The last 3 salons I was going to in Pittsburgh (just for wash and cut) had all closed so I was on the hunt for a new place. She was communicative, sweet, professional and obviously talented. Very happy with how my chocolate balayage came out and will definitely be seeing her again for all my hair needs moving forward.

Laurie is doing a great job staying COVID-safe-wearing a mask, cleaning between customers, keeping customers scheduled so there's only 1 of us in the shop at a time and adjusting schedules so there is only one hairdresser available at a time. Not only that but she was enthusiastically on board with what I wanted. I had had a bad cut from a different salon previously and told her all the ways I didn't want to hold onto that shape, as well as what I did want. An hour later my hair was all over the floor in a ring of the fallen, and my hair looked AMAZING. All the texture and layers and movement I missed was there again. Seriously a great haircut. Entrance/storefront is a little hard to find but not impossible (go through the lobby). I really appreciated the cold water and overall ambiance of the place. It's giving luxurious IG salon & reminds me of LA without the crazy price tags. Service: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Taylor helped me out with a cut and color, it turned out so cute. I especially loved the consultation and how thorough it was. Taylor was meticulous about figuring out what I want (bless her, I'm so indecisive) but also making sure my layers were blended/even. She just has such a wonderful energy/aura, I've decided we're besties now. Jokes aside, we're pleasantly surprised at what a gem of a salon we found, because they really do mean all hair types (we both have straight Asian hair). It's usually kind of hard to find a place that does both men & women's hair well but Cultural Hair Lounge really showed out! Not only are the staff friendly and accommodating, they really know what they're doing and have no problem showing off their artistries. Just wish they offered waxing/threading eyebrow services. Overall, we're excited to go home with new hair do's and appreciate having such a great first time experience in a new city. Thanks y'all :)

The lady was very sweet, and I really enjoyed talking with her. She speaks English, and she has a lot of experience as a hairstylist. The service was okay overall. However, she used old scissors that needed to be sharpened, and because of that, the way she cut my hair sometimes looked a little awkward, which made me feel nervous. Fortunately, the final result was okay. It cost me over $80 including the tip, which felt a little expensive to me. That said, I really liked the lady and her energetic personality. She was turning 70 when I visited, and I hope she can continue her business for many more years!
