We booked it for a corporate event on a Friday afternoon and every step of the way was easy. Event setup: Everyone I talked with over email was responsive to every question I had, down to minutiae like if there were tables that we could borrow for catering. We went back and forth between headcount, and they were very understanding and accommodating. Pam in particular was a pleasure here. Day-of: Nancy and Brian were some of the sweetest, funnest, calmest, and most welcoming mentors we could have. While folks were filing in and getting food, they stood up and gave us game rules and safety tips. Once we were on the ice, they did a great job of showing us how the game is played, letting us practice the perfect amount before getting some games started. Both of them were helpful and able to answer every question thrown at them. There were also 3-4 other people there helping and working with our group that everyone enjoyed, I just didn't get a lot of time with. Location: The DCC is immaculate. The ice itself looks like something out of the Olympics. Perfectly maintained. The equipment is in great condition as well. Off the ice, there is a full bar (manned by another happy and helpful volunteer--do you see a theme here?) with great selection of bottles and taps. The lounge area overlooking the ice is complete with TV monitors hooked up to cameras directly on the scoring zones, so even if you aren't on the ice, you can feel a part of the action. I would do this every Friday if I could. The Denver Curling Center is an outstanding place for a corporate event. Talk about team-building. Spend a few hours with 3 or 4 of your coworkers pushing rocks and brooms and you'll feel like a team! The people really make the experience--can't speak highly enough of them.

A group of six of us went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was crowded, but we didn't have to wait long to get our skates. The way it works is that the ice skating rink is free, but you have to pay to rent skates. If you own your own skates, then, the experience is completely free! To rent skates, you wait outside in front of a little booth and get a wrist and then go to the window next to that one and say which size you'd like. Despite the rink being crowded, the wait for skates was very short. Service was friendly and efficient. The skates weren't the highest quality, and they use ski boot like buckles rather than laces, but I can't complain given the convenience and price. The ice rink gets smoothed over/cleaned using a Zamboni every so often, and when that happens, you can stand by fire pit stands (I'm not sure what they're called?) or sit on the benches right outside the rink. We stayed for about an hour and a half to two hours and had a good time. This is a great activity for families and friends alike!

There is definitely an increased need for more shaded areas for spectators. BYOC (chair) as the stands are older and offer no shade or coverage from the elements. While there are trees that you can hunker down under, it does not give the best view of the games. The restroom situation is interesting and not sure I can get on board with how they have decided to set up the facilities, specifically in the women's restroom. But, the field does provide for many games to happen, so it is good for tournaments.

Be prepared if you watch games in hot weather or during the many unpredictable storms in the Denver metro area. Bring an umbrella for shade or rain. I believe those sessions ended, but you can still take regular courses or join a league. The facilities were great - so much space for multiple games/lessons to be occurring at the same time and spectating downstairs or upstairs at their bar! The equipment we got to use as part of the class (shoes, balance support, stones, and broom) seemed to be in great shape. And finally, all the staff were so wonderful. Great at the sport and good at instructing on steps and technique. It is such a fun sport and will give you a new appreciation for the athletes you see on screen.

Trying to get someone to answer emails can also be difficult. They offer early access for their clothing shop but it's a $25 golden ticket and rarely have plus sizes for their gear.

Our…read moredaughter is attending the University of Colorado and needed a visit anyway so we planned the trip from out of state specifically so she could be evaluated by coaches in-person. After a brief intro with the Director she was then placed with coaches and a team. Those coaches proceeded to basically ignore her and never had her work in with the team and after two hours of just standing there being ignored we decided to leave. Attempts at communication after the fact was also essentially ignored. I get that they likely don't have to try very hard to attract athletes but this was an egregious lack of professionalism. I'd seek other gyms if you can.
