Wine purchased from Fawnridge Winery, Auburn, CA, Oct. 2021.

I've visited Fawnridge Winery with a guest from another county and also a neighbor from nearby Roseville, and we truly love the Placer Wine Trail drive & experience. Fawnridge winery is located higher up on the Trail and is easy to get to. The tasting host, Sandy, is welcoming and shares interesting knowledge about the wines and the area. We enjoyed tasting delicious wine samples during our relaxing visit at Fawnridge.

What an enjoyable experience Lua9nn! My first experience wine tasting at a vineyard. I loved the options available. I will most definitely come back.Check out @strandedinCali who had some amazing natural stone jewelry pieces on my visit.

This place has it all: gracious hosts, rural setting, eclectic art, and the best reds in the area, according to my palate. If you want a trek into simplicity and serenity, Stephanie and Stewart Parry, the owners will always greet you with smiles and warmth.

What a charming tasting room. Approachable and tasty juice. Friendly locals to chat with. Gregarious proprietors. The pups loved the visit and cold concrete floors on a 95 degree day. Fantastic find!

    Great red wines!

Great family owned winery in Auburn off Highway 49. They even offer free wine tasting and have great events for their wine club members! www.fawnridgewine.com

This tasting room is looking to provide high quality service that people would expect from more established wineries and they are doing it right. I've been here 4 times by the time of writing this review and the experiences have all been fantastic. All the staff really do invest in the guests. Very knowledgeable about the wine and dishes. They take the time to really break down the wine and food if you don't know your stuff like me. They check up on you frequently! I really enjoyed the Carmenere wine. It's not as dry and is easily palatable for people who don't usually prefer red wines. I'm not super knowledgable in wine, but the flavors were earthy and slightly dark fruity taste. Some nights they have live music or events to meet the owners. Can't wait to see how the vineyard turns out if this is just a sneak peak of what's to come!

Went to a nearby winery we'd visited before, and had a perfectly nice time and tasting. Wanted to check out one more, and saw PaZa nearby. It's the epitome of husband and wife operation. A cute little gazebo and a number of tables and chairs on a beautiful hill overlooking a small vineyard. Don't expect a Napa castle and 'chic' gift shop. It's perfect for a few friends or chatting w the table next to you. The owner, Zane, was amazing and spent a good hour with us, talking about his wines, the vineyard, and the history of wineries in Placer. But what was unexpected was how good the wines are! Most of the time, at local wineries, you're 'meh'. Good wines, but nothing special. You'll grab a bottle and thats that. But here, I actually REALLY enjoyed each wine we tried. His fermenting process is 'old-school' using huge clay (amphorae) cisterns vs stainless steel, and a variety of other nuances that seemed to really make a difference. I literally ended up buying a bottle of everything we tried (much to the amusement of my wife). This is now my new favorite winery in the area.

Their outdoor tasting room overlooks hilltop views and if you're lucky you might be able to see a train drive on by too. The setup includes adirondack chairs and tables outside. They offer tastings as well as glasses ($10 each) and bottles that range from $27-$30. I tried their 2023 Grenache Blanc, 2023 Malbec Rose, Mix Red Blend, 2021 Barbera & 2019 Primitivo. All the wines tasted great and had a good complexity. Happy Dayz is a family owned winery with a husband and wife duo. They love their craft, which you can tell from their wines and the overall experience they provide. They are only open select weekends so be sure to check their website and social media for those details. In addition to offering great wines a wonderful experience, they give back to a local non-profit in Sacramento called GiGiś Playhouse and donate 21% of all Malbec Rosé sold. This helps support the Down Syndrome community. Cheers to Happy Dayz!
