this is the worst tasting shrimp po boy I have ever eaten. I'm sorry the bread tasted nasty so I tried to eat the shrimp by itself and that was nasty it tasted old and the waffle fries I couldn't even eat one they were stale nothing was hot.

    Fried crab claws

We visited New Orleans today for Harry Potter in concert and afterwards We decided stopped at the location in Slidell on our way home but, they were closing early for a Mardi Gras parade that was happening right in front of their business, not wanting to get stuck in traffic we decided not to stay. So, then we decided to visit the picayune location (not mad we were heading that direction anyway and it was not out of our way at all) so glad we did!!! Our server was FAITH ! and she was awesome! she was very attentive and very kind. I ordered the Fatty's Bloody Mary and fried crab claws to start my boyfriend got a beer, Faith brought us water as well but surprisingly even the bartender came by and asked how the drinks were and asked if we needed anything . After that we placed our order the app was out in maybe 5-6 min as soon as we were done with our app our food was coming out. I ordered the BBQ shrimp and a side of rice pilaf, my bf ordered the Cap n' fatty seafood platter and it was huge! He did add the oysters EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!! I would give 10 stars if I could! Great people, great food, great service I will definitely be back soon! I wish I would have taken more photos but we were ready to eat ........... BTW we had already ate quite a few crab claws when I took this picture so it was a good size order

I was actually very disappointed in this place. I got the crab stuffed bell peppers and they tasted like they were frozen and they just heated them up. The outside was warm but they were room temperature. The noodles were plain and had no flavor. The waitress was super sweet and friendly.

The food is wonderful. The service was great. The Ambiance was good. I felt like I was in New Orleans.

We tried Boudin Balls that were stuffed (with cheese) and the regular. They were both outstanding but I'd say maybe the ones without cheese were better. It's hard to say because they were both very good. The smoked boudin was better in my opinion only because the casing dries out a bit it makes it crispy so we of course just ate it whole. The regular boudin has a casing that isn't crispy so we chose to just eat the filling. The inside was just as good as the smoked. We only tried the chicken cracklin's and holy cow were they good! Some pieces were real crispy while others were a bit bigger and still had some meat on them. There was a perfect mix up large and small pieces, crispy and not crispy pieces. I wish we had these in Michigan. We brought home some andouille so we could make jambalaya and gumbo. We just cooked some andouille, and it was a little bit spicy and so good. We also brought home some boudin and can't wait to cook that. Be sure to check out their freezer section and take home some different things. This place was such a gem to find! The staff was very friendly and helped us make decisions on exactly what we needed to try since we had never been before. There is seating inside if you're looking to eat there. We just ordered things we could eat on our road trip home as well as things to cook/eat later. I'm only complaint was that the bathroom was not very clean and the toilet didn't flush. That doesn't matter much because you should really be going here for the food! :)

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must. They were large and charred to perfection on the outside grill, topped with parm and breadcrumbs. My friends ordered the filet and the gulf fish, and I had the charred cabbage entree, with a French gerwurztraminer blend. The mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce were so rich and delicious! Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. It's an honest, no BS creole inspired cuisine. 100% coming back soon!

And yet again, I am so thankful for Yelp steering me in the right direction yet again! A short Uber from the French Quarter brought us to what I believe is such a special hidden gem! The moment you step into Atchafalaya, you realize it. Ambience is amazing, quirky, cool, homey and cozy. Staff is amazing. We sat in our own private room and were treated to a very special delight of a dinner. I tried the incredible fried green tomatoes, the seafood soup (?) and the incredible steak...wow, everything was amazing. And not only did Chef Christopher Lynch come out to say hello to my Autistic son but the owner Tony Tocco did as well and it made his day! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

A Standout Louisiana Brunch…read more We had a family brunch last Sunday, and Palmettos on the Bayou was exceptional. The Sunday Brunch Buffet offered an impressive variety, and everything we tried was delicious, especially the tender ribs, flavorful brisket, and the perfectly chargrilled oysters. The view was unique and right on the bayou, which added a relaxed, scenic backdrop to the meal. With live jazz and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere, the whole experience felt distinctly Louisiana in the best way. Friendly service, great food, and a beautiful setting made this a brunch we'll gladly return to.

For reference I've had acme, Dragos, superior seafood, New Orleans food and spirits. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly fried with boiled shrimp and a cucumber salad and remolaude on top. WOW! The shrimp were a party in my mouth. The bread pudding was also arguably the best in the area. Slightly firm, but incredibly moist, topped with cream and apple slices. Also, Natalie went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. We'll go back often and ask for her. I do also appreciate restaurants were it seems there are working together to and sure customers have what they need The only downside was the bar tender didn't offer smiles. She had a very firm and unwelcoming look that didn't seem to go with the rest of the culture.
