    ribs in a styrofoam container

The worst ribs I've ever tried to eat. They were so darn tough and taste like lighter fluid. The nerves to charge 20.00. The beans and potato salad was good. I only ate 1 and a half and spit most of it out the meat was to tough to swallow.

Ok let me state I'm not in Texas now. That said yes the place looks just like you want a q joint to look like. However after that it starts going downhill. Cutomers get no interaction with the owner, looked like just tired and ready to go. Maybe an off day. Overall you get the vibe that it could be a killer q shak if or it used to be. Ordered loaded potato, plate of ribs and three sides to get an overall flavor. How can I put it...... just bland ecept for the beans, very tasty. The question is would I refer someone or return myself and the answer is no.

I kept waiting for Guy Fierri to walk through the door at any minute. This place had the look and feel of an authentic smokehouse, the type of place where the junk on the wall isn't junk on the wall, but meaningful mementos. While the menu was a blur the food was top notch. The ribs and brisket were smokey, tender and flavorful. I prefer my ribs to be able to stand up without sauce. JJ's needed the sauce but the homemade spicy sauce didn't disappoint. Like many southern joints the drinks were over sweetened, but given the address it was understandable.

Giving five stars for their steak, not their BBQ. As a local, my family eats here once or twice per month. Hands down the best steak you will find in this area. I have ate steak all around the United States; from Dallas, to Houston, New York City, to St. Louis, Atlanta, and Orlando, Chicago, and so on. JJ's steaks rank pretty high on my list. Their steaks aren't pretty and aren't trimmed to perfection, but they are large, wonderfully seasoned and buttered, and are cooked to perfection on a wood fired grill. You have two options: 1" ribeye or 1-1/4" ribeye, that's it. The 1-1/4 cut I would guess is between 16 and 20 ounces. Definitely large enough to share, unless you love steak like me and can handle it alone. Pretty sure they buy their steaks pre-cut, and I'm not even sure what grade they are, but there is always plenty of fat marbling and a nice big fat cap. Do yourself a favor and pass on the BBQ.

Picked up the bone and the meat cello right off.

Great bbq shack, tender meat and sauce is think for you bbq lovers who need to know. Spicy sauce is not hot just has flavor with minimal kick.

I almost thought it was closed since it was dark inside and no cars parked near the front. It was 2 hours before closing time afterall and generally it's not a good idea to eat bbq late at a restaurant. I probably wouldn't have even bisited at all, but when choosing a dinner spot I had to take into consideration my work colleague who has a very limited palette and prefers restaurants close to our hotel on business trips. I chose the 3 meat plate with fatty brisket, sausage and rib tips. At least it sounded good in theory. I added a tea and a lemon cake. Unfortunately, they didn't have banana pudding the day I visited, only on Thursdays. Brisket - I had asked for fatty brisket, but they pretty much gave me lean. I'm sure this brisket was either select or choice as there was little to no marbling, but for the price, you aren't going to get prime. 2/5 Sausage - this is a decent jalapeño sausage, although the menu does not specify it was even made with jalapeños. It is a tight fill and had a nice snap. 3/5 Rib tips - not sure why I ordered these, as you don't get much meat at all. Flavor is ok, but these are not spiced very much at all. 2/5 Mac n cheese - this was ok and has some pepper in it. Seems like it doesn't use many cheeses at all. 3/5 Turnip greens - I actually thought this may have been the best part of my meal. These were cooked just the way I like them. 4/5 Toast - every meal comes with either cornbread or toast. Since I don't eat corn bread and I like to make sandwiches, I chose the toast. You only get 1 thick slice. Pretty standard white bread. Lemon cake - this was a dense 4 -layer cake which was ok but I could only eat half of it. 3/5 Service was friendly but I felt like I had to use a lot of their bbq sauce to help the meats. Luckily their spicy sauce is actually pretty good. When the turnip greens are the best item at a bbq restaurant, that's a pretty bad sign. My colleague actually enjoyed his meal, but then again he would be happy with pre-made bbq from the grocery store. Another meal that was barely 3 stars for me.

Our waitress seemed young n was very meek. She did a 15% job but was nothing to brag about. First I ordered a side salad bar that was excellent. Fresh ingredients with about four dressings to choose from. $2.99 extra LET ME FIX THIS REVIEW! I JUST CHECKED MY RECEIPT N I GOT CHARGED $5.50 FOR THE SALAD BAR. WOW. ALSO I SAID NO BEEF ON MY FAT LARRY'S SPECIAL N ADDED JAPS... WELL I GOT CHARGED $.50 FOR THE PEPPERS BUT NO CREDIT FOR LESS A MEAT. WOULDN'T U THINK I SAVED THEM.$.50 BY NOT GETTING A MEAT BUT STILL GET CHARGED FOR A FEW PICKLED JAPS. WOW!! AND TO TOP THAT WE GOT CHARGED FOR TWO BAKED POTATO PIZZAS! OMG. THIS PLACE MEANS TO MAKE A FORTUNE OFF YA. I ordered a Med. Fat Larry special without beef add japs. The crust was thin n crispy which I LOVED. But there just wasn't enough red sauce on this pizza. The toppings Were all good n fresh except the mushrooms, which Were canned. The cheese was sparingly n I should have asked for extra when ordering. I am extremely certical when it come to pizza since it's my favorite thing to eat. Richard was torn between all the choices of speciality pizzas on the menu!! He went with a small baked potato pizza for right then n got two other things to take to work for his dinner later. He described the baked potato pizza as "dead on" which means it tasted like a baked potato. He loves loaded baked potatoes so I guess it was What a person would want it they order such. It looked like crust with cooked sliced potatoes..cheese..And Maybe Bacon with sour cream squeezed on top. I asked him if there was enough sauce on the crust...He looked n wasn't certain so if there was not enough for him to tell me What type of sauce so ...I'm afraid to say...but it may have also been a small amount. He took his other dishes a small chicken parmesan pizza which looked n smelled delicious And some type of chicken sub which looked really amazing with lots of chicken on it to work so I'm not certain if the rating will be as high warmed up but I figure it was good. Although we didn't play games...there was a section for games. This only encourages people to let their kids to come n run wild which I dont prefer but I'm sure is good for business. After receiving our bill for $49.00...we decided to get to go cups for our drinks because they Were delicious crushed ice fountain drinks. To even more of a disappointment...she charged $.55 each for styrophom cups that Were about a medium size. That to me shows the owners r really gold digging on this place since I know straws r cups with lips can't be that high n it's not like she filled them up with fresh drinks. We poured our leftovers in there...most places that charge for to go drinks at least fill them for u. The drinks we already had would had been thrown out. This is just uncalled for this day in age. I wonder if I asked for a refill for there if I would have gotten charged as Well? Either way...watch ordering to go drinks. Rip off. Tip: if ur like me...n want to taste the sauce on the pizza...better ask for extra sauce. Also if u like ur pizza cheesy...ask for extra cheese.

Dont waste your time or money. If I could give it no stars I would. I should have looked at the…read morebuffet before placing my order. One look and I know this was a mistake.
