My husband and I went to lunch on 4/11/19. Had seen fairly good reviews so we gave it a try. He ordered the Chicken Parm. I don't know what is actually in the "red gravy" but it tasted to me like taco sauce with a can of tomato sauce thrown in for good measure. Awful! I ordered the fried shrimp. Overdone, greasy with a strange coating. Outside of salads, no veg. were offered. The Savanah Sal.ad was some concoction of mostly mayo, onions, possibly hard boiled eggs topped with saltines. It's getting harder and harder to get a decent lunch outside of a chain. The dining room itself has a lot of charm. Way to dark in there. Hard to find the restroom. Sorry, El Dorado. During a business trip to El Dorado we were looking for a good dinner restaurant in the small downtown area and decided on Fayrays. What a fantastic find! For appetizers we ordered the Brussels Sprouts (wonderfully crisp and flavorful) and the buffalo shrimp (delicately fried and coated lightly with a well-balanced BBQ sauce). While we selected a couple of great locally brewed beers from Arkansas the owner of the restaurant also recommended the calamari. They were delicious as well - fresh cut pieces fried perfectly on the outside yet still tender on the inside. For main courses we followed the owner's recommendation and ordered a couple of the rib eye steaks and the local duck. The steaks were massive, perfectly cooked to medium and super flavorful. The duck was expertly prepared and tender. All of the sides were great as well (especially the garlic mashed potatoes). We also tried the house made bread pudding dessert which was absolutely wonderful - no raisins - moist - covered with a cinnamon, vanilla homemade sauce that gave it just the perfect finish. Wow! We all agreed that this restaurant really cooks at the same level as many high end restaurants in much more populated cities. In addition, we did speak to the owner of the place for a little while and it was refreshing to see how many times he praised his staff and how much pride he took in just plain and simple serving good food. The service was extremely poor. Our waitress was rude and ignored our table. The dinner salad had one small cherry tomato and one small piece of onion. The rice that came with the flounder was cold and the sautéed vegetables were flavorless. The fish was good but the portion was too small. We wanted to order dessert but our waitress didn't even give us the chance to order. I do not recommend eating here. read more

Very overpriced. They have cheap wine, prices three times the cost. The food was mediocre. It was very expensive for warmed up frozen food.

Ok don't get it food is decent maybe a little above average but Ruth Chris prices, been here twice wasn't disappointed in the food the first time had the pasta not bad but not impressed either, for the price I'd expect to be impressed second time my bday had the New York strip not a bad steak about average but rdidnt finish it was a little tough. As good as it gets in El Dorado! I have been traveling here for business for several months and wish I had tried Fayray's sooner. The service and ambiance were perfect and the food will rival any high end restaurant in a big city. The beer and wine list are extensive with many creative choices. I had the roasted red pepper soup, tilapia and shrimp special (with the most fabulous potatoes and rosemary veggies) and bread pudding for dessert. It was fantastic. read more
