bit of common sense. Don't think I would've had it any other way.

Located east of foothills off baseline, you can start north off bobolink trail, or drive down to the rec center. There's a large building but numerous trails to walk as well! There are numerous soccer and football fields around, and basketball and racquetball courts. Many volleyball fields and tennis courts too! There's a big dog park as well with a cool little pond beach. I enjoy this park a ton for sunsets and casual walks, as well as time trial runs. This is a must do park!

On my walk down I passed some old and well kept green spaces of old campus areas. It was a brutally hot day in the 90s so walking this route was the easiest. Lot of lush green spaces this year since we have had such a wet summer. When the hotel gets open and I have a chance to try the eatery that will be open to the community as well as campus, I will give my full review. But this conference center hotel is something CU has been lacking for a long time. And it will be an asset when Sundance comes to Boulder in 2027!

Our hike was extra special because it was led by Maria the Park Ranger. Maria's knowledge and passion for Chautauqua was incredible to witness. You can tell these mountains mean so much to her! We learned about the landscape, wildlife, Natives, and so much more. Our hike was simple but we saw so much along the way. The views of the flatirons are hard to beat. The path was busy but it was a beautiful saturday morning and it still didn't feel overly crowded. We saw lots of doggies, runners, and families and friends meeting for a morning hike to kick off their weekend. It was pure magic. I hope I get to come back one day!!

I'm a tourist and the like and I enjoyed it! We lucked into parking on a beautiful, busy Saturday morning. They have very nice restrooms at the Ranger station, and more overflow port a potties around if needed too. The nearby trail is highly accessible and it doesn't take long for some views to pay off. It's a decently steep incline, but nothing crazy at all. Once you're into the trees the shade helps against the thin air and the sun, and it's so quiet and serene. No mosquitoes like I'm used to back home. Loved all the birds (shoutout magpies) and also seeing everyones' dogs.

I found out between Christmas and New Years that I needed to cancel my toddler's class. Cats is closed during this period, so I called and left a message. I called again when the gym reopened and explained my situation. Although the next session started the day that the gym reopened, and they do not allow cancellations within 2 weeks of the session start, they agreed to make an exception given the circumstances as long as I filed my cancellation form that day. I did that. In Feb they charged me for the entire month anyway. I called to point out the mistake, and they agreed that I had been charged in error, but refused to refund the money. Again, I'm not worried about the mistake - I've been a small business owner and understand that things slip through the cracks sometimes. It's the fact that they won't correct an easily correctable mistake that's unacceptable. I'd recommend taking your business to the more honest and reputable options in the area.

I came to this place last week with a bunch of snowboarding friends to practice our backflips, etc…read more for the upcoming season. They broke us up into 3 different groups and had us practicing in different areas: backflips, frontflips and backflips in a harness. The staff as a whole is very attentive although most of our group had a hard time understanding gymnastic "speak" but that is of no fault to the staff. She tailored our ride to how "spicy" we wanted to make it, so since it was our first time rafting, that made us feel great. The trip was the perfect level of excitement for us as beginners. It was fun, thrilling, and adventurous without ever feeling overwhelming. My sons, ages 10 and 13, had an absolute blast and want to plan another trip back. We even got to see a bald eagle along the river, it was phenomenal. The weather was perfect, and the whole experience was incredibly well organized. It's also just under two hours from Denver, making it a great day trip. We really appreciated the free parking, and they kept our car keys safely in the office while we were out on the river. We felt completely comfortable leaving everything else locked in our car. We couldn't have asked for a better first rafting experience. I was so nervous walking in, but from the moment we arrived, every single staff member made us feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Our guide, Koa, was the perfect balance of fun, kind, and incredibly skilled. He guided us through the rapids with such confidence and ease while also making sure everyone felt safe and included. He checked in on us several times throughout and made sure we were having fun, asked us if we wanted to "spice it up" a bit or keep it mellow and just really let us know this was "our" trip and he's cater to what we wanted. I quickly found myself letting go of fear and enjoying the moment... something I didn't expect would happen. Koa's energy was contagious, and his calm, respectful nature made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. At one point on the river, another rafting company had a mishap and we had to pull over and wait for them to recover and get their riders back into the raft safely. Koa explained what had happened with total grace - no judgment, no gossip - just a calm and respectful explanation. He also spoke so kindly of his own coworkers and even the owner of Liquid Descent. You could tell he genuinely cares about the rafting community and takes pride in his work and LOVES his Liquid Descent family! Every employee we encountered was friendly, encouraging, and helpful - from getting us fitted with helmets and life jackets to cheering us on as we headed out. As someone who started out nervous, that kind of supportive vibe made a huge difference. They encouraged me, and they helped me push past my comfort zone in the best way possible. What a GREAT memory! We will remember this day not only for the thrill of the rapids, but for the kindness and heart of the people who guided us through it!
